Narrator

Read this. It should answer your question. And you may now remember the name as the monster gave a big broad hint about it :)

Spugnoir heals Stam with his wand.

Looks clear.

Thank you Master Truthfinder, I am in your debt.

"Nicely done friend Stam. Perhaps you are a warrior masquerading as a wizard." Darius says with a chuckle and slapping Stam on the shoulder.

HP 77 Ӏ AC 17 (FF 115/T 13) Ӏ CMD 18 Ι F+8, R+8, W+11 Ι Ini +6 Ι Perc +9

Stam buckles under the blow a little, rubbing at his shoulder.

"Mayhaps but I feel not, my poor walking stick has seen better days as well."

Stam then proceeds into the room, giving the beasts clearance enough so as to not loose anything of value.

Perception of the room, anything valuable?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Narrator

This large workshop is crammed with alchemical equipment, but an explosion of some kind has ripped away the western wall, leaving a large gap in the floor and wall open, now wreathed with scaffolding. It looks as if a stone bridge once connected this building with another on the far side of the gorge, but only a slender rope bridge now hangs between the two.

Knowledge(Alchemy):
The equipment in this lab is masterwork quality. The only drawback is that everything that was made from metal is now completely useless as it's either rusted or half eaten.

This was an excellent alchemy lab, but the rust monsters ate all the metal and it is useless.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

When they are sure the area is clear, Grergof pulls the chain shirt out of his pack and puts it on.

Then he helps the others search the area (but not the rust monsters) for anything of value that is salvageable.
Perception (to aid Stam): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Spugnoir pokes around the lab.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Spugnoir:
Under the debris you find a rod.

Spellcraft DC27:

Stam will look over the rod, allowing his magic to help him ID the rod.

Ok I HAVE to buy the spell Identify, I suck at this.

Narrator

There is nothing else in this building that is of interest. Obviously some alchemical reactor exploded and destroyed the wall and the bridge. And it looks like it has been some time since that happened.

You decide if and when you go on.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Grergof looks at the rope bridge with trepidation.

Then he pulls out his hemp rope and ties it around the most sturdy work table in the lab and holds up the other end. He the commands one end of the rope of climbing to tie to the loose end of the hemp rope. Then he command the lose end of the rope to tie securely around his waist.
I don't trust that bridge. Not one bit...

ok it's 90 feet from the table to the platform. We have 110 feet of combined rope, assuming we lose 10 feet to the knots/around Grergof, that gives us 100 feet.

Grergof makes a trial tug on the rope to make sure it is secure to the table and that the table will support him, then makes a trial step onto the bridge.

Assuming both seem secure, he says to the others.
I will try the bridge, you all cover me and be ready for me to fall.

Then when the others are ready, puts his buckler on his arm then, starts slowly and carefully across the rope bridge.

Spugnoir guards the rope and keeps his crossbow ready

HP 77 Ӏ AC 17 (FF 115/T 13) Ӏ CMD 18 Ι F+8, R+8, W+11 Ι Ini +6 Ι Perc +9

Stam will take out his crossbow as well, laying a bolt in the track and keeping an eye out for anything on the other side.

"Hold on a moment, I have a spell that can help you."

Stam will set his cross bow down, pulling out his spell book and pouring over it. Once he is satisfied with the proper enunciation of the spell he walks over to Grergof.

"Relax I will make you light on your feet and you won't have to worry about falling."

Burning a reservoir point to swap out Create pit for Levitate, lasts 6 minutes.

Narrator

As Grergof carefully walks over the bridge he notices a strange symbol in the middle of it. The symbol evaporates and out of nothing appears a humanoid shaped creature with black feathered wings and a fiery bow.

CLW: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 2 = 10

Narrator

The Erinyes hovers over the bridge moving a bit here and there looking for someone to shoot at. But it doesn't follow into the building. After a minute or so that feels like eternity it vanishes just in the way it appeared.

One end of the demolished bridge clings to the cliff beneath a large building. A statue of a beautiful nymph stands next to a pair of double doors. Above the doors is a stained glass window depicting a unicorn.

There. Try that.

Oh dear, I forgot to get extra rope. Umm...I can hang on someone I guess. Spugnoir will grip the rope when it comes over.
