Happy Birthday!

Tshilaba Vadoma |

Well, I've got good news for me and bad news for Tshilaba. Here's the rundown: I have been chosen to replace the keynote speaker at an upcoming conference. This means that I have to prepare seven 45 minute speeches (on pretty short notice, although I am very familiar with the material they want me to cover, it's why they chose me) on top of attempting to get ahead at my other paying jobs so I can actually go.
It's a good resume builder for me but it's bad for role play, at least for the next couple of weeks. I'll be able to post irregularly over the next week, and from about the 7th through the 14th, I won't have time to even read the thread. After that, things should settle back to normal and I'll be much more regular again.
Feel free to bot my elf while I'm gone if you are waiting on action, I'll see what I can do.

Brom Wolven |

Sounds like a good opportunity. Gratz!

Cappi Brightonspinner |

I deeply lament the loss of Thieves Cant as a language for the seedier vocations. In response, I try to pepper a bit of 18th century thieves cant in Cappi's speech (I know the periods are way off, but that's the bulk of the knowledge I have on thieves cant). So if stuff doesn't make sense, that's probably why. Context is usually quite telling.

Brom Wolven |

Man! With an init roll like that, Brom really is playing the lumbering ox quite well! :)

Cappi Brightonspinner |

Cappi moves at the same pace as a medium sized humanoid, it was the alternate racial trait swap he took :). For someone so reliant on positioning and deft actions, movement seemed important!

Brom Wolven |

Bah! I am an impatient SOB. :o\

not you Cappi, I think Tripps is trying to run a simul fight between the PC's in part 2, and our group rushing to their aid. Problem is, the top 2 ppl in part 2 seem to be away.
Everyone but maybe Dend will just be rushing forward this turn on our end. Dend, having the longbow, can get into range with just a 30' move.

GM Captain Trips |

I'm sticking to my one post per day rule. I know of one person who has informed me that they are unavailable for a few days, but the lack of response today has been a little disconcerting.
I'll give it till the morning, then I'm moving this along and noting those that failed to meet the posting requirement. I don't want to hold up combat like this with initiative. They will just miss their turn while getting distracted and smelling some flowers.

Cappi Brightonspinner |

Oh, haha, yeah. I'm out of town with the family and assumed I was the one holding it up as I can only check in sparsely. But I'm trying to make sure that if I can't contribute much at the moment, I can keep it rolling.

Just a heads up, I will never be able to see a roll20 map. It isn't compatable with IE, which is my only web browser. If Brom or whomever wants to keep posting the map on google, that would be great, otherwise I'll just try and be as descriptive as possible with my directions, and let you move me as you see fit.

Tshilaba Vadoma |

I found out last night that the conference will be held at a camp in the back woods that has no internet access. When I leave on Sunday night, I won't be able to even check things until I return on Saturday. I will be very regular after that, and depending on things go, just leaving me at Oleg's for whatever reason and having me join up later might be the best option. I also don't mind being dragged along as Tshilaba tends to daydream a bit and may not speak for a while. Feel free to use him as needed while I'm gone.

Brom Wolven |

I'll continue to update google map. It may not be as current as Roll20, but I'll do what I can. :)

Brom Wolven |

lol, Brom is loving the buffs!
@Cappi - I'm surprised. I've never known a rogue to run from a perfectly good sneak attack. :)

Cappi Brightonspinner |

Haha, what a shame right Brom? I'm trying to play Cappi as someone really tricky/creative rather than go for dpr. Which is why the filcher archetype won over the knife master. So in this situation: if gates were closing I thought you'd all prefer someone sneaky on the inside.

Brom Wolven |

Yeah, I'm definitely not complaining, in fact I find it incredibly refreshing. :)

Brom Wolven |

Just for some clarification -
We were down to two remaining bandits, an Archer inside and a bandit (knife wielder?) outside. Cappi just did a double slasher move on the archer (according to his description) who died (according to DM resolution), leaving the lone bandit outside I thought. But now we seem to have one bandit (also an archer?) running away inside the fort and the last bandit outside is no longer mentioned. At least that's how I read the last few posts.
Roll20 shows two bandits without red 'X's on them, one just outside the gate and an archer in the nw corner behind a building.
Could someone clarify for me please? I'd appreciate it.

GM Captain Trips |

Due to running two different combats with multiple opponents I lost track of who was killing who, and Rufus had already downed the archer. So at GM's discretion, Cappi took a 5 foot step and murdered the knife guy.
I do not recommend ever trying to run two threads of initiative at the same time and fitting in the pieces. It is enough to drive a man to tears.
In short, 1 bandit left, and he is showing a good pair of heels right now.

Brom Wolven |

Got it, and he's the archer looking bandit inside the fort, correct?

Brom Wolven |

Oh wonderful. :)

Brom Wolven |

Oh, so we can post our actions as we want for the round? Excellent! I wasn't sure if we were trying to go in order within the group or not still. CHAAAARGE! :)

Rufus Fitzroi |

Good Captain, once everyone from the secondary thread has posted into this thread, would you please close that campaign? Or are you going to keep it for later?

Rufus Fitzroi |

I feel like I'm coming off as an overbearing ass right now & I apologize. Rufus was really hoping the conflict would not end in effectively a complete massacre of the Bandits & he's dealing with the emotional fallout from that.

Brom Wolven |

Meh it's fine.
I must say my favorite was the OOC text 'if Castor can't be bothered' lol. A little of Rufus coming through on that one? :)

Yeah, that really didn't belong there, sorry.

Brom Wolven |

Same goes for me! :D

Rufus Fitzroi |

I actually got the Rabbits bit from reading over another PbP here on the boards where the GM had the Sczarni use the term as a pejorative for Elves, so as much as I like it as well, I can't claim the idea.

If everyone feels they have everything they need from it I can close it. I won't be using it for the next split.
Been a busy afternoon. I'll post up in the gameplay shortly.
