GM Brunoreturns |

@Squint From your current position, the goblin will have cover from a combination of the door and the angle down into the pit. Moving into the doorway will eliminate the cover penalty. I just want to make sure the situation is clear

![]() |

In that case, Squint will move into the doorway and plan to shift out after his action next round to allow Barkot to fire without an obstructed view.

GM Brunoreturns |

Squint drops a ball of acid on the Blue goblin's head, burning flesh and hair. The goblin looks very unsteady, but remains standing.
Meanwhile, the dolphin slams its snout into the Red goblin's legs, bringing forth a squeak of pain.

Celia Hillore |

Celia is alarmed at the sound of the turning winch. The warrior woman yells to her comrades in the next room, Guys! People!!? Someone get in here and help me! There's a Gob in here that, dived behind some crates and I can't shoot Him....Does one of you have acid or alchemist fire so we root him out?....Guys hurry up! It's winding up some type of machine or trap or something! She blurts all this out while making her way around the edge of the pit in order to get a better angle at the ugly little goblin. When she arrives she levels her bow waiting for an opportunity and/or the Goblin to poke it's fat head up.
Action economy, Celia yells to the others as a free action while moving around the edge of the pit. There she stops with a Readied Standard action To shoot the Goblin once he is no longer under full cover.

GM Brunoreturns |

You recognize the sound as the winch that readies the string on a heavy crossbow :D Didn't mean to alarm you.

GM Brunoreturns |

@Celia, I apologize for not mentioning it earlier, but the ledge in that room slopes in toward the pit
Moving around requires a DC10 Acrobatics check to avoid slipping. As normal with balancing, this would be movement at half speed

Backalley Barkot |

Barkot holds until after Squint's turn, to give him time to move further in or take a step back after acting.

Celia Hillore |

OK retcon in progress...Will move Celia back a few squares is she makes he acrobatics check If not will assume she falls in the pit. If Celia does make her acrobatics check please continue to allow her readied action to fire at the Gob as soon as he pops his head up.
acrobatics (balance): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Celia attempts to position herself for a better shot at the ugly little gob when he pokes his head up again. However, she fails to notice how steep and slippery the ledge is, in her rush to gain a tactile position advantage...She slips and falls in to the mire below. With more than her pride bruised Celia immediately stands up after falling in to the filthy muck.
revised action economy. Celia moves..(fails acrobatics check) slips falls into pit, stands up from prone at bottom of pit.

I would have posted a Fort save right away, but I wasn’t sure if that only applied if a PC fell off the board vs. jumping intentionally. Sorry for the confusion - I have updated the map as well.

Paeral, I will allow you to take a different action or to hold that shot for a visible enemy, as there are no enemies available at the time of your shot
The crew in that room look around to assess their options.
The plank is leaning up against one wall. The walls themselves can be climbed. They are slick and require a DC15 Climb check. There are sewer pipes that the goblins emerged from. Moving through them will require squeezing for a Medium character.

GM squint has mentioned something about elections and being busy. You may want to bot him.
I'm not involved in any elections, and please don't bot me.
Squint dismisses Celine after silently thanking her for her quality work. He then looks at the ladder and wonders if he could use the rafters above to climb towards the doorway on the far side.
Making up his mind, Squint holsters his crossbow and climbs up the ladder into the rafters.
Dismiss summoned creature. Climb ladder into rafters. Begin crossing rafters next round.

GM Brunoreturns |

Squint, I will give you a chance to respond to Reillana before climbing on the ladder.

Squint whirls around at Reillana's warning.
"Wha----?" He releases a rotten ladder rung, though the rung comes off in his hand.
"Wow!" Squint exclaims. "That's rotten!" Squint glances out at the plank half-sunk in the sludge and tilted up on the far side of the room. He squints at Reillana. "I don't have a rope! How do you think I should get across?"
Squint halts, unable to find a way to cross without some assistance (or without getting into the muck).

Note - if tying the rope around his waist takes a standard action instead of a move, he will tie it around his waist and offer the coil to Reillana or Paëral to throw, explaining his idea. Even if he has enough actions to do it, they should be able pick up the rope and try again if he misses.

I think it is fine. It may not be 100% legal, but I don't care. There is a rope tied to Barkot that is now dangling on both sides of the doorway

GM Brunoreturns |

I haven't looked at the map yet, but I imagine you are attempting to climb up to the interior of the house. Paeral is standing on that ledge at the moment, so I'll consider that action to be a ready for once Paeral moves out of the way.

GM Brunoreturns |

Yellow pops up again and sends another bolt at Celia.
@Squint, the wooden walls of the house could be climbed. I think it is "only" DC 20 :D You could also still try your luck on the ladder. It might not break. Maybe you are light enough... *whistle*

Yeah because of my "readied action" I should be first in initiative order now. I'll wait till the top of round 7 to shoot again. I assume Yellow is still visible? (ie. he hasn't had time to duck back down behind the crates again?)
