DC 13 Fort or pass out croco... Also, I think the grapple misses my AC again.
Hanzo seems calm as the crocodile bites and grabs at him, and punches the reptile in the throat as soon as it's exposed!
And that is your weakness. Your arrogance in your simple abilities. Now sleep.

![]() |

@Hanzo. There's no concrete ruling on this, but this is what i'm leaning towards. So Snake style only applies to AC, to see if the attack "hits", since the bite hits you, the grapple check would then be compared against your CMB and not your AC which was replaced by sense motive. So in that sense I'm incline to rule that you were grappled. Make sense?

![]() |

Works for me. I'm not too concernicus about it. I don't expect to be invincible.

![]() |

Wait a minute! How did Hanzo make an attack? It's not his turn yet. Also after the bite attack, Hanzo seems to be at -1hp!
Guess most folk are still out. So will slow down the game slightly.
Dax attack certainly misses it's aim, and Hanzo looks to be in a bit of a bind as the Croc's bite hurts him quite a bits, making him unconscious.
Combat Round 2
Current conditions:()
Hanzo -35 (-1hp) (grappled,unconcious), Ai(Delayed)
Croc -36 (grappled)
Selter ,Talon,Dax, Bambang
Fox -16

![]() |

Bambang ignores the commotion behind him, focusing on the Fox. He calls on his sword to enhance his weapons, then he steps forward, grabbing the scroll fragment, opening himself for an attack from him. Do I need to roll anything to grab it?
"Call off your reptile and surrender!"
5-foot step forward, standard cast lead weapons, move action grab scroll, free action to threaten.

![]() |

Nothing to roll here, although I did mention grabbing the scroll provokes an attack, because the fox was staggered he did not draw any weapon and hence does not threaten you when you reach to grab it.

![]() |

Sorry, I should be back to regular posting now.
Hoping he’s not too late, the Trog-Talon grows a pair of horns and unleashes with everything he’s got on the croc.

Ai looks at the fox for a heartbeat, confused. "Sorry, I swear that's never happened before! It usually feels more like this!" She focuses her mind, pushing her father's best comedy routines at her foe's consciousness. Hundreds of pratfalls, one-liners, and rotten tomatoes assail his mind.
Casting Hideous Laughter, DC 17. Since he's still stared, he'll get a -2 to Will.

Bambang snatches the piece of paper of the fox, leaving the team with only one remaining piece, lying on the table next to the crocodile. Talon, strikes the crocodile with a fury of attacks, pulverizing the crocodile leaving it unconscious. A little portal opens from the floor under the crocodile and he disappears into the abyss of nothingness from within the portal.

I was updating this the same time Selter posted! Talon has successfully taken the croc out, so Selter may redo his actions.

![]() |

Hanzo stumbles up, groaning.
It seems the crocodile's fighting style was superior to my own... Thank you for your aid.
The monk then starts to move toward the fox, a determined look in his eyes.
Give up now. You have lost this battle.

![]() |

"What? Surrender? Hah! You'll have to catch me first!" The fox acclaims over the top of his voice, with a breath of confidence. You'd think he was winning the battle with the confidence he displays. And without a beat he draws a rapier and attempts to strike Bambang. However his swordsmanship does not match his articulate expressions, as the rapier wobbles too much for him to control it.

Dax decides to provide aid to Hanzo, not wishing for the fighter to die in this lamentable fracas.
Healing: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17If you accept this healing, you must take 1 nonlethal damage per hit die you possess, which can only be removed by rest. But +17 -5NL or whatever is pretty good.

Talon rushes past the spot where the crocodile disappears, running up next to Bambang and reaching out to try to grab the fox-man.
Move up and grapple (this provokes from him)

Bambang returns the favour, swinging his enhanced greatsword mightily towards the Fox's chest.

greatsword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 Nah...
Grabbing the scroll fragment he picked up, he tossed it behind him towards his companions. "Piece together the scroll! We might be able to use it against him!" Think GM mentioned the last fragment was near the crocodile?

Medvedie objatie!
Cast Aspect of the Bear on self then move forward. Setting up to grapple next turn.
Ssstay a moment Sithiss. We ssshouldn't kill him jussst yet. Guard the othersss back there.

Dax moves in to help the wounded Hanzo, while the Selter and Talon move to pin the fox down. Bambang's sword stays true to it's cause and strikes the fox hard. Hurting him very badly.
As Talon reaches for the fox, he lashes out an attack.

@Talon, What does the further aid another do? Do they stack? I'm not sure what your current AC is.
Combat Round 2
Current conditions:()
Hanzo -26 (Prone), Ai, Selter ,Talon (grapple) , Dax, Bambang
Fox -35 (grappled) (does AoO hit Talon?)

![]() |

ooc]@Talon, What does the further aid another do? Do they stack? I'm not sure what your current AC is.[/ooc]
A single Aid Another boosts AC/CMD against a single attack, and multiple AA's from a single ally don't stack (since I believe each has to be attributed to an incoming attack). So for that Attack of Opportunity, Scorp's Aid Another boosted Talon's AC to 18 ... so he still got hit. The rest of those rolls will go on any further attacks Talon is targeted with.
And I believe the damage from that AoO is applied as a bonus against the provoking grapple. :/

![]() |

Thanks for that, his CMD is very low, so if the bonus did apply he would still be grappled.

![]() |

On Hanzo's turn he stands and starts moving toward the fox. He'll stick with the bulk of the group and use stunning fist when in range.

![]() |

Ai grins at the fox. "Well played, but this is no longer a laughing matter." She draws her crossbow, pulls the trigger, and lets a bolt fly.
Light Crossbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + (6) = 12

![]() |

That's all we needed!
Ai's bolt hits the fox right in the leg and he curls out in pain. " Okay! Okay! I'll come in peace..." The fox immediately puts his hands up in surrender, and peacefully joins the party as they make their way back to ms Koi, with all the fragment pieces.
Along the way though, he does not keep quiet, he talks and talks and talks, he brags about how smart he was to trick ms. Koi into allowing him to escape the prison, " Plus, you'll never figure out how to get me into the scroll, you don't even know my name. Hah Hah!"
Ms Koi is ecstatic to see you bring over the fox, and congratulates you on your victory for. She explains that the mission isn't over until you get him into the scrolls. " I don't really remember, but the way to activate the scroll is in his name! For my life I can't remember it though, there's a clue somewhere inside the scrolls."
There's no limit here, so you can guess as much as you can, but to give everyone a chance, i'd like everyone to guess one name per posting.

![]() |

Bambang waves the scroll fragments in front of the fox before showing them to his party. "It's right here. And very apt, too. You are CAUGHT! Pun intended, by the way."

![]() |

Good job! I can't do a major update at the moment but here is a short one.
As soon as Bambang says the words "caught", the foxes face frowns as if he's been defeated for the very first time. A magical wind surrounds the room and picks up the scroll fragments, sewing them together, combining them into a single scroll piece. As they become whole, the create a little vortex which sucks the fox into the dark abyss, never to be heard from again. He screams at the end of this all. "Nooooooooooooooooooooooo"
At this point, Ms Koi has stopped the water flowing, but the water has not yet been cleaned up.

![]() |

"Much though I enjoy the water," Dax comments to Mistress Koi, "It is damaging these books. Might you take it when you go?"

![]() |

I may be able to finish this since I remember clearly what comes next.
"Oh, water cleaning? Now why would I do that?" Ms Koi looks at the party surprised, almost as if Dax was speaking a whole new foreign language at her.
She seems to have forgot her promise, it's a diplomacy DC 20 to make her remember.

![]() |

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Hanzo looks at the room around him and shrugs.
Because a library isn't a place to flood with water since it damages the valuable items within?

![]() |

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
"Well, I'm sure you don't need to clean up the archives, but if you do, you can go on your way satisfied you've done the right thing." Ai pauses, grinning. "Picoperi says 'it's better to do the right thing...than the left one.' Do you want to do the left one? Besides, I seem to remember you saying something about doing that if we caught...well, Caught."

![]() |

The Grodair contemplates update Ai's words "Oh, but of course, I don't want to be the left one! A promise is a promise"
With that, she creates a magical whirlpool that starts vacuuming all the water from the archives into the extra dimension, she says her farewells and towards the end, hopes into the stream going back home. " Goodbye and thank you!"
You've completed your mission, but now find yourselves handless to show any proof of the fox, the scroll fragments, the other extradimensional creatures so to say. And almost with perfect timing, the master of scrolls himself walks in, impressed nonetheless that you've removed all the water. You detailed him your explanation showing him a toothless Virml. He is not convinced about your explanation but regardless does not care, as long as the archives are restores and congratulates you on a job well done.
It's over from this point pretty much! Except for the dark archives. I'll upload your chronicles by this week.
However, before you make a departure, Shaine looks over to Bambang, "What is out that you've got there in your bag?" As he notices a little corner of the book sticking out.
All dark archivers can contribute to this part, you may use three possible skills, bluff, diplomacy, and sleight of hand. Diplomacy is used only when Shaine realises what the book is and you try to convince him it's better with the dark archives. You may play it out how you want to.

![]() |

Will let Hanzo take the lead in this, because Bambang's social skills are bad, and he is not trained in sleight of hand. Will still roll the aid now to save time.
Bambang sidles up in front of Hanzo, facing the backpack towards Hanzo. "It's a scrap book that I use to practice my calligraphy. I sell my calligraphy services during my downtime." The second part is true!
bluff, aid Hanzo: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14

![]() |

Talon gives the lingering group a look, but shrugs and bows to Master Shaine. "Glad to have helped," says the big man as he lumbers off to do ... whatever it is he does.
He pauses, then looks back at the team, "Well done, everyone. I learned much from adventuring with you."
[ooc]Thanks for the game, Batpony. And I had fun, everyone. Well done and happy gaming, folks.

![]() |

Hanzo nods at Bambang's words.
Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
GM Folio Reroll: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Please Dice Roller be Kind
Indeed. He's quite good at it. I have even considered taking him to a shop run by those from my homeland so that could use his skills to aid them in their business of art and calligraphy from Tian Xia.

![]() |

Dice roller is not kind, also FYI Bambang's aid wouldn't have made an actual +2, as due to the book, it's giving him a -20 on bluff!
Shaine looks with a wide eye at the pair."Is that so now? Let me take a look at that."He snatches the book from Bambang and immediately realises what is going on. "Well then, Zarta has some explaining to do, trying to go behind my back here!"
You can still convince him it's better for the dark archives to handle it with a diplomacy, both roll and i'll take the best and use the other as aid.

![]() |

Hanzo sighs.
So much for doing as I'm told, I suppose. Zarta has her head in the right place, even if her methods are a bit too secretive to make friends... I do believe she is right, however. The Dark Archive has the proper safeguards to make sure that book doesn't fall into the wrong hands. As we've all seen before, the other factions can be... infiltrated by those with dark intent. At least in the Dark Archive, the only ones who know of it's existence are the ones in this room and Zarta herself.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

![]() |

Ah! Can I give you my reroll. Haha. Sigh.
Bambang sees Hanzo stumbling over his words, and Bambang knows that the game is up. Nonetheless, he makes a desperate attempt to help Hanzo. "Captain, ah you mean that book. Hanzo is right, sir. The Dark Archives is the best equipped to manage such artifacts."
diplomacy, aid: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6 Sigh.

![]() |

Hanzo can have the reroll, but you're not missing out on much in terms of boons to be honest.

![]() |

Reroll: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

![]() |

Oops, actually I was joking. By PFS rules, rerolls are only for yourself. It can't be granted to someone else. "once per scenario, after you roll the dice, you can reroll 1d20 die; you must take the new result."

![]() |

I was trying to see if I could fool the dice roller. Still didn't work. I guess this game was just meant to hammer poor Hanzo.

![]() |

I made a silly mistake, the bluff DC is 16, I had it mixed with the sleight of hand, DC20. You get your boons! chronicles for everyone will be up I'm a couple hours.
Will also for completeness post a retcon conclusion.

![]() |

As Hanzo explains to Master Shaine the art of calligraphy and the nature of the business, you can see that his interest is slowly wading off as it pertains nothing to do with the dark archives or any valuable scrolls of his.
"Very well then, be off, the lot of you! I shall be going to inspect to see how much damage the water had caused." He tells you as he walks back into the dark archives.
And it's 100% a wrap! Thanks for playing! See you guys around the board! Sometime soon probably
