We're ready to roll! Quick question before Cappi acts: Is the helper map that Brom has up current? I want to make sure I'm working with all the available pieces before charging off into the black :)
It's not super current/accurate because in Roll20 I can only see what Brom can, which is limited compared to some others...
Not a problem, that gives me a better idea of what we are working with. And moving half speed, Cappi wouldn't be able to reach someone in one round anyway.

Apologies in advance if I seem curt or short over the next couple of weeks. I'm fighting for disability and getting nothing but flack, and we just found out that the store where my wife has worked as a manager for 12 years is closing in November. So we're kind of screwed. I will try not to let it come across in game, but just in case...
Also, if I am holding tings up, please feel free to GMPC me.
I've had two people in the past week tell me I should be fighting for it as well due to my hearing loss, but I can't really see how I would qualify. One of the women I spoke to says she actually gets 10% for allergies. Allergies? How in the world is that realistic.
I'm sorry to hear about those struggles Karse. One would be stressful enough by itself, but as a pair it's even worse.
But how is the VA responsible for overweight or allergies? Something tells me I should work this to my advantage, but the little angel on my shoulder keeps telling me there are vets out there who need it far more than I do, and I may only end up putting additional burden on an already shaky system.
I concur Trips. I do not want to come off as judgmental but in general I believe there are a lot of people that can work who choose not to. I am diabetic and have been told that that plus claiming I have a drinking problem (I don't but its hard to prove I guess) would likely get me some level of SS disability payment, but I just would never consider it.

Oh my, I handle disability for a living, and you would be AMAZED at what people try and claim disability for. Some exampled off the top of my head are; rough love making, loving their husband too much, their boss makes them work hard, they can’t wear flip-flops to work, people annoy them, they MIGHT get a head ache, being a single mother of 5 kids is stressful… I could keep going, but you get my drift. The world we live in has created a sense of entitlement for everyone, and drug companies and lawyers have built up an empire that feeds of peoples natural greed. Why work for my money, when I can get it for free and stay home?
Not saying people here are doing this, but it’s the society we live in. Did you know, that by the year 2020, over 75% of the world could have a diagnosed mental “problem” If you’ve ever pulled an all-nighter or went on a shopping spree and later on in your life have felt sadness, even years later for something completely unrelated, you could claim bi-polar disorder. If you’ve ever just wanted to be left alone, you are depressed and isolating. If you’ve ever lost your train of thought, or forgot something, you have a cognitive deficit. If you’ve ever worried about the future, you have general anxiety disorder.
Sorry for the rant, and I did not mean to offend anyone if I did, but I’ve spent years paying millions of dollars to people because they whined to their doctors and California law tells me I have to, and it’s still a sore spot.
By the by, if you live in California, you can claim disability for any condition as long as your doctor says you should be out of work. I literally paid someone $45,000 because they had diarrhea one day and their health provider was worried she might have another episode, and since she spends her days on the phone, it would cause an issue if she couldn’t end a call.
Firstly, I don't want to offend anyone here and I think lots of people are in genuine need of help.
I just love the differing schools of thought. My mom was one of 17 kids, and some of her living conditions included a modified chicken coop, barns, horse trailers... you get the idea. She warmed bricks for heat during Idaho winters. Really freaky stuff. So she's quite the naturalist now, not extreme, but you know, rub some dirt on it stuff is what I grew up with. Mental issues fell into the realm of IB Prophen. And my Grandpa even spent years of his life in and out of mental institutions. Crazy stuff.
My wife's mom is a germaphobe, milk left out throughout an entire meal need to get tossed, hand sanitizer, sterilizing everything. Checklists and top-to-bottom methodologies for cleaning... All veeeerrrrry different from my upbringing. Not worse, just different.
So me and my wife have been trying to gel these two ways of approaching health and medical stuff. I'm sure our efforts are nothing short of hilarious to an outsider. Basically its down to I do what I want and she has free reign over herself (obviously) and the kids. She definitely doesn't appreciate my lack of sympathy for many of her maladies... but I'm getting much better at faking it!
I'd be terrible at your job Mez. Because intellectually I KNOW many people need help... but I'd just be trying to rub dirt on everything. ;)
---On an unrelated note, I think Karse and I (and anyone else from our game I hadn't noticed) are very excited about your recruitment thread. Looks like it'll be a lot of fun for whoever gets in. I always appreciate quality GM's stepping up. Looking at you Tripps. :)

There is a reason I borrowed heavily from his recruitment thread, it said everything well and it saved me a lot of typing, lol.
It's a tough job because you have to try and weed out the mooches from the people that need help, and you hate it when you have to deny someone who actually needs because of policy garbage.

I'm trying to get disability for my depression, which has been plaguing me for most of my life (and I'm 47). It's an uphill battle; I won't lie. But this condition is what caused me to lose my last job and at that point, my counselor (who has been seeing me twice a month for 12 years) suggested that I try for disability. I have chronic clinical depression and occasional thoughts of suicide, as well as bouts of severe social anxiety.
My wife, on the other hand, had 13 hip surgeries before she was 5 years of age. She spent the first three years of her life in a body cast. She, quite literally, has a huge scar and a depression in each hip where steel pins were inserted when she was a baby. Currently, she is capable of walking, but suffers hip dysplasia, which in turn causes her hip pain and lower back pains. In addition, she has degenerative glaucoma. She has already lost sight completely in her right eye and the doctor has strongly suggested that she begin to learn Braille now, while her left eye is still functional.
The irony here is that she wants to continue working. She refuses to try for disability until she is blind and in a wheelchair (though the store closing may change that).
Super rough Karse, I hope you guys get what you need. Your wife sounds like a working machine!

Karse the bandit you're next to in roll20 is the archer 15' in the air, I believe. The one SE of Cappi is the axe wielder on the ground. Doesn't change your movement all that much, but no flank yet I think.
And I think/hope that Den's last shot took the archer out...

I think Den and his bird have three as well, between them. And I hope that with Cappi's help and Karse's distraction that he has just taken down the last one.
Yup, it's been a very positive experience. New scars, glorious battle, honorable death (hopefully not), but at least the dirt is nice and cool!
Also I was concerned about how to preserve the all the new scars, but rolling in the dirt should do nicely!
I was so hoping we could try and toss Cappi at the Archer above! When I saw that I got a little giddy... obviously Brom got overly excited. :)

He's got the +6, so he'll have a better chance than my +0. I also know a few skills I plan to put ranks in after all this fun if Will lives to level up. If we roll badly, I can always use my last CLW on him. It will leave Brom and Cappi at 1 HP when they wake up, but it's better than the alternative.
Yeah I'm really not too worried. Brom has 6ish rounds left, unless she attacks him again of course. Plus I've never had a character die... so if that should happen then I'm curious to see what happens. Not TOO curious, but a little.

Congrats!! I didn't try for that S&S game, but I was sorely tempted. I've started several and had them die out, so I'm kind of holding out for one I feel is super solid. Not that yours won't be... just being extra picky I guess.
Besides if I make it into the RoW game I'll pretty much be maxed out I think.
