Ajax is unusual in appearance, even for an ifrit. Fairly slim in build, his red tinged flesh bear burn scars that imply injury from splashes of acid, while his horns and yellow eyes give him a fiendish appearance.
History:
Ajax spent his childhood as a slave, where he was forced to toil in an underground community in the Worldwound. Tortured and trained to forge steel by salamanders and cultists, his talents in armor making and resistance to fire ensured his survival. Barely.
In his mid teens a group of Mendevian knights stormed the chambers, putting everyone to the sword. Two wounded knight stood over him as the carnage drew to a close, hesitating only due to the youth of their next kill. Aware of his impending death (and thus his escape from his nightmarish life), Ajax raised his hands in gratitude. To everyone's surprise (particularly Ajax himself) a flash of healing light enveloped the knights, healing them of their injuries. Curious, but still wary, they knocked Ajax out and dragged him back to Mendev.
Apprenticed to a Blacksmith in Nerosyan Ajax found the people there cruel and mocking, yet not violently opposed to his existence (it was known that he was not a tiefling). He spent much of his free time at the local temple of Pharasma, seeking answers from the seers there. Discovering that he had become an 'Oracle' he decided to abandon his duties several years later and traveled to the Worldwound. He was eager to use his power to help where he could and wreck havoc upon the monsters of the Worldwound.
More recently, Ajax has decided to adhere to the tenets of Sarenrae, rather than Pharasma. Sarenrae's blend of good, healing, and cleansing fire appeals to him.
Personality:
Due to his difficult upbringing Ajax has difficulty dealing with people, although he has some basic understanding on what to say (and what NOT to say) to many situations. A legacy of his time as a slave.
Although not humourless, he prefers to choose his words carefully in front of others, even to the point of appearing shy or aloof. Confidence often come to him during times of danger, 'his blood boils' as he likes to say. This commonly occurs when discovering undead, which he despises above all else.
