Is it just me or there's not any post of mine yesterday? I'm pretty sure I posted and I even edited the post!! Did anyone see that?

Gobbo!

I didnt see anyone but Corentin and Sasha post in the gameplay thread. Maybe the board monster was hungry and ate it?

Although I had previously had the feeling that I posted and I didn't a couple of times, this is the first time I'm pretty sure I did post, so I guess we will never know...

Guys, I'm having some trouble remaining awake due to exhaustion, so please bot me for the moment. I'm going to heal us, but please bot me for today, I'll probably be better tomorrow.

Gobbo!

Hey all, sorry for my absence most of this week. I was off site dealing with an issue on Wednesday and yesterday, and sadly the issue involved no connectivity to the internet. Still getting caught up this morning, but I should have a post up soon.

Godling 6 | AC 21 T 12 FF 20 | HP 56/63 | F +6 R +4 W +6 | Init +1, Perc +8, 1st 2/7, 2nd 1/6, 3rd 1/4, Cha 0/5, LL Gz/Sa/Co/Ga/Sz

Sorry for my absence as well, I'll certainly find time to catch up tomorrow, but please don't hesitate to bot me.

Please note I'm going away for a week and some, starting Wednesday, with very limited access to the Internet, and most likely only through my phone. Please bot me as needed. I'll likely be back to normal posting around September 13.

Sorry for the delay in posting. This week and next are going to be a bit hectic on my side but I'll try and stay on top of things.

Gobbo!

Folks. I wanted to take a moment to get a pulse for how we are feeling about the game. We've now spent one month in two rooms (one of which was completely empty), which honestly is just too slow of a pace for anyone to be willing to accept. The posting has honestly dropped to an abysmal rate and I'm wondering if folks have just lost interest in the game completely. We've had about 14 total posts in the past two weeks from players, not counting my own posts, which breaks down to about a post per day total. At the post per day per player guideline that number should look more like 50.

While I am not going to shut down the game at the moment, something needs to change. That is unless everyone is completely happy moving along at a snail's pace. If it is a matter of how I am running things I am very open to suggestions that will help.

Loot List M gnome wizard (shadowcaster) 6 | HP 44 | AC 13 | T 13 | FF 11 | CMD 11 | Fort +5 | Ref +5| Will +6 | Init +2 | Perc +2

In general, I would like to see the pace pick up. (To a reasonable level, mind you, I was once in a game where there was ~40 posts a day. Had to drop out of that one.)

Giz is a support caster, otherwise I would be kicking down every door. (I'm a melee character at heart.)

One thing that I find, as a GM, that can help to keep things moving is to either ask if the PCs are ready to move on, or just arbitrarily kick down the next door for them.

Gobbo!

I hate to force actions on players, which is why I generally wait for your actions to dictate the next encounter or thing. However, that is one possible solution to it all. But if you die, its not my fault :)

I'm definitely still having fun and interested in the run. I think we just ran into a lot of end of summer events with one or multiple people away or delayed. I'm hopeful that things will start to smooth out and pickup again as we move past it.

Still having fun on this end and I would hate to see the game close. I've been at a con over the weekend, and had hoped to be able to post more, but that's past and I'm back in action.

I'm back. I was a week or so without Internet at all. Which was weird in an interesting way.

I agree with Corentin. Summer is hard on games as most people are away at different times. Things should pick naturally.

That being said, dungeon crawls are tough in PbP. One way we could try to solve this is to have a leader for exploration, who makes all the decision, with SOP for door opening and positioning. For example, if there are sounds or no sounds, etc. That way, one player can drive the group through most of the standard decisions.

This part of the dungeon is also particularly challenging because we're trying to avoid the courtyard and alarming the defendants. Furthermore, those damn manticores in a cage we're harder because the cage gave them an advantage for our melee-oriented group.

I'm hoping we can improve the pace and keep this game interesting for everyone. I find it a blast :)

I really enjoy the game, otherwise I would not have followed and asked to come back when I was removed due to lack of time. I'm still facing trouble and usually I'm arriving home exhausted at night, which is when I'd usually post.

Good thing is, worst is over, so I'm having everyday a little bit more time to read and post, but please forgive me for still not being able to do that every single day (like yesterday). Kick some doors down guys, Jaghal is backing you up!

Well, since we don't have any one who could disable a trap, even if we found it, I say Corentin is always the point man.

Also, I'm a huge proponent of the right-hand rule of dungeon exploring. Door on the right is the default, unless otherwise noted.

Funny you say that Giz, I once read a book where the main character went into a temple (or something of the sort) and chose the left door as left was considered the divine direction (again or something to that effect). For some reason that rather insignificant tidbit always stuck with me and has me favoring left in explorations.

Left and right preferences aside I agree it makes sense to have Cor be our door kicker. So perhaps SOP is to have Sasha listen and give the door a once over, Giz can use his arcane sight and then (assuming no feedback on either) Cor will open and enter?

Jumping back to the current situation, Sazcha does the miss chance for spirit totem apply to everyone taking rage or just to Szacha himself?

Everyone taking the rage.

Just an FYI for all my games, I am in training this week and will be otherwise indisposed during my usual posting hours. I will try to get at least one post per day up during my lunch break, but please excuse me if I am unable to squeeze that in.

I don't see why the spirits couldn't crit. Generally stuff with an attack roll can and there's nothing in the description that says they can't.

Is it wrong that I'm almost as excited to see Jaghal's reaction to being tripped as I am to seeing if we've dropped the giantess?

Not sure how much is meta gaming and how much is what Cor would want to do but we might want to check a bit more in the keep to see if we find any signs of Calrianne's ancestor. Beyond that Cor is all for getting while the getting is good.

Gobbo!

Basically, with the exception of the closing montage, you all are done with book 2. Anything you do now is purely a side mission type thing. There are tons of encounters in the keep, so you are welcome to spend as much time as you want there. However, it won't make any difference in exp since I am doing things based on chapters.

Once you are ready to leave the keep the suggestion in the AP is to hand wave the exit and trek back to Trunau, and that is the plan I intend on following.

Female Halfling (avenging) Hunter 7 || HP 64/64 (64/64 nonlethal) || AC 16/13 Tch/14 FF || F+7 R+7 W+4 (+2 vs. fear) || CMB +5 CMD 17/15 FF || Init +2 || Perception +12
Galor HP:

I'm ready to move on if everyone else is. As we don't actually get experience points, instead progressing at the rate the book suggests (and don't get me wrong, I like doing it that way), I'm hesitant to fight just for the sake of fighting. All the risk for no rewards, so to speak.

In that case, let's do just that. Grab the loot, hide in the sewer until night and flee under the cover of darkness.

Combat takes forever in PbP, so I fully support skipping any unnecessary fights.

I agree we cut what can be caught. Rhythm in PbP is key.

That being said, I'd love it if we could come up with a plan that will send the whole place in flames of succession mayhem. Of course, this can be part of the montage :)

Gobbo!

Hey all. Sorry for my absence. Today is my first day back to work after being laid low with a stomach bug. A renaissance fair turkey leg was the likely culprit, and has earned my eternal enmity.

Too authentic for my tastes! Although I have to say, it was delicious going down. The only reason I feel it was the guilty party is that my wife was also ill and its the only thing we both shared. So it was either that or we picked up something from all the scrawny little nose-picking urchins that people felt required to bring along with them to the fair. :)

I've updated Szacha.

I'm debating spells. Here's my list. I've put a * besides those that are pending. As we have many casters in the group, it might be good to discuss synergy.

Spells Known (6 x lvl 0): Dancing Light, Detect Magic, Know Direction, Ghost Sound, Read Magic, Summon Instrument.
Spells Known (5+FC x lvl 1): Grease, Hideous Laughter, Vanish, Silent Image, Saving Finale (FC), Charm Person (FC), Expeditious Retreat*.
Spells Known (3 x lvl 2): Blistering Invective, Mirror Image, Suggestion, Heroism, Bladed Dash* (FC).
Spells Known (2 x lvl 3): Good Hope*, (Haste or Invisibility Sphere)*.

I could take slow, instead of haste, but my guess is that, in the long run, I'm better off focusing on buffs.

I'll try to do an updated loot list/PC payout this weekend.

@GM: What type of equipment is available to purchase/requisition in town. Are there any scrolls available for purchase?

Gobbo!

Trunau isn't huge, but there are magical goods available thanks to a few of the shops. I would say you can pick up pretty much any 1st and 2nd level scroll, with a chance for 3rd and 4th. That would be the limit on scrolls. Most potions would be available. As far as arms and armor, +2 total enchantment would be the limit. If there is something specific that anyone is looking for I'll consult the town info and make a roll accordingly.

Understand that while you are working to defeat a much larger threat, there isn't an actual timeframe involved. Which means if you want to take the time to travel somewhere for better gear, that is an option. Also you do have time for research, crafting, etc.

Loot List M gnome wizard (shadowcaster) 6 | HP 44 | AC 13 | T 13 | FF 11 | CMD 11 | Fort +5 | Ref +5| Will +6 | Init +2 | Perc +2

Thanks for the info.

Also, how much does the AP list the value of the +1 Ironwood breastplate for? RAW you can't cast permanency on ironwood, so I can't figure out its value. Thanks.

@All: I've updated the loot list and am currently pricing it out. Let me know if there is anything on there you want, otherwise I'll just sell it all (link above profile pic).
