GM Chyro |

Aww, is the sight of a musty chamber sleep inducing? :)

GM Chyro |

Ah, the ever returning problem of sudden maintenance.

![]() |

in game
That seems a little useless, as all of you are (technically speaking) after/before the skeletons already.
I don't understand what you mean. Ting is Nauseated so all he can do is move. He's staying out in the hall, so I just posted some fluff. That way you knew I knew it was also my turn. Did I miss something?
Maybe I shouldn't have used the term 'delays' I guess I mean he doesn't take any actions...

GM Chyro |

Ah, ok.
Yes, since generally delaying is waiting until a certain point in init, which would shift your turn.
Hence me saying so, since it's currently [you-them-you-them] already.

![]() |

...but Ting, with his criminal fingers of picking fury, manages to pick the lock.
Mind you that this is a hell of a feat to pull off at lvl 5. DC 28
Yeah, that's what I built him for. When he was first level I imagined he was someone the pathfinders would hire to get them in difficult places.
I looked at the map. So prone, outside the door; Staggered so one move action or standard action...
sounds like he could just reclose the door :-)

GM Chyro |

Are you sure you're not evil? :)
Having said that, i've read once on Giant in the Playground, about an epic scene.
Party was facing TPK, escaping from tough monsters.
The paladin was carrying a KO partymember, (which causes 1/2 movement, on top of heavy armor that reduces speed to 20ft), and the enemy was gaining.
The rogue, seeing his only chance of survival, closes the door behind himself, looking apologetic to the paladin, leaving said paladin and 'luggage' to sudden death. But the rogue escaped to tell the tale that way.

![]() |

LOL,
Nah, he's just twichy after the giant bug incident :-)
Love Giant in the Playground. I could see the Halfling ranger doing it, but surprised the ranger would.

GM Chyro |

^
Sounds like a sports-team motto/slogan.
Is it, per chance?

![]() |

No, it's Tim Allen's character in Galaxy Quest. His catchphrase.
EDIT: Also, just to note this, Mylv-whatever has been absent from the boards for about a month...

GM Chyro |

Before she went invisible, she PM replied to me that she estimated to return this week. Circumstances irl (serious ones) were part of it.
Either i or one of you can bot her until then, and we'll see whether she comes back next week or not.

![]() |

I got no such message and was running a game for that individual also.

![]() |

Hey Scorched One, really sorry I didn't message you.
I did them all in a bit of a rush and thought I'd got everyone: I missed another GM as well. I know that must be frustrating. Sorry again.
I will get caught up with Mylvwara asap.

![]() |

No big deal. That game is dead. I'll be sending you and Saya sheets once I report it.

GM Chyro |

Carr, how many ranks do you have in acrobatics?
Thinking out loud, may i suggest total defense with acrobatic withdraw?
Unless you have an epic surprise solution, of course.

![]() |

I have no ranks in Acrobatics. With my many penalties to it, seemed a poor investment.

GM Chyro |

Whatever class, 3 ranks acro = 2 extra AC on total defense for emergencies.

![]() |

Right, but I can't move, due to Lame and such, and then half speed for Acro? A horrible idea.

![]() |

My comp at home is down. I might not be able to log on on week ends, and partially during the week from work, for the next week (and maybe 10-14 days)
Please bot me as needed

GM Chyro |

Carr, how much PP do you have?
When a PC becomes an undead, especially a sentient one, it costs a resurrection to bring you back.
Assuming the team manages to destroy both the wraith, and you in wraith form, of course.

![]() |

Oh I'm dead. Most assuredly. Have barely half what I'd need and not nearly enough gold. So looks like first character death for me.

GM Chyro |

:(
And wealth, funds?
Boons to use?
I'm looking at the guide atm, and PP can also be exchanged for spellcasting cost reduction, at a ratio of 1 PP / 375 gp.

![]() |

I have 2k gold. I have no boons to use that would assist with this.

![]() |

I think we should just flee, especially if we don't need to worry about recovering your body.
This really sucks. The main problem I have with the whole thing is that we had no idea that there were undead spirits in Scrapwall whatsoever. It's hard for even mid-level characters to go against incorporeal creatures without any preparation. Ghost salt, or better yet, scrolls or potions of ghostbane dirge, make it a fair fight.
Was there no higher check than a DC 15 for Knowledge about Scrapwall?
It's been a long time since I read the book, but I seem to recall there being a rumor list or something.

GM Chyro |

I'd rather recommend flight over fight a this moment, unless you roll like awesome ownage.
The thing with resurrection is that you'd need a part, -any part-, of the resurrectee's body. As well as having destroyed their undead form.
The Scrapwall lore/Kn. Local checks, mostly involve the gangs. I haven't found rumors about the crashed vessel.

![]() |

Doing the third part of an AP volume can be tricky the writers often give clues and/or equipment early on which pays off in the third act.
For all we know, they could have handed out a load of anti-incorporeal laser cannons early on.
I apparently need a 20 for my archons to hit, which means an 18 for Mylvwara. And I am useless here unless I've had a chance to prepare spells for undead foes.

![]() |

Is this ship a side-quest or the main event?
I've lost track from being away from the table.
I don't have any useful spells against incorporeal foes so we will have to go shopping against these foes.
I also don't think we have any way to heal ability drain, so every attack we took trying to slay original-wraith+carr-wraith would stick. Again, until we found a caster and paid them.
So, yeah, I'm worried we might have to run away from this adventure if the ship is the main event.

GM Chyro |

Is this ship a side-quest or the main event?
It is a part of things along the way and, from having played this part of the campaign as a PC, it is linked to story mechanics if cleared.
Ability drain can be healed by restoration, afaik. It doesn't heal with rest.
I'm also not familiar with the writers so erm, what is this 'we're doomed!' ?

![]() |

Nic Logue is famous for his horrifying/distrubing adventures.
He's also an excellent writer, his stuff is great.
He also wrote Hook Mountain Massacre. The grotesque in-bred hill-billy half-ogres in that volume were, apparently, toned down from the original text. And they're still horrendous.

GM Chyro |

I checked....
He wrote the module Carnival of Tears. A must play for horror fans.
I remember it well, playing my scythe fighter. Or group was even slightly under leveled. It was challenging and eventful.
It was where my fighter almost met his 1st death at the hand of evil contraptions.

![]() |

I'm ok with fleeing and I'm ok with dying. If ting dies I don't have another pathfinder anywhere near fifth level.
I've 'earned' several 'sessions' from a sanctioned AP that I finished, Maybe with some help I could use some of those to build a new character. If that sort of think is allowed (I'm not really sure if it is or not)

GM Chyro |

You might be fine with his death, but i'd dislike for that to happen.
I mean 1 death can happen, but 2 outright sucks.
If you guys don't mind, i will recruit a 5th for this. You can finish the adventure, and decide whether or not you risk this encounter in the end. Sound ok?

GM Chyro |

Although getting out alive 1st seems priority.
Using the archon as bait will work, an air elemental did for our team.

![]() |

Somebody call for a healer?
I hope you enjoy cauterization....
Did I mention that I come with an adamantine longsword for tearing through enemies just like these so-called "Iron Gods"? I'll be happy to loan it out when and where appropriate.

GM Chyro |

Now to get out of the haunted spaceship alive....

GM Chyro |

Right.
The team was summoned on a last minute notice, to travel to Scrapwall, Numeria. It's a canyon made by a crashed craft. The person reaching out is an elf cleric, who offered to promote the society's reputation in Scrapwall, as the gangs and locals have been less than helpful/friendly towards the society, in regards to letting the society do their research and digging on their turf.
With reputation and respect being the two most important things of Scrapwall, the VC therefor accepted the offer.
The cleric's condition, was to remove The Lords of Rust, a brutal and savage gang that are top dog. They have been land grabbing and raiding a lot more as of late, hindering trade and supply routes. They worship an entity, an unknown one to the society, called Hellion.
Mylvwara, our wizard, has been pondering the idea Hellion may be a powerful outsider capable of lending divine casting, though the team has yet to encounter their clergy, to confirm this theory.

![]() |

I see you've been having serious undead problems...what about radiation, robots, or other high-tech stuff?
Does the party know its next move? What were you doing where you just were?

GM Chyro |

Whatever they will face in standing up to the Lords of Rust, is an unknown to them. The mentioned raiding parties from them have been humanoids so far. Ratfolk, orcs & 1/2 orcs.

![]() |

I'm going to a family reunion for the next three days, my posting will be spotty and I will be posting at irregular times. Please 'bot' me as necessary.

GM Chyro |

For convenience, the formulae for spellcasting services:
Spellcasting Caster level × spell level × 10 gp.
Lesser restoration: 1-4 ability score restored, no additional cost for materials.
[Cost: 3 x 2 x10 >> 60gp]
Restoration: All ability score dmg to one attribute of your choosing is restored. Requires 100gp material cost.
[Cost: 7 x 4 x 10 + 100gp mats >> 380gp.]
She has prepared spells, so you'd have to wait one day if you want her to cast those spells on you. But since there is no set time frame for the mission, that's a trivial matter.

![]() |

Lesser Restoration fixes ability damage but not drain: which kind did the wraith do?
If Lesser Restoration is what you need then I’ve got a wand for that.

GM Chyro |

It drains con.
I thougt the difference between ability score dmg and drain was drain was permanent (didn't recover with rest) until fixed.
Edit: Reading some more on the boards, and asking around, seems to result in Restoration being the thing used against drain. >_>
