Yes, Ischell is flanking with the Elemental

Ischell hits with both of their attacks, taking down the canine creature.

Looks like I missed the 12 Damage that the earth Elemental had done in my previous update.

As Ischell drops the green-furred wolf, Zarnel gives him a nod of approval. "One last minion," he comments as he shifts his focus back to the fore.

"See no Evil. Abide no Evil," he intones to himself as his boots dig deeply into the loamy soil propelling him towards the half-orc and letting his momentum power the attack.

Double move action and free action to open the portal. By my count, the trees are about 110 ft apart. I marked them on the map with a blue circle.

Adjusted the exit point, it had to be a live tree not a fallen one.

The earth elemental manages to knock out Red.

Nigel calls for the spirits to open the portal. The tree in front of him suddenly opens up, the bark peeling back to expose a hole you can step through. You can see out the other side.

Nigel steps through and is near the fallen log that goes over the water.

Keeping it in rounds so people still get a chance to act.

I’m going to open this up more, so we can finish the encounter faster.

Please just move yourselves to where you want, record how many rounds it took you and if you went through the water or tried to balance on the tree. If balancing on the tree, please include the Acrobatics checks.

Do up to three rounds worth of actions including attacks on the seed pods. Break it up by round.

Hopefully this will allow us to complete this faster.

You could also do Knowledge Nature checks to examine the seed pod.

Mun quickly motions that Selune follow him, and the pair head through the portal that Nigel opened. Mun tries to make his way across the branch with some difficulty. (That Acrobatics roll is borderline; this may need a retcon)

He swings around to the far side of the small island, Selune on his heel, and now he decides that Ashava's aid will be welcome. "Strength, Ashava; we need strength to purge this evil from this land." He sends Selune forward, and stabs with his own spear in her wake.

Round 1 of the 3 spent moving as previously indicated.

Round 2. Ding!

Zarnel carefully considers the battlefield. Knowing that he has to move to get close to the seed pods anyway, he circles around to make room for his allies to approach.

Perhaps it is time to let loose the hell beast and its infernal fire.

As his sword lights up with black flames, and his golden skin shifts and flows to inky blackness, he shouts out his litany to Vildeis hoping that she will forgive him.

Then he slashes at the horrid plant.

Attack, Raging, Bless, PA/FF: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 2 + 1 = 20

Selune dutifully follows Mun, finding her path across the branch much easier than her elven master. She follows in lockstep until he points out the seed pod as a foe. Though strange, she wastes no time in stepping up and gnawing and slashing at the thing.

Actions:

Round 1
Move: 40'

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Damage, P, bull's strength: 1d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8

Damage, S, bull's strength: 1d4 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 2 = 11

Edited to add flanking in 3rd round

Mun is partway across the branch when they lose their balance and fall in the water. Selûne watches him fall, but continues to the other side.

Mun takes 1d8 ⇒ 1 damage falling prone in the water, and another 1d8 ⇒ 5 as they move out of the water.

DC 13 Fort save to half the damage from moving out of the water.

Mun does manage to hit the seed pod once, but does not do full damage. One of the times that Selûne attacks it, they don’t do any damage!

Zarnel lays into the pod and on his last hit manages to break it. None of their hits do full damage.

Everyone within 15’ take 4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 3) = 11 negative energy damage.

DC 13 Will save for half

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Congratulations! You have destroyed one of the seed pods!

One special success. Our table is the first to report a success here!

Able to resist some of the blast, Zarnel then quells the rage and lets the fire of his blade go out. His skin returns to its normal golden hue as he steps toward Mun and Selune.

"Are you both okay?" he asks as he pulls out his own wand. "It is proper to care for one's teammates first, if you need it."

Either way, he then turns the wand upon himself.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

"Mmmm, that's better," he murmurs, though he still seems a bit out of breath.

Fatigued from the rage for 4 rounds after the fight ends (or 3 rounds after using the wand.) If it matters.

***OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT***

Strands of purple energy whip across the battleground and begin to swirl above the remains of the giant flower. The continuous chant of the Twinhorn shamans reaches a fever pitch and then suddenly stops. After a breathless moment of silence, a loud reverberating boom echoes across the swamp as a column of purple energy pierces through the clouds, dissipating into the starry sky. Shouts of celebration begin to sound across the field as Medda makes her way to the heart of the blight. A shaft of moonlight shines on the site through the parted clouds as she rips through the withered roots of the blighted flower. Medda reaches in and draws out the shriveled remains of a female crusader. In stark contrast to the rest of the remains, her silvery breastplate glimmers in the moonlight. A grievous blow has scarred its surface where a golden engraved figure spreads out her wings. Trails of blood seep out from scars running across the figure. Medda lowers the remains gently upon a white cloak that a Twinhorn warrior has placed on the ground.

With a heavenly glow, the ghostly form of Ivvora appears in the clouds above. “She was my sister-in-arms against the vile Tar-Baphon. I now know that her sacrifice spared me all those years ago, as it will all of you in the days to come. Go with Vildeis’ grace and use this blessed plate to vanquish my hated adversary. Hurry back north, for the moment of Eshimka’s reckoning draws near!”

Medda looks up to the sky as the visage of Ivvora dissipates, the red phantom hand of Anok floating above her shoulder. After a moment, she kneels next to the crusader’s remains and carefully wraps them up in the white cloak, which is slowly soaked with red. She looks at the crowd gathered around her and speaks up. “We stand here triumphant, having rid this land of corruption. But this is a mere shade of the darkness that awaits us at the Solstice Scar! Fear not, for Vildeis’ blessing will guide our weapons to strike true and eradicate Eshimka for good!”

Medda motions for the Twinhorn warriors to raise the bundled remains on their shields as one of the honored dead. “Pathfinders, you have done much for my tribe and our lands, but I ask you once more to lend us your weapons so that we might end the evil that haunts Solstice Scar. What say you?”

This concludes Solstice Scar, Version C. Table GMs, thank you for all your hard work! When filling out chronicle sheets, please note that the house has earned the Fangwood Purifier boon.
