Stam will approach the chest, poking at it with his quarter staff and attempting to lift the lid with the staff.

Identifying via Detect Magic with Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

As long as you don't hold the item in hand it's Knowledge Arcana to identify the aura.

To open the chest with a staff is not easy but as you finally manage to do that you find the chest empty. The magic aura seems to be behind the chest.

Stam will move around to the side of the chest, again using his staff to move the chest out of the way.

We came here to talk and we're attacked by the trolls, but the more I see of this place I'm beginning to wonder if the trolls and the owner of the keep are not connected.

It would explain why the crafted dog was not friendly to the troll.

Stam rocks back on to his butt once taking the arrow, "Ouch, I should have brought Spugs with me."

Stam then retrieves the items inside, then returns to the others.

"I found these," Stam holds up the bag of coins and the goat figurine "I also found a trap that tried to kill me"

Stam goes to find Darius to help with the item.

"This items is magical but I have never seen it before, have you?"

When there is a moment Grergof calls the others over.

There is a door hidden there. It sounds like it leads back near the falls. Someone want to check it for traps before we try to open it? After that we should check the desk for papers.

Darius looks at the item once Stam arrives. "Honestly, I'm not as knowledgeable in the things arcane friend Stam. But keep hold of them, I'm sure they'll come in handy eventually. Lets go find the others. Probably best not to separate for too long in this place." Then Darius goes to find Grergof and Spugnoir.

Stam will step back then to the left a bit, behind Darius.

Stam will place the goat statue on the table looking it over, "well here goes."

Activating his magical sight Stam will concentrate on the object.

Spugnoir comes in with a bucket on his head. Hic He then looks around the pointed area for traps

The door has no visible traps but is locked.

Spugnoir fumbles around with his tools but doesn't produce the desired result in the first attempt. Maybe him seeing the lock double doesn't help with the progress.


Urrrr...I should make some alchemist's kindness. Hold on! I bet I could make some of that stuff out off the stuff here.

Spugnoir promptly does that using Swift Alchemy.
Alchemy: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27


Narrator

Spugnoir opens his backpack and takes out his portable alchemists lab (that he hopefully owns or he can't do nothing). He sets up the glass bulbs an burner and distributes the packs with the alchemical ingredients. He starts mixing the stuff and with his great skills he has the desired alchemist's kindness in about half an hour.


Just take a rest, folks. We deserve a little break after all the fighting we have done.

After mixing it up, Spugnoir downs the kindness and waits for his hangover to go away, he then tries the lock again.

Spugnoir manages to open the door after some trying. Behind the door a stone bridge leads to the next building. The one with the western wall missing. The bridge has no rails. Someone here seems to be allergic to safety measures.

Whine the potion is brewing, Grergof goes and looks through the desk and scans the library to see if he sees anything that might tell him what is happening here or is generally interesting.

Stam will help Grergof looking for any papers, also with finding the invisible person. Stam will go back to check on the room where the broken animate object was taken too.

The library has a lot of books about engineering. Provides +2 on Knowledge(Engineering) checks.

Besides that you can find out that there were some engineers that slept in the cramped bedroom (G12). There are plans lying around about how to repair the damaged building and the destroyed bridge.

With all the arcane knowledge and some observing with detect magic Stam manages to identify the invisible person as an unseen servant.

Stam will scoop up the plans, tucking them safely into his pack.

"Might as well return these in case we find the owner. The Person we saw was and Unseen Servant, simple magics but effective."


Bet you a copper that another elemental is waiting for us on the bridge.

As Spugnoir looks out over the bridge the unseen servant comes back and starts collecting the portable alchemists lab with dustpan and brush.

"I think we are making a mess here. Lets try to tidy up after ourselves there Spugnoir." Stam winks at him even though his back is to us.

"I can summon something to cross the bridge before us but my energies are running low."


Spugnoir hurriedly gets his stuff back. We could try sending over a few invisible people again. Having a sleep might be wise, we have an excellent place to fortify and then we could go over at full strength.
