Thank you.
So I guess first-mate would likely be Master-at-arms? I could see Nalgi handling security/discipline
The first mate is selected from one of the officer positions I would imagine. I think Nalgi would make a great master-at-arms.

As for the character, I am changing some things around. For the rogue talent, I have these two which fit the theme I am going for. I really like both of them. Canny observer is always active and not limited in it's uses, while Charmer gives two rolls on diplomacy skill checks twice a day. Decisions, decisions. I have included the text of each ability for easy comparison. Thoughts?Canny Observer (Ex): When a rogue with this talent makes a Perception check to hear the details of a conversation or to find concealed or secret objects (including doors and traps), she gains a +4 bonus.
Charmer (Ex): Once per day, the rogue can roll two dice while making a Diplomacy check, and take the better result. She must choose to use this talent before making the Diplomacy check. A rogue can use this ability one additional time per day for every 5 rogue levels she possesses.
A player of mine rocked my NPC's faces off with Charmer. I've found you don't roll diplomacy too often, and when you do you really want it to succeed. Plus, while Canny Observer is really good, with your skills and spells I think it's just icing on the cake.

Grand Moff Vixen |

If we go off of the list from The Wordwood Mutiny, it would come out looking something more like this:
Captain: Delben Petch
Boatswain: Antal "Sharkbait" Borimgram
Carpenter/Surgeon:
Master-at-Arms: Nalgi Wavecrester
Quartermaster: Laurestine Valerian
Master Gunner: Harvey Dagger
Cook:
Rigger:
Swab:
Cabin Boy:
With the roles defined, it makes it easier to understand what each person would be doing. I like this list so far. It is shaping up quite nicely.

That it does. Laurestine also would make a good face.

Laurestine Valerian |

Steven, do you have numbers for each item that Laurestine found? I realize that you were just giving a general account, but for game purposes I need to know the exact details on everything she finds.
Also, for anyone who would know this info, please check the spoiler at the bottom of my profile for the updated list of the ship's stores. When the supplies change I will keep it updated.

Just as a note if food becomes an issue I can send my sharks out to hunt and provide for five people by taking ten and the other sharks assisting others (plus maybe chomps) Yay for shark armada!

Delben Petch |

Just wanted to say that seemed to be the perfect amount of chaos for the situation and that Delban seems to be very good in a leadership role.
Thanks!
Though I just learned you can't inspire competence yourself... d'oh.

Personality 1: You can do it!
Personality 2: Yes I can!
So really, you are able to use it on "yourself". :P

You should have the bulkhead statue carved into a shark. Just sayin'

AGREED! We shall name our ship the Megaladon of Styx... unless that's too evil

Delben Petch |

And for the record I can cast speak with animals. You could teach your sharks to hunt for 'only really large prey' or something and I could decipher between the whales and boats they find. I could only do it once a day but that could come in handy.

Antal "Sharkbait" Borimgram |

I found a 3rd party evolution that is literally the most perfect thing ever made for a Shark-dolon.
__________________________________________________________
CAPSIZE (EX): The eidolon can attempt to capsize a boat or ship by ramming it with a charge attack and making a combat maneuver check with a DC of 25, or the result of the captain’s Profession (sailor) skill check, whichever is higher. For each size category that the ship is larger than the eidolon, the eidolon takes a cumulative -10 penalty on this combat maneuver check. The eidolon must have both the large and swim evolutions to take this evolution.

SO FLAVORFUL!

I can see it now.
1. Capsize ship
2. Chomps, Nalgi and sharks loot the ship
3. ???
4. Profit

Orelius Lionpaw |

1. Take a level of Druid(Pack Lord) and purchase a Wand of Animal Growth.
2.Pay a wizard in one of the ports to cast Permanency.
3.???
4.Profit.
And then, I can get that wizard to cast Permanency on Chomps when I cast Enlarge Person, making him the next size up from Huge...
GARGANTUAN apparently. Geez.

Orelius Lionpaw |

@Steven: A 3rd party called Abandoned Arts. They create a lot of feats and stuff that flesh out the options available more.
@Nalgi: Don't worry, the scrolls cost like 2000 gold. Wands, though... I don't know.
So with my plan, it's a DC 35 check to capsize a Warship, and Chomps will have a Strength score of, like, 34 MINIMUM, and he will be around level 10 by the time we actually have to deal with one...
I suddenly see us needing some masks of underwater breath.

Nalgi Wavecrester |

By that point I should have like two more sharks and by that point it'll be one giant shark with legs rising out of the water and flipping this ship while a cloud of smaller sharks close in to take out any survivors. We're awesome.
I could use my tactician ability to give that teamwork feat to all my sharks as a standard. It would totally work out

We'll run this encounter similar to the first ship battle in wormwood mutiny, with the boarding, and then onboard fighting. I have to get a hold of a copy of naval battle rules and reread them, but if you all want to use those instead, I'll find some and relearn them.

Delben Petch |

Aren't Warships Colossal? If Chomps is large that'd be a DC 55 (3 categories larger). It really is an amazing evolution though, perhaps more for rowboats and whatnot, still useful.
