Waki: A diminutive swarm is unaffected by martial attacks. If you would like to change your actions, you may. There is a DC 16 fort save or be nauseated for one round, as well as distraction noted below. No entanglement.

Waki does not have experience with swarms, so probably would try to cut them off first before digging for vial of acid next round.

GM, I'm having a hard time visualizing the Heth swarm. Can you help us see it on the map? Thanks.

GM DevilDoc |

The Heth swarm is still using the same icon as before. It maintains the same "dimensions" (5 ft) as the man form, so I did not change the icon. It is located on the back wall, and I highlighted it in a red border.

The team scatters as the creature turns into a swarm and attacks. Yoon prepares another burst of fire, while Selter throws a vial and coverrs his comrades in Acid before calling back Sithiss.
As the giant constrictor retreats, Yoon lights up the remains of the worm swarm. The creature that once was Joktan collapses into a heap of dissolving, desiccated worms on the stone floor and a deep rumbling courses through the chamber. The tremors grow both more violent and more rapid until suddenly the earth beneath the altar bulges up and explodes in a shower of dust and mud.
Rising from the hole is a nightmarish creature made of putrid flesh and noxious fluids. Vaguely wormlike, this huge creature’s mouth is made of rows of teeth and retracting mandibles.

I applied the -4 for shooting into combat. And Yoon's now down 49 points of nonlethal, and can only accept one more Burn Point! (probably just as well) Maybe the class should be called kamikaze instead of kineticist... (it's my first go around with one o' these)

Nobody has any knowledges on this, right? So we don't know about SR, and Yoon goes before Slick. So I'm going to burn my portfolio re-roll on that SR check, just in case. Because Yoon's pretty much out of juice after this. Might as well make sure it counts. 2-star GM.

Never mind.. it be a moot point!!
Between the surge of electricity from Slicks bound blade, Yoons eruption of fire, and Waki's steadfast determination to have undead worm sushi, the roaring beast is quickly cut down. It falls heavily, shaking the whole of the temple as it shudders in its death throes, filling the room with the decidedly unpleasant smell of half charred and partially cooked worm.

Yoon extends both hands downward and flames burst forth, blasting her forward like a firework to land next to the worm.
"Sure glad they don't make those things fireproof, eh? HahahaHAHAHA," says Yoon. Her body now reeks of brimstone and sulfur and flames dance behind her eyes. Her giggle has taken on a manic quality.
She then starts searching the room for that book or scroll or whatever. And any other good loot.
Take ten perception=21
I should've probably picked Lem as a pregen, but I've been curious about all the hubbub surrounding kineticists. That being said, Yoon has blown almost everything she has (can accept only one more burn), and is now down 49 HP--granted, it's nonlethal, but still.

At the start of combat with the evolving thing in the temple:
Slick activates the wand of haste, "Mach schnell!" He stows it in his handy haversack. Haste on everyone, including Sithiss, but not Yoon and Selter. Sorry, guys. Didn't think it would help you as much. Duration 5 rounds.
He grasps the hilt of his black blade, infusing it with his arcane pool. Arcane Pool 5/7. Increased the blade's enhancement bonus by 1 to +3 and adding the keen property.
Then, Slick steps forward to meet the enemy, slashing the black scimitar through the air. "Bring it, Worm."
Crit Threat range increased to 15-20.

A magus is a tricky, complicated beast. I have to review the rules frequently myself. ;-)
Spell Combat and Spellstrike
Combining Spell Combat with Spellstrike
Full-round action to use Spell Combat. Spell Combat grants the magus a full-attack with his weapon, and also lets him cast a Standard action spell. Slick cast shocking grasp, defensively. He made his concentration check. As part of casting a Touch spell, the magus gets a free touch attack. Using Spellstrike, he can (and did) choose to deliver that attack with his black blade. He rolled that attack and included his -2 penalty for using Spell Combat. He dealt weapon damage as well as discharging the shocking grasp. Because this was Spell Combat, he still got to make a full-attack with his weapon. So, two attack rolls with the black blade.
Then as part of making a full attack action, the hasted magus made his one extra attack with his black blade.
A Guide to Touch Spells, Spellstrike, and Spell Combat helps explain the concepts with useful examples.

Thanks Slick!
Yoon and Waki move around the room searching for their quarry. Along the way, they are able to pull a number of useful items from the rubble, but most importantly the Testament of Geb is found under the destruction of the temple alter. Pulling this vile and despicable tome free takes but a moment, and the group then activates Ambrus Valsin’s magic token calling for their ride home. After several minutes, the group begins to feel the familiar tingle of magic before the floor drops out from beneath their feet. As the vertigo and disorientation subsides, you find yourself back in the Grand Lodge with VC Valsin rushing through the door towards you. "Did you get it? Did you find the tome? What about Heth? Any sign of him?" the words tumble from the man before you can even find your feet.

![]() |

Waki finds himself answering reluctantly due to ill news.
Tome we found, yes. Joktan Heth we found as well. Better days he had seen and his compromised condition his return prevented. A burial place with a curse found we did, but resolved we did not. Ready to be returned to our forms we are.

GM DevilDoc |

Valsin stops short, saddened as Waki reports Heth's misfortune. "His sacrifice shall be honored and respected." he says sadly. "I trust that if you left his remains still cursed, then you had no way to handle the curse in your present states. I can understand that. You maintained your mission focus and reported back. Very will done. Lets get all of you changed back to normal and wrap this business up." Ambrus says. He takes the Testament before leading you back to the mages in the tower. After a very short ceremony, you drink from the chalice once more and finally return to yourselves.
The Testament of Geb is sent to the Vaults for safe keeping, after extensive research by some of the most esteemed necromancers of the Spells. A day or so later, you hear rumors among your fellow Pathfinders that Joktan’s body has been found in the Puddles district, the apparent victim of a mugging. He is eulogized in a special ceremony at Skyreach and a section of the Vaults holding a number of necromantic artifacts is renamed in his honor. Venture-Captain Valsin thanks you for your service to the Society and warns you never to speak to anyone of the true fate of Joktan nor of the existence of the Testament of Geb, “for the Society’s sake.”
And so concludes our adventure to the Land of Geb. Thank you all for putting up with me and for joining me on this adventure! I will have all of the admin stuff taken care of shortly and links posted in the discussion tab. Good luck and I hope to see all of you around the boards!
