We should probably interrogate first so this joker doesn't escape or something.

Hit die: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Do we get the "resting with a bard" bonus?
Bard Bonus: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Healing: 2d8 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 4 + (2) = 12
And then...
Further healing: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Male Human Bard (6) 18/45 HP |+2 Init|16AC|+9 Perc|+2Str +5Dex +1Con +1Int +3Wis +8Cha|

I've updated the treasure list in my profile (Spidre took the bow, Pietro plate armor and greatsword).

There's two 'double strength' healing potions that probably spidre and thyra should take (?)

I agree. I'd meant to claim one.

Cheers. I'll cross them off. You want the other, Thyra? They're double strength (4d4+4).

Amended. Jiggy, did the bandits have any coinage of note?

Whoops, completely forgot about actual cash. Let's say you found 2d100 ⇒ (2, 47) = 49 gold pieces.

Male Human Bard (6) 18/45 HP |+2 Init|16AC|+9 Perc|+2Str +5Dex +1Con +1Int +3Wis +8Cha|

Apologies for the radio silence. Got crunched at work and didn't have any creative energy. I'll make sure to return to posting at least once a day.

Sick today. Will post later.

An intriguing plan. How far away will the Pietro/Thyra/Halsere trio wait while Spidre and Mirrel do their parts? Will Spidre be using anything other than basic skill checks to move among the trees? Any preparations for anyone?

I don't think I have anything else, but I am fairly acrobatic. I figured I'd change into some +1 studded leather before attempting the feat though.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to start the party with an arrow or an illusion.

Illusion of a gargantuan arrow?

If you could spare another invisibility, Halsere I'd appreciate it.

By the way - doesn't invisibility last for an hour?

Mirrel wrote:

I does indeed, so I'll start us off with you still invisible. (Though if Halsere gets hurt, he might lose concentration and reveal you.)

New post incoming.

Have you updated your AC to reflect this?

Certainly not!

EDIT: wait, why is my HP so low?

Male Human Bard (6) 18/45 HP |+2 Init|16AC|+9 Perc|+2Str +5Dex +1Con +1Int +3Wis +8Cha|

I've removed the studded leather from party treasure.

Can we have noticed Spidre was injured before I left? If so I can give him a couple of healing potions (2d4+2 each) and a healing word (1d4+5), which should cover a significant amount of the shortfall.

My bad guys, I think I must have just misunderstood the plan on a player level.

Healing Potion: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1) + 2 = 5

(Both for Spidre).

Part and Parcel of PBP, I think. At the table we could have much more back-and-forth - here it's just as important to keep moving forward as it is to get everything sorted down to the last detail.

And yes, that's fine Thyra. Stuff happens. Worst case scenario you get everyone killed.

That was encouraging, right?

FWIW (although I'm not with my books at the moment), I'm pretty sure casting a spell ends my invisibility.

D'oh! You're right. Oh well, very little difference for that round.

Male Human Bard (6) 18/45 HP |+2 Init|16AC|+9 Perc|+2Str +5Dex +1Con +1Int +3Wis +8Cha|

Yeah - I just figured it might be relevant soon. :o

Out of curiosity, is that a new thing in 5E? It seems to me that doing something benign like healing didn't "used to" break invisibility, but maybe we've just always done it wrong.

Male Human Bard (6) 18/45 HP |+2 Init|16AC|+9 Perc|+2Str +5Dex +1Con +1Int +3Wis +8Cha|

Also - do you think in this situation that the caster no longer able to see the target is aware that the spell he's concentrating on is now achieving nothing/has ended?

In Pathfinder, casting a non-offensive spell didn't break invisibility. So you could heal or summon, but anything hitting an enemy would blow your cover.

I'm fine with a caster knowing that their concentration spell has ended; otherwise, what are they concentrating on?

Male Human Bard (6) 18/45 HP |+2 Init|16AC|+9 Perc|+2Str +5Dex +1Con +1Int +3Wis +8Cha|

I was also imagining the situation where Halsere is concentrating on keeping two people invisible (or flying or whatever) and they're out of sight. Does he know when one of them is no longer affected?

It obviously doesn't matter here, I'm just curious what you'd think.

FYI, I might not be able to post much (if at all) over the weekend, as there's a good chance I'll be out of town.

I'm afraid I kept meaning to post something...then just didn't. Creative energy is a rare commodity currently. Apologies. I should still be able to post every day.

Hope you feel better, Halsere.

So, we're not leveling yet, but you can do some selling/shopping if you like. Here's a general idea of what's left:

King Halav's Tomb is basically the last dungeon of the game, then you go and confront Koriszegy in an attempt to end this threat once and for all. You're not leveling yet, but will be after the Tomb, before heading off to fight the vampire.

Also, although I'm already generally a proponent of "chips fall where they may" GMing, I've generally been trying to err on the side of safety in encounter design, since character death can derail a campaign so easily.

But there's not much campaign left to derail. Either you find the artifacts and defeat the vampire, or thousands (millions?) of innocent people are killed and/or enslaved. Starting with King Halav's Tomb, we're playing hardball. I won't be suddenly changing how I adjudicate the rules or anything unfair like that, but PC death and/or total campaign failure is a looming threat now. You have been warned; prepare accordingly.

>:D

Hah nice, its sad that this campaign is coming to end, it has been a fun foray into 5th edition.

Cripes, this wasn't your first 5E game, was it? Because some of this stuff (mostly the treasure/magic items) is waaaaaay outside the baseline assumptions of the system.

Yeah it was my first and to date only 5E game, however in reading the player's handbook it seemed pretty clear that the magic items aren't typical to a 5E game.

If anyone needs some gold, Thyra can lend some. GM Jiggy, would I need to make a knowledge check to know I might need a silver weapon to fight the undead with? Being honest, I don't know what silver weapons work well against in 5E, but it seems like it might be a good idea to bring a silver weapon.

Not a lot, I'm afraid. I make it 234 gp, so that's 46 gold and 8 silver each.

We do have a +1 rapier and +1 full plate, plus whatever Halsere didnt need of the spellbook. Can we trade those for other items?

Alternatively we can sell them (for 2100gp + whateverthespellbookisworth).

I'd kind of like a +1 shield, but I think we're better off boosting Spidre's armor, since he's on the front line more. I have a fair amount of gold left over for myself, if anyone else has stuff they want.
