Just to be sure, you're saying that large male vesk is the boss, and he is running out of the boss' office, yeah? And the Staff Only door is within visual range of the Enter door? Also, were the guys playing with any cash on the table? What? I've never thought that cash-money would ever go completely out of style, especially amongst the skulduggery crowd. And obvious money will always play a factor on Allison's actions. =3
I don't know if there is cash on the table. I guess not.
The vesk is not the boss as the boss voice is human female.

"Don't back down, Boreal! Look, he's even smaller than you!"
Manteca, seeing a few hits on the male Vesk land, cautiously gets to his feet.
Inspiring Boost, now healing Boreal back 4 points, then stand from prone.
I am not sure what exactly you mean to be saying here.
Saying "even smaller than you" to me implies that Boreal is small and this male vesk is 'even smaller'.I thought I would just ask to clarify.
Also, just some info on Vesk, female Vesk are the larger gender, but Boreal stands above average at 8'2" where the average range is 6'-8'.

Compensating something? ;)
So you're saying while your average companion in this game is 6' tall you're standing at 8' 2" (Lolo, I think you need to be careful the she doesn't accidentally step upon you). For Lolo to talk on eye level with Boreal she'd need to sit on the shoulders of another character.
But thanks for clarifying that. But this means this is the immediate death of any attempt to go anywhere unnoticed. What weight did you choose? 320lbs?

I think he was just adding some fluff to the "Inspiring" part of the Inspiring Boost.

I am sure that is what he was doing. I am just making sure I am understanding what he is going for. Tone doesn't carry very well in text, and the more I can make sure I am inferring people's tone correctly, the better I can imagine their characters, and the more I enjoy the game.

I didn't have a weight nailed down, but in the range of 320-340 lbs.

Yeah, that 'even' made that sentence confusing... but I did know the vesk males were smaller, hence the line.
That's what I get for trying to add fluff before I've had coffee...

Yeah its a bit of a throwaway line in the Vesk descriptionI don't drink coffee so if I ever make a mistake like this I can't even use that as an excuse

Tea here.

Mt. Dew all the way!
(Also, you mix 2-3 1000mg CLA pills with the two ENERGY Tabs from the Dollar Tree. The Energy Tabs contain Guarna, which has a synergistic effect with CLA. Basically, Guarna jump starts your BMR (Basil Metabolic Rate) or resting metabolism, and CLA tells your energy to go from your fat cells into your muscle cells.
Also, Guarna is 300% more powerful than caffeine, but doesn't have a quick spike and a deep crash, and instead just has a slow burn. Two tabs in the morning an hour apart set me up all day. =)

I like tea too - but more for mood tempering than caffeine consumption. Like, a good afternoon cup of tea on a rainy day, for thoughtful times...
Coffee is kind of like my punch to the brain in order to make sure that it's up and moving every morning. I drink my coffee and tea black - no comforts beyond the 'hot beverage' bit.

Dame Tannhäuser |

Mountain Dew is friend, but it makes me sleepy :3
And I miss Guarana.

At this point, aside from the legal ramifications, why not just snort a line of coke? =)

EH-RK |

PS. I think we waiting on you in Gameplay.

Dame Tannhäuser |

This is what I take for pre-workout.
.. WTF there's a Swedish Fish flavor?!?!

EH-RK |

I thought there was no confirm in Starfinder....a 20 is a crit just like 5E.

Dame Tannhäuser |

I'll double check but I think if it's confirmed if the attack is a 20, and with all the modifiers it would hit.
If it's a Nat 20 and with the modifiers it still wouldn't hit then it's juts an auto-hit.

EH-RK |

That's just like 5E, and imho is superior to the "I'm gonna crit spec my entire build and now I gotta roll twice for every single attack" which bogs down tabletop play.

Foxy Quickpaw |

That's a lot of discussion about something simply looked up in the rules ;)
If your attack roll is a natural 20 and your attack total is equal
to or greater than your target’s AC, your attack is a critical hit. A
critical hit means that you roll your damage twice (adding to each
roll all your usual bonuses, including any additional damage from
special abilities) and then add the rolls together to determine the
damage dealt.
Some weapons have an additional critical effect that applies
when you score a critical hit. These effects are as follows...
Page 182 of the SCRB
You still have to check that I don't crit you on a summed up 20.

Dame Tannhäuser |

Yay! I contributed to the fight!

Dame Tannhäuser |

*nods*
Um, is there anything else we could realistically do? I don't think we were coming here to be friendly in the first place.
Get some information out of them and see how the corporation is connected I guess?

Foxy Quickpaw |

I don't know if speak with dead is still in the spells. Allison is making attempts to trick, bluff and diplo the people. Also Dr. Manteca probably is done with fighting for the day.
You still can easily march in and end the rest. But as there is now a wall between you and them. Noone will shoot as long as you don't follow.
Also gear:
card guy: flight suit stationwear, azimuth laser pistol with battery (20 charges), club, credstick (150 credits)
vesk: troop ceremonial plate, assault hammer, azimuth artillery laser with 2 batteries (20 charges each), frag grenade I, shock grenade I, credstick (200 credits)
This gives a few more options for continuing here.

Dame Tannhäuser |

At this point it might be best to just kill them all and go through the computers.

EH-RK |

Spells in this edition do a bit more damage than PF I've noticed.
Ofc, 1st level things have more HP in this edition so...

![]() |

Yeah. Disarming is -so- hard, so subduing isn't really an option much. Theoretically when we get more money we could stock up on non-lethal weapons.
(You can technically do non-lethal with any weapon, just at a -4 to hit, but that's pretty tough at 1st level.)
EH-RK |

Yeah, lets just end this...we can patch the survivors up if there are any afterwards.
Let's be real here...we aren't gonna be Space Paladins anytime soon.
Boreal= Bloodthirsty Space Lizard
Manteca= Drug Addled Doctor
EHRK= Amoral Probabilistic Life Sized Computing Machine
Allison= Well, I mean...she's Allison
Tannhauser= The closest thing we have to a "good guy" in the group.
