Moira draws her rapier and moves to flank the frogman that Graythan is fighting. She moves slightly up the stairs to gain high ground advantage.

The floor is a mess of tracks. Many people have passed through here, it's hard to say how many. Track lead in and out of every door and up and down the entry way stairs. Most of you past interactions have with Lavinia have occurred in the library(3) or private dining room(12). One would imagine that her private rooms would be on the upper floors. I will say that there is no time pressure one the PCs at this moment, so no fear of picking the wrong way to go
Graythan Fist
"Seems a reasonable approach. Let's be on with it then." Graythan reloads his crossbow and nods to the stairs, taking up position in the rear of the group once more.

Justified is busting into each, once he gets a clear from the trap spotters. He will try to open the door and the let Moira pick the lock before breaking it down though.
Justified tries the door knob to room 27 as soon as he gets an all clear from the trap spotters.
GM Fanguar
Ok. I'm reading this a room by room search for Lavinia, as such I wont post the room descriptions. Feel free to go a check back later
Kicking in the first two rooms reveals well appointed bedrooms. A quick glance reveals signs of a struggle in the first room (25) and a dead frogman lays sprawled on the floor. The second room is pristine and has an uninhabited air.
Perc: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22, Perc: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
With Moira's all clear, Justified kicks in the last door (27). The room is dark and cloying; the shutters are closed, and the air smells of a rank combination of body odour and swamp mud. The desk, chairs, and most other furniture in this room have all been draped with white canvas dust covers, giving this room the eerie feeling of a tomb. Only the large four-poster bed in the northwest corner of the room has been uncovered, its dust covers lying in a heap at the side.
Four chairs sit in a row, each with a familiar face strapped to it. A bruised Lavinia sits in one and two others hold members of the Jade Ravens, Lavinia's other troupe of hired swords, both are slumped over, but appear to be breathing. The last holds the limp form of Kara Whistlegap, Lavinia's elderly halfling house servant. The poor thing's throat has been slit from ear-to-ear and the front of her dress is crusted in dried blood. A muscular half-orc stands, sword in hand, near Lavinia and disgustingly bloated Frogman sits in one of the chairs.
"That's close enough boy-o. Another step and the Lady gets it." Seeing that none of you are Vanthus, his brows furrow in confusion. "What's this then? Where be Vanthus."
Graythan Fist
"Stay your blade, Drevoraz, I presume? We've been looking for Vanthus ourselves. Harliss sent us to call you off these folk and said 'Parrots and Rum' might get to you listen before you did anything too rash." Graythan's glance falls over to the corpse of Kara, "A shame we were not quicker in arriving."
Justified*
|
Aye, and I was to be giving you this as well. He holds up the sapphire earring. You should also know that while his sister loves him, Vanthus would likely consider it a favor for you to get rid of the heir to this property. Your mission was misguided from the start.
Which one of your men decided that the old halting woman was a threat and needed to be murdered? We might need to keep the ear ring to compensate her family.
Moira Greyshadow
Moira stares at the fallen form of Kara and an anger begins to swell within her. Her grip on her rapier begins to tighten as her sight shifts over to the half-orc. Any reaction from her then Lavinia's life is forfeit. The grip lessens as she sheaths her rapier and she says "I hope you don't comply to stand down because you need to be put into your place....get your ass kicked."
GM Fanguar
Seeing the earring Drevoraz, eases up a bit, but still looks at you suspiciously. "Harliss sent ye, did she? The Cap'n, she aint big on forgiveness and no landlubber insults the Crimson Fleet and lives to tell the tale. So why she be wantin' to call off tha' raid."
For the sake of brevity, I'll just say you give a brief summation of the situation. As for the earring, Drevoraz wouldn't necessarily expect it back, though Harliss does.
At the end of your tale, the half-orc shrugs and slides home his cutlass. "Quite the sordid little tale, tha' fleet's business be with Vanthus and if he not be comin' back, thar be no point is waitin' fer him" He turns to Lavinia and gives a half bow, "Sorry fer tha' mess. Just followin' orders."
Turning back to the PC's he adds,
"I guess we be off then. If you be movin' outta tha way. We'll get ourselves gone."
Graythan Fist
"Sorry for the mess?" Graythan's tone is incredulous as he keeps his crossbow at the ready despite Drevoraz sheathing his cutlass. He nods to the murdered halfling in the chair, "Maybe you could dig a little deeper than just 'sorry for the mess', hmm?" His eyes shine brightly in the gloom of the chamber as they lock with the half-orc's.

"And so we dance."

Graythan's eyes flash as he summons a portion of Tyr's power to himself. He touches Justified's shoulder and The Even-handed's protective magics settle upon the injured man with a golden shimmer. With a glare, Graythan growls at Drevoraz, "Tyr's wrath take you, cur," as he slips behind Justified and takes up a better firing position at the north of the room.

@Justified: I don't think so. I haven't converted his stat block from 3.5 to pure pathfinder, but if I did(and I kept all the shitty feats they gave him), one handing it would be +9 and two-handing it would be +11. I'm not sure where the extra +1 is coming from, but I can't be bothered to dig out my old books to find out.

"I had been hoping for a little more earnest apology and an offer of compensation from you, Drevoraz. Violence here was your choice and, sorry for you, your death here will happen with Harliss' permission." Graythan punctuates his sentence by snapping off a shot from his crossbow. As the bolt slams into Drevoraz's shoulder, he draws a small, leathery pouch from his hip.

No problem on the build. I am always looking for good light weapon builds and was wondering how he did it. Just wanted to copy. :)
Justified 5' steps to offer Moira a flank and readies to attack while motioning for Moira to step and attack. .You made an error killing the halfing Drevoraz. Had you shown remorse we would not have had to fight. But as it stands you are a simply a murderer of innocents.

Not sure what the large blue rectangle is on the map. If its a table Justified climbs over it.
Circling around the frog-man Justified swings his weapon in an arc that is meant to trip the creature.
Trip: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
The fight is over. Stay down! he says in common, hoping the strange creature can understand the common tongue.
Moira Greyshadow
@Justified - The blue rectangle are the hostages. Fanguar stated this in an earlier post. 'You can move through it, but it counts as difficult terrain'.
Moira modifies her position in order to flank the creature.
"This....'thing'...is not gonna give up."
Attack, Rapier, flanking: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 2 = 16
The rogue lunges forward, with sword arm out, but fails in piercing or touching the creature.
"Come on guys.....let's finish this."
