I have been racking my brain on this character for a bit. I really had my heart set on a cysillari aasimar paladin, but since that is not an option I am building a musket master Goblin going into shield marshal reskinned for risur if you will allow it.

GMEDWIN |

Angus' theme is Veteran?
Why does your character have 1000 gp? And Banded Mail should be also too expensive.
A minor point there are no Shackles in Zeitgeist.
The theme is by far the most important part of the character, whether you choose the FEATs associated with the theme, is your choice but it is imperative for me as GM to know.

Savan Harn |

Savan has been fighting hard his whole life against stereotypes. He had to prove himself to become an apprentice gun maker. Fought hard to prove himself to the RHC. Even now he fights hard every day to prove he deserves to be where he is. The fight to prove himself has become his life and the driving force behind everything he does.

Hey everyone,
I want you to think read through the players guide and pick two sections of Flint.
The second Zeitgeist adventure, The Dying Skyseer, takes place in the
city of Flint, as do parts of other adventures. To help players learn about
the city, after the end of Adventure One and before the start of Adventure
Two, the GM should ask each player to pick two districts and come up
with a contact his or her character has in each district.
This contact could be a friend or family member, a criminal informant,
an ex-girlfriend, a merchant whose shop you frequent, a minor noble who
owes you a favor, a religious figure, or many other options. These NPCs
help connect the PCs to the city, and will come in handy as they investigate a murder mystery and other threats.
Just start to think about them.
Cool thanks!

Cretien Dufrene |

Central: Pardwight University. For this area i could use the guy we already met from there, or i could pick someone else. student, colleague, etc.
Bosum Strand: a merchant of some sort, perhaps a clockmaker or machinist.

Johnathan Eli Holbrook |

The Nettles: An old, impoverished, skyseer witch. When Johnathan's thirst for knowledge overcomes his fear of her, he visits.
Central (RHC HQ): The officer who first got him into the RHC, who Johnathan saved with his prophetic visions. They rarely see each other, but there's an unspoken trust between them.

Johnathan Eli Holbrook |

Liria, Skyseer Witch (The Nettles): A bent old skyseer. A direct descendant of the witches of Cauldron Hill. She lives in fear of being slain as well, posing as an addle-minded loon when in public. Has many ravens and gulls as pets. The locals are a bit afraid of her, but travelers and guards pay her no mind.
Hebel Ohmsford, RHC Officer (Central): A lively man in his late 20's, Hebel has proven himself extremely valuable to the RHC, although cocky. Some years back, he was investigating a particularly brutal band of thieves living in Flint, and the thieves caught on. They had planned a trap for Hebel, where they could catch him alone, torture him, and kill him. A strange beggar boy warned Hebel about this trap, and it saved his life. The boy was Johnathan, a skyseer.

Cretien Dufrene |

i didnt forget about the soldiers, Cretien just isnt going to use them to block an attack when his survival has no chance of helping the outcome

Savan Harn |

Pine island: Sergeant Major Geoffry Thomas Llewellyn-Walsh. Retired Military professional and professor of military science. Lead a heroic charge in the last war that broke the enemy line but at the cost of his own leg. Staunch patriot and all around stodgy old pedant.
Parity lake: Mama Task. The elderly goblin matron who runs tribes that work the little bits in the factory. If it were not for her the goblins would be far worse off than they are now. Caring and controlling, in a mother hits your hand with a wooden spoon for reaching into the cookie jar kind of way.

GMEDWIN |

OK, Congratulations!!!! We have completed book 1 of the AP(ok, there is room for a little roleplay before it fully complete but that's ok), anyway... feel free to level up your characters.
Just to clarify:
Chretien is a technologist
Savan is a Gunsmit or are you a martial scientist?
Johnathan is a Skyseer
Angus is a Vekeshi Mystic?
Merle is a Yerasol Veteran
Mithas is a Spirit Medium
In addition you will be receiving 1500 gp as a mix of stipend and salary so feel free to make purchases which you can use once we start book 2: The Dying Skyseer...

Cretien Dufrene |

nice! never had a character in Zeitgeist make it past the crowd in the scene before the ship. granted, i only had one chance before. hahaha.
I will get my character done this weekend.

Cretien Dufrene |

sooooo who is getting the whip and shield

Angus McCormick |

Contacts:
Couldwood : Flint Finubar , Ranger. Veteran of the last war. fought with angus. Currently in semi retirement but takes and odd job here and there
Bosum strand : Andy Morvan, Dockmaster and leader of one on the dockers association. Got involved with angus after the last war while angus with first hired by the RHC, in order to solve a corruption problem (he rose to dockmaster because of the case). They have been friends ever since.
yes theme feat is Vekeshi Mystic

Tenro |

Central: Pardwight University. For this area i could use the guy we already met from there, or i could pick someone else. student, colleague, etc.
Bosum Strand: a merchant of some sort, perhaps a clockmaker or machinist.
Characters will be Cephas Warren and Soryn Adril, respectively.

Mithas Aran |

HP: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Contacts:
The Nettles: Mama Gota: Wizened herb woman that deals in potions and poultices. She recognized that Mithas was a spirit medium and is the reason that he is not just another thug living in the slums.
Pine Island: One-eyed Jack: An old acquaintance from Mithas' years on the street, Jack now works as muscle for one of the bayou's infamous pleasure houses, The Gilded Lily, and serves as an informant for the RHC officer.
I would be willing to pitch in for a wand of CLW.

Cretien Dufrene |

no problems here on pitching in on the CLW wand.
hp: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Cretien Dufrene |

mechanus hp: 1d10 ⇒ 9

Cretien Dufrene |

Cretien is updated, except for the outcome of this question:
Is there a way he can put away some of his salary (like in a bank, or just ask for deferred payment)?
The situation that prompted this is that he got 1500gp. He spent 700 on a masterwork repeating heavy crossbow. That leaves 800, and he already has a sufficient compliment of scrolls and such. He would like to upgrade his armor, but that costs 1000gp. Plus, if money allows, he should chip in to the cost of a wand for the party.
So, barring a discounted weapon, or the ability to get a coin advance, he cannot accomplish his goals in this paycheck. Hence his desire to put some away to be used later.

Cretien Dufrene |

ok i will do that then, for 800gp minus whatever we agree on for shares of the wand

Tenro |

such an item would cost 528000 market price to enchant, plus the basic materials to craft the device. half that would be the cost of the enchantment materials, plus the cost of 528 6th level scrolls, as i do not have the spell on my spell list. (it would actually be cheaper to first craft an item of 1/day animate objects to avoid buying 10x the scrolls).
Spell level 6 * CL 11 * 2000 * 4 for a continuous animate objects effect on the carriage.
obviously something alchemically-powered would be cheaper but not as powerful. another option to reduce the cost would be to make it only a certain # of uses per day or something.

Cretien Dufrene |

certainly. just sorta running some quick numbers.
it's fine with me if it is a downtime thing. Cretien would certainly prioritize such a high-profile work of art. it'd make him extremely famous.

Angus McCormick |

so if we all pitch in a wand would cost 750/6 = 125 gp each.
Since angus can't buy the thing he wants he can lend 1000 gp to anyone who needs extra cash for an important item (or put the rest in the bank)

Savan Harn |

1d10 ⇒ 1 HP well I am definitely not a front liner.
+1 bab
+1 fort
+1 ref
+1 ac
6 skills just leveling what I have.
Really no real difference from first, gonna be a squishy second level. Also, is it OK if I spend the money to craft bullets instead of purchasing the wholesale. Kinda expensive class.

Merle Adaire |

I see everyone making up a couple of contacts for their characters but can't find out why they are doing so. Can my memory be refreshed without looking back through a million posts...and as a followup question, if I need to make two contacts, could the brave private Waterhouse serve as one of them...after all I owe him?
