About Laurestine Valerian

Background:

Slowly, carefully, Laurestine turns over in her hand what seems to be a dragon-looking skull. Excitement fills her once again at her find.

"This is what I need to get that start back in Katapesh city. That professor wanted something of value for his private collection and I think these will be what he wants. He should pay a reasonable amount for this." she thinks as she packs up her findings.

Laurestine Valerian is a draconic archaeologist in search of all things dragon related. For reasons that she doesn't yet fully understand, she is inexplicably drawn to all things draconic. All she knows is that she wants to learn everything she can about them. It even seems as though she can see better in the night than she used to. Or maybe it was just her.

At about her 12th year she began to linger about the explorers guild, and would observe the archaeologists who came in for supplies and the like. She would listen to their tales and learn from them about the process of digging for relics. They would come in will all sort of items, from old weapons that had long since rusted over, to things like a music box that had seen better days. On other occasions what they brought in was in much better condition. Sometime during all of this she realized that this is what she wanted to do. Since she needed more than just participating in various expeditions, she enrolled at the school of Flair in Absalom to study.

After graduating, her father helped her to get a job on a dig site in the mountains of the Katapesh, southwest of the Brazen Peaks. After spending time there, the expedition completed the site, and headed back to the city of Katapesh. With her job complete, she began to travel and see where her experiences would take her.

Appearance:
Laurestine Valerian is 5'4" at 120lbs, has medium brown long hair, and has a small, trim build.

Personality:
Laurestine is very outgoing and friendly. She very much likes talking to people and learning about where they have been and what they have done. She very much loves to learn about the world around her, especially dragons.

Further Experiences:
In addition to being an archaeologist, Laurestine also investigates supernatural and extraordinary phenomenon. She is reasonably skilled at what she does, and is most eagar to learn about Quantium, the new city she recently arrived in. She has been working with a local university with their academia in her recent archaeological findings.

In the last month, Laurestine experienced something new. She has been manifesting additional abilites that are most fascinating. Her pet thrush, Myla, has begun talking to her. She doesn't know why this happened as of yet. Myla even has started talking to strangers, though they don't always respond since she speaks in the draconic language.

Goals:

  • What motivates you? An innate desire to investigate the world around her. This is especially true when anything draconic is involved.
  • Short term goals To learn more about the city of Quantium and it's history, and to find out more about this elite group of guards. Investigate unusual crimes? Most intriguing.
  • Medium term goals To become a reputable professor of such things as dragons, their noted historal locations, their history, and their importance to current events. Also, she desires to become noted for her archaeological knowledge and experience.
  • Long term goals Finding out what causes her to have such a passion for draconic pursuits. To travel and see the world. Delving into the ruins of ancient civilizations to find out more about them. What happened to them? Why did it happen? Could it happen again? These questions and more.
  • What is your greatest fear? To lose the ability to see. She is fascinated with the places she has seen so far, and to lose her sight would be devastating.
