Honestly, me as a player has never been overly concerned with who gets what loot, and always go with "What benefits the party most" option.
IMO, we take what a character needs, like Dend getting the +STR comp bow, rations, horses, etc... and everything else we just lump together and try and distill down to base GP value, and split 12 ways. I'm sure we'll get a stockpile of weapons and armor, and if it takes a few weeks for Oleg to sell them off or ship things to a City, we wait a bit for that GP.

I concur with Will. I can go alone with most systems but will likely not do my assigned accounting homework, if any. :) I will not be happy if we come up with a system where we sell items for gold when someone wants it who can use it but not afford it.

Castor Antares |

I've got a document up here that you guys can edit to stake your claims. Just write how much of the claimed loot you'd like, and it'll calculate values. (Feel free to claim something that's already been claimed in full. I don't want it to be "fastest posting first served.") When you've claimed what you wanted to claim, just enter something in the "accepted" column for your character.
I trust everyone to be responsible, now. ;)
Obviously, not all the gold will be gotten right now. I'm also still waiting for a price check on the horses, so the value may not be exact just yet.

Winifred Lebeda |

If a character cannot afford it, but would still be the one to benefit the most from it, it still stands to reason that that character should get the item, and I don't think anyone could reasonably afford the composite longbow (+2 str) or the poison ring at this point, but just because someone cannot afford something doesn't mean it will be sold, if something benefits the party for us to keep it then I see no reason to actually sell it.
A problem could arise however if loot is constantly skewed towards the martial classes and characters like Winifred find little interest in the offered loot, especially when others are interested. I do trust that the good captain will do his best to avoid this however.
I have no problem with Dendarial taking the +2 strength bow, it's of no use to Winifred, however Winifred could use gold to start saving up for expendables like wands and scrolls.

Winifred Lebeda |

Since a sorcerer has to use a full round action to use a metamagic rod other then quicken, I doubt I'll be very interested in them, but I might change my mind. Action economy wise however metas don't work well with spontaneous casters.

Brom Wolven |

Feeling the need to chime in here, but it's likely not necessary.
I think we're all experienced enough, and friendly enough, to be able to assist the less-martial classes with items they want (and 99% of the time benefit the party) when we start having the money and availability to obtain it. Lower level characters just find more mundane and less magic stuffs, just the adventurers way.
I'd hate to see those alch fires and comp bow go to waste.
In short, carry on! :)

Brom Wolven |

Forgot to mention this earlier... Sorry to see you go Kurgan! You shall be missed and with any luck you'll make it back eventually.
*raises a frothing ale to the thief and quaffs half of it in a single gulp* ;)

Sir Karse wants to a horse and a few trail rations, and for now, that's all he needs. Maybe later if we find a magical weapon or a significantly improved armor (plate mail).

Castor, Can you add my composite Long Bow to the loot sheet and credit me with 50 gold (If I receive the +2 strength bow)? Also, do not sell any arrows. Den will take (buy) any left over.

Castor Antares |

Sure thing, Dendarial.
Now that I think about it, I might actually claim your discarded bow myself, so I can shoot from horseback.
Document, relinked for convenience.
Reposting docs link.

Castor Antares |

The same value he would sell it for. Basically, when putting an item back into the pot, you get its sale price, and then it's treated as though it had been part of the loot, so it costs only the sale price to get. (Of course, each hand me down adds to the total value, increasing every share by a little.)
Don't forget to mark your "accepted" space when you're satisfied with your claims, by the way.
Also, don't be afraid of leaving notes with stuff like "If arrows go unclaimed, I'll take them" or whatnot. Google docs is awesome for that.

I am still waiting to give Rufus a chance to agree or disagree to Den getting the strength bow before confirming it on the sheet. We still have one more set of Chain Mail if someone wants to upgrade.
Question - Unless Oleg was fighting I am not sure he should get a share. His cut, if you will, comes from us selling things for half and he selling them for closer to full price.

Winifred Lebeda |

Oleg did in fact kill one of the bandits.
From the other thread,
One of the bandits rushes to the door of the house, only to be greeted by a large axe sweeping out from the door...
[dice=Attack]1d20+2
[dice=Damage]1d12+2...and is struck in the midsection and sent flying, quite dead, into the nearby table. Oleg raises his axe from within the doorway, saluting the group for their efforts.
I am still waiting to give Rufus a chance to agree or disagree to Den getting the strength bow before confirming it on the sheet.
Which is Rufus' way of saying 'It's all yours' if there was any doubt.

Brom Wolven |

I've seen him post... but that may have been entirely in their intro thread.

Theod only seems to be able to post once a day or once every other day, which probably wouldn't be an issue if we didn't have a few people (myself included) who can post 10+ times per day. I assume Trips has it under control.

GM Captain Trips |

I know I mentioned it in the Roll20 chat, but I thought I'd go ahead and do the same here since it has a slight impact on play. Earlier this week I was assigned to be the Pathfinder Society Venture Captain for Kentucky, and as a result I'm going to have less time than usual for posting, at least for the first month or so. I'm trimming back by PbP games to just this group once the rest of my sessions wrap up, which will help with managing the time I can spend doing PbP stuff.
As an additional result of this the weekends that I'm not at the lake or attending a convention will likely be filled with travel around the state visiting gaming stores and making contacts. So expect the game to be player driven over most weekends. I will drop in when I have a chance, but I don't be able to do much. I'll try to avoid getting into a combat situation that can't be resolved before Friday night on any given week.

GM Captain Trips |

Yep, I live in Louisville. I actually live closer to LaGrange than Louisville, on the very outskirts of Jefferson County.
Kentucky went without a Captain for quite a while. There are no VLs yet either. Its a one man show right now, thus the reason why I've been so busy with it so far, and it hasn't been a week. :)

Cappi Brightonspinner |

Alright everyone, today's the last day of vacation, which means that on Monday updates should be more consistent and detailed from Cappi. Trying to get in some quick updates on the phone or while the baby is sleeping is hard to do, and evenings are filled. Thanks for your patience!

Den, yes, you did meet me at MobiCon. My name is John Grigsby. I was appointed VC for Mississippi Gulf Coast region about three weeks ago.

![]() |

You should come over and visit us once in a while. We play every Saturday at maCnarB Gaming in Gautier, MS. It's in Singing River Mall, right across from the theater. :)

Cappi Brightonspinner |

Certainly. Cappi should be the one scouting out traps, and he'd be more than happy to don the ring. If no one else is looking at it, consider his hat thrown in the ring.
Also, has anyone identified that mysterious amulet yet?

Dendarial the Ken Hunter |

I remember you as well Karse (John). Cool that we are in a PBP together. Congrats to you on the VC job. I was tentatively offered the job for here in Alabama back a year + ago but I had to turn it down - I have a pretty high profile job in the community (VP of a small company) and promoting Pathfinder was not going to over well with my board. Yes, that sucks. I do what I can to promote the hobby and PFS specifically. I run games at cons and, as you know, run RPG gaming at Mobicon. But I keep a low profile here in my home town due to the job. I guess I am going to go down to POC and run some. You going to that con? And I'll likely run at Dragon con again. Can't really say no to Kyle and Nani.
Note that I am not that far from retiring so all that could change soon. My wife is already retired. Our goal was to retire by 50. "I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for those pesky kids", in college.
I would love to come over sometime and have been known to drive a very long way for a good weekend of gaming. That said, its a long way over there from north Alabama so you are gonna have to offer more than a single game to coax me over. :)

Castor Antares |

Both Castor and Winifred tried and failed at identifying the amulet, I believe. Tshilaba, mind taking a crack at it?
I'm all for Cappi getting the ring, also.
Still waiting on 6 OKs and a horse price check to declare the split ready.

Dendarial the Ken Hunter |

Den does not have to have a horse, and will only take one if there is one unclaimed. But long term I think we will all need horses, and even a few back-up. There is a lot of land to explore and any group traveling needs to have horses or mules to help carry supplies. And being mounted will increase the amount of territory we can cover.
One solution is to keep the horses community property...

Rufus Fitzroi |

On of the things about the horses is that from the sounds of things, none of them are trained not to react to combat, which means that there is a strong likelihood they will be a disadvantage in a combat situation, due to a likelihood of bolting or otherwise responding poorly to combat.

Brom Wolven |

I thought I saw light somewhere. .. I could be imagining things.

Hadin "The Pale" Cassoren |

Done for me. Hadin will gives his share of mmoney to Oleg and Svetlana.
The only thing that interest Hadin (but not for market value) is the stag's head pendant. Does it have any link to Erastil?
BTW, i'd like to know something about the Carpenter skill: does it allow you to create statues of wood, or would it be another skill (wood carving?)
