GM Poblano Pepper wrote:Little by little I am creating BB coded pregens. The true dragons I do not have yet but soon will. I will let you know when I finish some.I just suddenly realized what you said here.
How many of these do you have converted? Can we get them in the PBP GM Kit? Is it possible to get a couple volunteers to help on this project?
It suddenly occurred to me what a great resource this could be.
Hmm
We may need to move this out of this thread to coordinate the effort, but I'm willing to help, with HeroLab I think I can get one or two Pregens each day (all levels).

I'd be willing to help with the pregen conversions as well.
As for your toolkit, I had already started before I found it....but I have printed out probably half of it to take with me to PFS F2F events... :-P
@Mythweavers, those look great! Thanks.

Alright, let’s give this project a home!
Poblano Pepper and Volunteers PBP Pregen Conversion Project
Anyone who wants to help with the Project may! I will say that all I can do is to give this project scope... But if we can get the community helping out, this would be awesome. Thanks in advance to all that volunteer!

Hello everyone. VCHmm asked me to introduce myself.
I am the Venture-Agent for the PFS play-by-post community on Myth Weavers.
We're in a bit of a lull with the pbp games wrapping up and the holidays coming, but if anyone ever wanted to branch out from the Paizo forums we can be reached at MythweaversPFS
I've even put together a guide for players that goes through some effort to explain some of the differences between Paizo and Myth Weavers.
Hi everyone,
Much like Mike quoted above, VC Hmm has also asked me to introduce myself as well. I’m the new Venture Agent for the PFS PbP community on RPGGeek.com.
Again, similarly to MW we are winding down from Gameday but things should pick up again in the new year. If you are looking for something different or to meet new people, head on over and check it out.
I don’t have RPGG guide to share but there will be one in the future so keep a look out!
Thanks,
Phillip

Hey guys,
I've made a discovery about myself and my GMing. I can handle multiple games, but I cannot do two tables of the same thing. I have since May been running two tables of Ironfang Invasion, requiring all characters to be redeemed monsters. Most of that time I have felt that I'm not enjoying the second table, because two tables just don't work for me. The table I am hoping to hand off to another GM is the one with the 'higher powered' monsters. We tweaked their races to be about 15 race points each. There is a drow, a drider, a lizardwoman, and a bugbear. They are a lot of fun, and using their unusual races to come up with unusual solutions to problems. They are nearing the end of the first book. They are a little slow posting (a few posts a week, rather than one a day). Would anyone be willing to take over for me? They really are a fun group, and I would like to see them in good hands. It's not a PFS game.

GM Hmm |

I hope you find somebody to help you out, Redelia!
It is an interesting discovery to make, though. I know that I cannot do two tables of the same thing either. It just takes too much out of me. If I am doing two games at the same time, they have to be different from one another.
Yet I know other GMs like Chis Marsh thrive on two tables at once.
We’re all wired differently. There is no shame in discovering that one has limits.

Redelia, I thought I had posted here yesterday, while I'd love to take over your table, it sounds like a fun game, I'm about to start a new second job so I can't really commit to running more games for the next 3 weeks or so. (Also why I've postponed my PbP Dead Suns AP)
Good luck on the replacement hunt =)

GM Ladile |

Alas, I've already got a lot on my PbP plate Redelia but I hope you're able to find a replacement soon!
*edit* I've tried the multiple tables of different scenarios path and now I'm currently trying two tables of the same thing. Will post further thoughts and impressions on the two methods as things progress...

Pacing question for everyone: What have you found to be the best time to push on if the players are interacting with each other well? As an example, in a game I am running, the PCs are in a waiting room. They have started to interact with each other there. I don't want the players to get bored, but I don't want to cut off the fun roleplay. I also don't like to break the momentum by asking 'Do you want to move on now.'

GM RePete |

I've had the same difficulty in an AP I've been running, Redelia.
What I've done in situations where they are actively RPing, I'll either post in Discussion that I'm going to give them some more time before I push forward, or I wait a day to see if any respond to the RP before pushing forward on my own.
I don't know if this is the best method or not, and would gratefully appreciate other more experienced GMs sharing their methods.

GM Poblano Pepper |

Sometimes the RP could just be the players letting you, nonchalantly, know they are still there waiting for he next post. I agree with RePete though posting in the Discussion forums is a great way to 'warn' players they will be transitioning soon too.
Other times I will join the RP a little to kinda facilitate the next section is about the begin.

GM Ladile |

It depends...I generally try to give my players ample time to RP and when they're really getting into it I admittedly have a hard time making myself push the action along. In my recent Reaping What We Sow game I actually spent several RL days just letting them interact and chat with the locals in the town they'd traveled to because they took the initiative and immediately scattered to the four winds to check things out and talk to people once they got there. It was a ton of fun RPing back and forth with them and watching them interact with each other, too! Normally speed seems to be the name of the game with PFS PbP and I know a lot of GMs probably would've pushed the plot ahead much more quickly than I did, but in this case I was happy to let the RP stretch out a bit because it was clear that everyone was having a lot of fun with it.
Conversely, I took over another game of the same scenario and the players - while present - don't seem as interested in lengthy chatter sessions as my first group did. Admittedly it might just be scenario fatigue, the fact that several of them have GMed the scenario and might be trying to let someone else take the lead, or most of the PCs are just the strong, silent types, but since they're not engaging as much with things I'm moving the action along more quickly than I did with the first game. So I guess it really depends on the type of group you have as to how fast or how slow you want to take things. But your own input also matters as the one running the game - I know several GMs get bored pretty quickly with games that aren't 2+ more posts a day from everyone and so you've also got to run the game in a manner and at a pace that works for you, too.
When I *do* plan to move things along, I do like RePete and try to give notice, something like, "Okay guys, I'll move us along in tomorrow's post".

As a player the are going wonderfully. I'm learning a lot from the mentor GMs.

I am thoroughly enjoying the look into GM Hmm's thoughts and processes, as well as reading up on DM S's input. There are a lot of opinions and conversations being bandied about, and all while we are relaxing with an amusing and enjoyable game.
If we do play another game, I am not sure what we would choose though.. I can't see the Confirmation inspiring the types of quality brainstorming that we are currently seeing.

Lady Ladile |

I'm enjoying things as well! It's good to get some insight into the thought processes of different GMs (Hmm, DM S, and GM Lorenzo). As far as the next round goes and when to do it, I'm not sure. I think I might prefer to wait until after the January special is done, but I'll go with what the majority want to do :)

GM ShieldBug |

I have learnt quite a bit both from my game and following the others! I was going to say that I'd have to wait until after the special before signing up for the next round. But now you have me so intrigued, I'd probably sign up whenever. :)

GM RePete |

I would be interested in playing in one of those.
January would be ok for me as a player. But I have no issue with waiting until the special ends.

![]() |

Ok, the next round of mentor games will be the Tome of Righteous Repose. It's a higher level evergreen, so everyone should be able to participate. The GMs running games are going to show you how they prepare for the game, since preparation is what we're particularly hoping to talk about this round. We are tentatively planning to start the preparation in early to mid January. I need to know who is playing.

GM ShieldBug |

Sounds good to me! It will be very interesting to see how others prep for their games. :)

GM Ladile |

How soon do you need to know? I'm trying to gauge how full my dance card will be at that point and if it's still rather full then I might need to sit this next one out - though I'd still follow as an observer even if I don't play or GM :)

GM Sedoriku |

I'd really be interested in seeing a bit more of how to prepare for a game, so please count me in!

O yes sorry I think my response was Eaten before. But I too must sit this one out as my bandwidth is quite stretched at the moment between Online, RL and VO Duties.
I too will be cheering you all on though and possibly offer some good questions and maybe some examples of how my prep goes.
For example Slide Decks are so much fun to make and are a big part of my prep.
You can find all those that I have made here. Though if you are playing in Race for the Runecarved Key please don't spoiler it for yourself.

GM ShieldBug |

I really like what you did with some of those slides, Poblano Pepper, and I will be shamelessly stealing some stuff for my next PbP game. ;)
Thank you for sharing!

Feel free to 'Borrow' to your hearts content Shield Bug. If it helps out Another with table prep by all means go for it!
Many of the blank slides are actually a text box over the maps.
O word to the wise to anyone using the slide decks some of the Enemy markers are actually underneath the maps :)
Just right click Option Click I think on MACs the map and, under Order, send it to the back to make the enemy markers appear.

Shieldbug, Otha, Zin Z'arin, Khaoz, RePete, and Sedoriku, you will be playing in the next round with Our Mysterious Benefactor. He has gameplay and discussion threads set up for you to dot in. Things are not starting yet, but please dot in now.
Those who will be observing, please do not dot in yet, so that we can first track those who are playing at that table.
JAF0, Carimac, EwokBanshee, Nomadical, and Woodenman, your table is not set up yet, but should be soon.

GM Hmm |

I will be stealing that Race for the Runecarved Key slide show, Poblano! That is magnificent!

You Are most Welcome.
If you didn't gather I like making things and Prep is a lot of fun.
Oh! and if you need Mini's for it you can find those here, I'm still working on adding more to the Mini Box at the moment so keep an eye out.

GM Poblano Pepper |

Oh that brings me to another thought, what might the interest be in say someone doing a Google Hangouts type Power Powerpoint/Google Slides & Live Screen presentation of how to make a slide deck for gameplay with a tutorial on how to import maps and making Token Markers, plus a little Q&A Session?
This of course would be open to all not just the Mentor Groups want to pull in as many persons interested in GMing PbP as possible.
Thoughts?
Pros?
Cons?

^Those slides and the like for Race will be a great help Poblano - thank you!
As a sidenote, I noticed that there's starting to be a nudge for GMs to all work together to help prep stuff for specials - and I don't mind that in the least - but it's kinda hard for folks like me who are trying to rely on scenario support since I usually won't get the scenario until maybe a week or so before start time and by then a lot of the work has already been done :\
