Jaysin's first pair of arrows are deflected by the champion's shield. The second arrow is snatched out of the air by his free hand, but the third shot sinks into his flesh. He has a hard time guiding the 4th shot between Hania and the ruins. Chak manages to carve into him with 1 cut from his blade and catches him off guard as he pierces his flesh with his beak. Kaa manages to land one of his three attacks, corrupting him with negative energy.

The party retraces it's steps through the remains of the vanguard and catches up with the caravan. The most vulnerable part of the caravan travels near the base of a cliff where the sounds of ever-louder chanting echo from a shadowy cave. They have no special resistances, however they are incredibly beefy creatures and have rather good fortitude. They are also surprisingly speedy for their size.
Jaysin: The wagon will provide cover to the Bulette from your position.
Jaysin leans around the wagon and peppers the creature with arrows. The initial shots sink deep into its flesh, but the last arrow ricochets off of its thick hide and scatters off.
Hania moves up around the wagon and then rushes the Bulette. It snaps at her as she approaches, but receives a nasty wound for its efforts.

All of a sudden, 2 barrels (marked on map) leap off the carts and begin to move up the path. As the dust clears it's quite apparent that they are being carried by invisible creatures of some sort.

The ridge is rather high up, and you only really have a partial view of the scouts. A cover penalty will apply here, although you still land the first 2 attacks.
The yellow orc suffers a nasty barrage of arrows, although the final arrow glances on the cliff edge and misses the mark. Unable to see, it fishes around in it's pack for a potion.
The remaining 3 attempt to fall back, but one of them is caught in the ensnaring vines and merely trudges.

Kaa may want to reconsider his action for two reasons. First, he walking into the area of Chak's entangle spell and he doesn't have a good Reflex save. Second, Chak revealed some invisible baddies that were near him.
