Cyx: You also need to specify a campaign trait, although I'm assuming that trait will be Sedition.

The Questions:

Why are you evil?It is not I who is evil, it is everyone else. If society were not morally sick and fundementally without justice, I would have no reason to fight against the crown and the church. All I ever wished for was acceptence. As a child I dreamed of becoming a noble knight of Talingarde. I did not fall from this path, I was shoved violently away. Everything and everyone I ever loved has been taken from me. But I will fix all that. I will make those responsible pay, I will make the people see the truth and they will love me for it. I will shattered the foundations of the church of Mitra and make even cruel and arbitrary death kneel before me.

What was the specific nature of your crime? Is it a crime to expose the darkness beneath the pristine mask society wears? Is it a crime to pull and pry at the cracks of misery crisscrossing Talingarde? Apparently it is and it is called Sedition. All I did was attempt to make those dissatisfied with the crown see that there is always another option. Apparently plotting to overthrow the crown and topple the holy church is a grievous crime. Through careful planning I created a network of rumormongers, slanderers, and other agents who sought to incite the common soldiers and villagers to revolt.

Are you the sort of character who can take the chance to join an evil organization and swear allegiance to the master of the organization and its patron - the dark god Urgathoa? The Pallid Princess has my heart and if this mysterious patron will give me the chance at revenge then he/she will have my loyalty... for now.

Tazo here - I'm glad you like my tea! It's a special recipe I learned from an undead friend of mine.

Here's Erodin Stark, the character I've drawn up. He's a rogue for now, but he's fated to become a Ghoul, and quite possibly a thief of souls.

The Silver Prince here. This is a VERY rough draft in terms of story and stats, but I'm posting the stats from memory of what's in the PFCRB and trying to keep the story brief enough so that the phone does not eat the post. Once I get home, I can elaborate on both more. I apologize for this and hope this doesn't reflect poorly on me, but as anyone who has posted with a smartphone here knows, smartphones suck at posting, so I tried to keep it brief.

dotting for interest!

Dark Archive

The next incarnation of the roster will have everyone's crime listed with them (If they've listed a crime, that is). Hopefully we see a wide range. I'm hoping to make friends with our local pyro, mostly to avoid being set on fire.

Dotting for interest, if that's alright. I'm interested in playing a witch. I'll see how horrendous my rolls are before I decide anything on anything though.

Very good Twilesmail, you've successfully made friends with a psychotic child-woman who is obsessed with undead, loves to burn things, reads the entrails of corpses, and adores giant undead BEES! Care to guess what prestige class Melisae is going for? It obviously has nothing to do with the Austin Powers phrase 'Oh bee-hive, baby!'. Well maybe a little. Or a lot. No really, that's it exactly. Anyone care for some blood honey? It's organic! Ignore the meaty bits floating in it!

On a more serious note, I'll have the revised stats, background, and appearance done tomorrow, GM. And is the backstory sufficient on the child necromancer feat? I'm going to fluff the idea more, but is it a solid framework?

Dareon had always been poor. Even when his parents were alive, they struggled even for food and shelter. When he reached his tweens, however, the very little luck that they had ran out. The family went from destitute to starving, and desperation forced Dareon into hatching a far-fetched scheme.
Nature of my Crime?:
He would pose as a local banker, and attempt to fleece the royal treasury out of some invented debt. The plan went awry when his disguise failed, and he was arrested. His family was jailed for being co-conspirators, despite Dareon's objections that they were not. Being the principal offender, he was sent to Branderscar Prison to work away the remainder of his life. A few weeks later, he learned that his family had been killed in a prison riot, and it embittered him. He knew that he and his family had been dealt an injustice, and he knew that it would be right.
Join an evil organization?:
He will honestly do anything to remove himself from prison. If it also teams him up with like-minded individuals that will help to punish this injustice, all the better.
Serve Urgathoa:
If that's what it takes to get his revenge on this corrupt state, he will gladly join up.[/spoiler]

I'm not sure how spoilers work, so here's hoping that this functions. If not, sorry for spoiling stuff XD Lemme know what you think.

Since I seem to have been left off the roster list, reposting my interest:

Very likely playing a Necromancer, who will probably go Master of the Seven Necromantic Mysteries.

I will post stats up later.

Works for me!

Also a big thanks to Twilsemail for doing the roster, I meant to put one up eventually but he beat me too it (shh, don't tell him, we'll see how long we can get him to keep doing it!)

Zarid, Cleric of Urgathoa, up for perusal.

That's not the right spirit! Keep your hopes up! (Not too much hope; this is an evil campaign after all; hope bad, despair good.)

Alright, alias created. I need to work on my background. My stats are in my profile. If anything needs work/is completely wrong, please, please let me know!

Why are you evil?:

Being born into a large family, fighting to be one of those dozen hungry, open, mouths clamoring for food and attention is only interesting for so long. Groveling and sniveling to those on the street, begging for that which should be yours by right. Begging permission to even breathe the same air as them, it’s pathetic. It’s demeaning.
When Ezra first discovered that she could use magic, she ran away to find a tutor. It didn’t matter what he wanted from her. All that mattered was that she could get up off her knees.
Power, however minute, is addicting though. You quickly became discontent with all the miscreants whining about their misfortunes, but being too afraid to really do anything about them. Power was in their grasp, but they were too afraid. So they groveled in the dirt like animals while Ezra, in her mind, rose above them.
“Could I have backed out?” Ezra shakes her head, “No, I suppose I couldn’t. I refuse to ask permission from anyone for anything ever again.”

What was the specific nature of your crime?:

It’s very simple, really. If you’re caught summoning or conversing with creatures the average person could never hope to understand, you’re trouble. Your life is forfeit if they tell. Even if you are in the privacy of your own quarters and someone, spying where they shouldn’t, saw and told. It was still your fault.
Now, if you quite reasonably, attempted to kill the witness and raze their home to the ground, you were irredeemable. Then again, spitting at the witch hunter and threatening him wasn’t the smartest idea one could come up with. However, it was amusing to see her neighbors cower behind him.
I’d bet all my belongings that they’ll be talking about it for the rest of the year. Or, I would, if they hadn’t burned them.

Are you the sort of character who can take the chance to join an evil organization and swear allegiance to the master of the organization and its patron - the dark god Urgathoa?:

“Without even blinking.” She sighs, “Just get me out of here.”

Twilsemail, take heart. I'm sure that you will get in.

HA! Truth!

Dang it, Monkeygod, you're going for Master of the Seven Mysteries too!? Sounds like it's competition time...

Azten here, with my unfinished witch character, who was accused(and rightfully so) of witchcraft and summoning a fiend.

I believe Ezra's background is finished. That is, unless the GM sees anything glaringly wrong with her.

Also, I'm hoping that she can eventually go for Heartless Mage if she is accepted and if it's a permissible choice.

If she's not, I still plan on watching everyone else. It should be intriguing to say the least. Particularly if both Monkeygod's and Azten's characters get accepted. Competition in and out of character, perhaps?

I happened across one more neat Prestige class. (Which I am STRONGLY considering for my cleric)
Agent of the Grave (originally from Pathfinder Adventure Path #45).

Alright, I would like to present Jethryk Devarre, a LE Human Ranger 1, and accomplished resurrectionist/serial killer for consideration :-)

Appearance:
Jethryk is a tall, wiry young man with coal-black hair, pale skin, and icy blue eyes. He rarely smiles, as that shows off the fact that his teeth are a tad too sharp for any 'normal' man. Despite his size (and his fairly looming presence as a result), Jethryk does his best to maintain a low profile, preferring to skulk around the edges of a gathering, rather than engaging in a direct 'line of attack'.

Background:
Born the youngest of five sons to a minor noble family in the capital of Talingarde, Jethryk's early days were hardly ones filled with privation, but he chafed at the knowledge that his effective inheritance was worthless; his eldest brother was destined to inherit the family estate, his second eldest and third eldest brothers found commissions in the Talingarde military, and his fourth eldest brother was bundled off to join the clergy. Showing no interest in the military, nor the clergy, his options were limited; he needed *some* way to support himself, after all, ideally one that would be appropriate for a gentleman...

His main accomplishment seemed destined to be draining the family wine cellar, until his despairing father hit upon the idea of sending him to medical school; whilst hardly the most prestigous of professions, at least becoming a physician would give him a veneer of respectability.

Jethryk, of course, immediately hated it; the cramped, dingy halls of the teaching hospital, and the ungodly smells, were hardly what he was used to. Still, he eventually uncovered a passion for anatomy; initially experimenting primarily on lesser animals (mostly birds, rats, cats, and the occasional stray dog he thought no-one would miss), he desperately wanted to explore human anatomy, but the dissection courses offered in that were ruinously expensive... or so he thought, until he hit upon the idea of providing a body of his own.

Procuring a shovel, he decided to lurk one evening down near the pauper's cemetery, hoping to find some freshly-turned earth... However, once he started digging, he realised that this was too much like actual work; there had to be another option. Instead, he started scouring the streets and alleys, hitting upon the idea of looking for the body of a recently deceased vagrant. After all, who would miss one such as that?

Eventually, his patience was rewarded, for he discovered the body of a beggar in a dark alley... However, when he started to man-handle the 'body' into a nearby barrel, he received a rude shock, for there was still some life left in the beggar's body! In a blind panic, he threw the beggar to the ground, there was a sharp crack, the beggar jerked spasmodically for a few seconds, and then lay still.

Instantly realising the gravity of what he had done, Jethryk nonetheless remained calm, crammed the now-definitely-a-corpse into the barrel, sealed it, and procured the services of a porter to help him escort it back to the hospital. Once there, he felt it was prudent to dispose of the body as quickly as possible, and offered to sell it to one of the other students, who promptly offered the princely sum of 50gp for it.

Jethryk immediately put the whole affair out of his mind, and was a model student for the next week. However, after a while, when nothing happened to him, and he had had time to reflect on what had happened, Jethryk realised that he had hit upon a potential gold mine - turning the otherwise useless dregs of society into cold, hard cash. No-one would miss them, or at least, no-one important enough to actually do anything would care.

Thus, over the next few months, Jethryk turned 'live-resurrectioning' into an art form. Cloaked in black, he would prowl the deserted night-time streets, looking for potential marks; ideally drunks too intoxicated to notice their surroundings, or those too weak or infirm to resist. He would then sap them into unconsciousness, and smother them, before packing the body into a barrel, and having it hauled to one of the capital's medical schools, where the bodies (and therefore the evidence) quickly disappeared into the ever-hungry maw of the dissection chambers.

Still, he tried to be careful: He did not go out every night, or even every week; he varied the parts of the city where he would go to stalk his prey; and he tried not to be too greedy, never taking more than three or four 'consignments' per month. This state of affairs continued for almost two years, before fate intervened, and his careful web started to unravel: One of his victims, not quite as drunk as he thought they were, put up more of a fight than he was expecting, and although he was able to silence the man, he had to beat a hasty retreat, leaving his precious merchandise behind, lest he be discovered. Then, a week later, in a dissection room across town, one of the students recognised the body of a former servant, and began to ask inconvenient questions...

Feeling that things were becoming a little *too* lively for his personal taste, Jethryk wisely decided to cut his losses and retreat to the family estate, to no avail. Barely a week later, a posse of the local gendarmes presented to the Devarre estate, demanding that he be turned over to them. Jethryk's father initially refused, but once the full extent of his son's 'hobby' was made clear to him, he gladly handed Jethryk over to them, cursing the day he was born, and declaring that henceforth, he had no 5th son.

Motivations/Goals:
Jethryk is filled with a burning hatred for his family, both for the way they were unable to offer him opportunities and wealth, and the fact that they abandoned him once he proved to be a liability. He would like nothing better than to see them brought low, and would derive some satisfation from seeing them sent to the dissecting table. He also blames the city fathers and nobility in general for not having the intelligence to see that the poor, whilst nromally naught but a drain on society, can, with a little creative thinking, be turned into a lucrative resource.

Realistically, Jethryk would be happy to swear fealty to anyone who could save him from death. That said, the teachings of the Pallid Princess would certainly appeal to... certain aspects... of his character, and he would undoubtedly become a devoted follower, once he was made aware of her doctrines.

Full crunch is available via his profile :-)

Agent of the Grave would be permissible.

Furthermore, anything from Libris Mortis (3.5 sourcebook, another poster mentioned it) is allowed, but I'd like it cleared with me first just in case.

Makes me wish I wasn't already in two Way of the Wicked games.

I just popped in to say that the Tome of Necromancy was written by a poster on the old WotC boards who went by the handle "K".

He also wrote a few other fantastic 3.5 supplements including the Dungeonomicon and the Tome of Fiends.

They are awesome and might just change the way you think about a lot of the mechanical tropes we've gotten used to over the years.

Happy gaming folks.

A question can the boneblade prestige class be reflavored into say a "death's hand" prestige class for monks?

Nevermind that question monk has bit the dust

"High Priest Artani"

By Holy Mitrraa! Everything destroyed by maurading Will-O-Wisps! And that horrid swamp dweller Reagast! He personally collected every tome of Mitra in the temple and as he put it "consecrated" them by hurling them into the swamp! "Brother Theol"

Catch him, catch him! Avoid the Will-O-Wisps! Don't let him escap..nooo!
"Unlucky Temple guard captain, swarmed by Will-O-Wisp's"

We found the "prophet" a day after his Will-O-Wisp's went back to the swamp, he had taken over and drunk a fair portion of the wine cellar. But the "prophet" did not stop at invading the Holy Temple with his Will-O-Wisps or drinking our finest wines. Nay, he...doused the Holy Alter with buckets of swampwater and using a spare, blank book he looted from the library to create a new "holy book" entitled "The Sacred Doctrines of the Will-O-Wisps". We found him at the alter preaching his "religion" and that it would help us all ascend...I am neither angry or enraged at him...simply terrified. "Sir Tetheris, shocked Paladin of Mitra"

It's looking like a party of the Little Rascals is possible...

An updated roster. With your crime of choice this time.

Leinathan – Bard - Fraud
Azten - Childlike Witch - Witchcraft
Roidrage - Fighter type

@GM, it might be time to set a close date for recruiting. You're already going to have a tough time choosing a party. At least, I would. We've got some great characters here.

I don't know that maintaining the PC as a Child Necromancer is possible for a summoner. I don't see any Necromancy spells for second level and I imagine there are other spells in a similar boat. I may switch Xerxes over to a sorcerer. Y'know party depending.

I also imagine that Sorcerer is easier to deal with in PBP than a Master Summoner.

My character should be mostly done, goals, personality, backstory and the like in the profile. Crunch is almost completely done as well - just deciding between my second feat. Any good suggestions for an evil cleric? I am also still tinkering with appearence.

Twilsemail, my main crime should be Sedition, not Blasphemy.

Artorius Pavo – Cleric - Sedition

Zarid Horralo - Cleric- Heresy (not blasphemy)

Dark Archive

I've got a profile for the summoner up (Here).

I'll update you two on the list. Artorius, there's not really much sedition in your story. You've got a good deal of heresy / blasphemy in there. I'm obviously not the GM, I'mj just sayin'.

Looking through the Tome of Necromancy again, I saw a PrC that fits the character's backstory a lot. Thoughts from the audience on Soul Merchant?

ETA:
Changes are ahead for Xerxes:
1.) Hope the GM will allow the feat "Skeleton Summoner" to make my Summon Monster spells count towards Child Necromancer's pre-reqs.

2.)Hope the GM will allow me to switch Summon Monster I-V for Summon Undead I-V from Libris Mortis and count that for the pre-req for Child Necromancer.

3.) Make him an Undead bloodline Sorcerer. Then he'll totally meet the pre-reqs all the time.

Well GM, which of the above do you want me to go with?

Will be getting the laptop tomorrow, so the massive revisions will not be enacted today.

Twilsemail, we will skip our merry, evil, child-like skipping all over Talingard! NO ONE SHALL STAND BEFORE US! And good on you recognizing the name! How did you know of it? Played Vampire: The Requiem and bought all the books? As for sorceror, that is probably a good option. An undead bloodline would be rather redundant though, given the fact that the PCs will already be turned into undead as part of the story. What bloodlines are you looking at?

Viluki, two bizarre druids would be interesting in a group! I'm going to be focusing on blood magic, necromancy, insect, and fire style abilities. What about you?

Dark Archive

That. And I took 5 years of Latin.

I was actually looking at Undead or Primal. I figure being able to Charm Person an undead isn't a bad idea.

If Primal, I'd keep a blasting spell on standaby at each level after getting the Necro Pre-req out of the way.

The Will-O-Wisp is a beacon of eternal wisdom, guardian and keeper of the swamp's sacred knowledge. Through the Will-O-Wisp all things are revealed!

Focus of this druid is to be the swamp hermit from hell with attitude problems. First order of business, get out of prison and gain as many converts as possiable to the faith of the Will-O-Wisp.

I'm not sure why you don't say there is no sedition in the story:

Artorius spent years learning his new faith under the guidence of Esus and plotting the downfall of Talingarde. He knew that he could not have been the only one dissatisfied with the reign of House Darius. From their small, unassuming house in Matharyn a web of sedition spread across the islands. It touched the Yutak and the barbaric Iraen, sunk its claws into destitute farmers in the heartlands and poor soldiers on the watchwall. Everything seemed to be going so well, Cells were formed, plans were hatched, Artorius even began delving into the forbidden mysteries of the dark arts... when without warning it all came crashing down around him.

I was wondering why the sudden influx of character ideas using the Child Necromancer feat and then I looked at it and understood why. Wow, that feat is ridiculously powerful. The -4 to strength isn't that harmful, especially when small size grants a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.

Let's face it, then by giving them weapon finesce with necromancy touch attacks, they basically complete negate any negative. It's just a powerhouse of bonuses.

Child Necromancer
Benefit: All Necromancy spells you cast are at +4 caster level, and you gain the effects of Weapon Finesse for all Necromancy touch attack spells you use (if you desire). You have –4 Strength, and appear to be a child despite your actual age category (this does not prevent penalties or bonuses from advancing in age categories, or stop the aging process). You are one size category smaller than normal for your race (do not further adjust ability modifiers). If you are a spontaneous caster, you may permanently exchange any spell known for any Necromancy spell you possess in written or scroll form. If you are a preparation caster, you may learn any Necromancy spell you possess in written or scroll form from any list, and you may not select Necromancy as a restricted school. These Necromancy spells may be from any list, can be exchanged at any time, and once gained are cast as spells of your spellcasting class. These spells remain as spells known even if you later lose this feat.

Dark Archive

This is what confused me. It seems like a history of Blasphemy with some sedition peppered in.

Artorius Pavo wrote:
The court found him guilty of the crimes of sedition, heresy, blasphemy, and treason.

I was just looking for a route to get "small." As a Summoner, the other bonuses do nothing for me.

And please don't take that as criticism. I'm just justifying my mistake.

In the questions section I go into his sedition more (unless it got deleted...). The reason I selected sedition over heresy was because that was the crime that he was most focused on. While it was true he worships the Pallid Princess and tries to spread her message, his main focus was trying to create a network of agents and rumormongers to bring down the crown and society. Inciting farmers and soliders to rebel, encouraging hostility from the surounding areas, etc.

You could probably forge a magus or a monk from that as well ReckNball.

A request for everyone: if you are planning on taking some levels in a prestige class, make sure you have a not of that somewhere on your character's profile.

Also if there are no objections, I'd like to set the application deadline at 8:00 (GMT-8) this Friday. That should give you all plenty of time to finalize crunch and backgrounds as needed.

Meh. I'm not feeling it. Thanks anyway.

Dark Archive

I'm going to re-roll as a sorcerer. The concept supports most charisma based casters and I think that the Rakshasa bloodline would work out really well here.

Beyond that, I found the Necrotic spells in Libris Mortis really interesting. I'm going to see what I can do with those (though it'll take months of OOG time before I can do a thing with them).

What does my Will-O-Wisp prophet need, great and er..."stocky" gm need to consider him ready for campaign?

GM Gluttony, my character is for the most part done, is there anything you would like to see changed or any suggestions you can make?

As far as prestige classes, I think it sort of depends on the party that is selected to a degree.

At the moment I am leaning toward working with you on a modified Liber Mortis Master of Shrouds if I decide to take any levels in summoner. (I'd naturally use an Summon Monster modification with undead)

Lord of the Damned or Maybe Agent of the Grave if I dedicate completely to Cleric.

If I go down paladin/cavalier/or fighter route I might go Bone Rider or Death King.
