Competence on the battlefield is a myth. The side which screws up next to last wins, it's as simple as that.
-Lord General Zyvan
For more than a hundred centuries the Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the Imperium, for whom a thousand souls die every day, for whom blood is drunk and flesh eaten. Human blood and human flesh - the stuff of which the Imperium is made.
To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable; yet even here some try to carve out a measure of freedom and independence for themselves. It was centuries before the growing dissent on Culara swelled into outright revolt, but when Lord Governor Davias directed the Planetary Defense Forces to storm the main Adeptus Arbites precinct house in Culara Prime they were only too eager to oblige. Over the following three weeks those loyal to the Emperor were purged across the world, killing or driving them into hiding.
The last seven years have been a glorious renaissance for the Culara system. Without the burden of Administratum tithes or restrictions, local economy, culture and happiness had all blossomed. No longer would the world's wealth be stripped and drained offworld by uncaring and distant overlords! No longer would brave Cularan troopers throw away their lives for the glory of the Imperial Guard and their so-called 'Generals'!
Then Imperial Taskforce 16.1 arrived in-system, and nothing would be the same again.
So, what is this?
Something I've tried with others before, a Strategic RolePlay Game (SRPG) using a homebrew system where the players create characters with their own personalities and play them over the course of an adventure or campaign.
Isn't that the same thing as a straight roleplay game?
Well, yes... and no. In Only War (as an example) you play a trooper or two and try your best to control your surroundings. In this kind of SRPG you play an officer commanding a number of regiments, sending orders to their Colonels and directing the flow of a war.
It does mean you're less likely to die, but on the other hand if you make a mistake it's going to have more of an impact than a Trooper's lasgun overheating.
Oh, ok. And who do we play in this case?
Well, that's up to you really. If we have 4 or 5 players (three at a pinch) I can run this with Imperial or Traitor players. The Lord-General and Lord-Governor will be NPCs in either case, and will be largely hands-off over any player characters.
The players would be Generals, each commanding a number of regiments in a Corps and conducting the ground war on Culara IV. Any other assets can be requested through your superior, and if backed by one or more of your fellow players is more likely to be granted. The Imperial Navy has the means to intervene in certain situations, and if you're playing as Imperials then you might be able to request air support from a Thunderbolt squadron. As for the Traitors, well, that would be telling. :3
Alright, that sounds interesting. So what do you want from us at this point?
I guess just a sense of how many people are interested, and which side of the conflict they would prefer to play. On the whole the Imperials have a slightly easier job (and more regiments than the Traitors), but the Traitors enjoy substantial local support.
Home-court defensive advantage?
So that's enough from me for the moment. This is no kind of formal recruitment thread (which will have more information on how often we should try to post and what's involved in character creation) but simply a check on who is interested.

![]() |

Well I am _insanely_ interested! Running strategy is always awesomesauce, and in 40K even more so!
I'd prefer Imperials, just because I think the RP side of it would be easier (and I've got a way of thinking that aready says "traitor = PURGE THE UNCLEAN!", so, there's that. =)
AND it's Culara! What more can you ask for? =)
BlindKitsune, do you want me to make this Thread known around the other (few) 40K games going on around here?

BlindKitsune |

Sure if you'd like to!
I'm in an Only War game just starting out, but this is a different sort of perspective on the dark far future.
If we have a few more people who are interested I'll pull together a proper recruitment thread (or possibly just link it in here) and we can see about setting out some back story.
I like back story.

![]() |

oooo, command a regiment? just like my 2000+ points of guard? Count me in!
Are we only commanding guard regiments? cause if so than dibs on Elysian drop troops!
If not then dibs on my very own creation: the 85th Enhanced Mechanized Infantry
or just a standard Gue'la regiment <.<

BlindKitsune |

At the moment the roster for the 1252nd Imperial Guard Army has 24 regiments on it, including 14 Line Guard, 4 Mechanized regiments, 1 Armored regiment, 1 regiment of Harakoni Warhawks (so drop troops but not from Elysia), 1 of rough riders and 3 vast penal legions.
Since we're looking at 4-5 players I was thinking we might give you each a Corps command, with 4-6 regiments at your command (which could be anything between 32 000 and 120 000 men, depending on who takes what, when we get to that), so a few more than 2 000 (or even 20 000) points. ^_^
Ready to make a world tremble at your footsteps?
And of course most regiments have their own artillery. And commissars.
Add Imperial Taskforce 16.1 with its 3 cruisers, 8 escorts and 12 transports and we have the makings of a tidy little invasion force.
Lord General Domitian thinks so anyway, for all he'll be leaning a little heavily on his esteemed Generals for actual battlefield strategy.
We'll most likely have the characters starting out on the auxiliary flag deck of Indomitus Jubatus, which has all the facilities for proper battle planning; vast supplies of coffee, tea and amasec, along with the odd map or communications adjunct.
Welcome aboard!

BlindKitsune |

I was going to wait and see if we had enough of a response, but we have two interested players in two days. That seems like it should build up to a good number over time, so maybe we should look at making characters while we're here.
What I'm after isn't a classic character-generation style with one of the Fantasy Flight RPG books, but a stats-through-story sort of idea.
Please introduce your character, an officer of General rank (which may be General, Marshal, Lieutenant General or Major General according to this) with a longstanding history of military service. Give me a bit of a bio, some idea of their personality and answer these questions - either separately, or as part of your background.
1. Before becoming a General, your character served within a regiment likely for most or all of your military career. Which regiment was it, and what is most memorable about it?
2. Since you were promoted from your regiment, have you seen any other fronts? What type of unit's command comes most naturally to you?
3. Regardless of which units you've served with, what is your greatest gift as a commander?
4. And naturally, what is your greatest flaw? Everyone has one!
Once that's sorted out we can look into setting the scene, arranging commands and letting you two (and any other recruits we pick up in the meantime) work out your plan for planetfall.
It should be a doozy. ^^

BlindKitsune |

Absolutely yes. There are "fixed" commanders who follow orders without imagination or inspiration, but rigid yes-men is far more the behavior expected of junior officers than those at your rank. As long as it works and isn't outright heresy, Lord-General Domitian is likely to tolerate (or even laud) it.
Is diplomacy ever a tact? Not entirely sure I understand this so please correct me if I've misunderstood, but if you're asking if it's worth trying to negotiate with the enemy commanders, I'd say probably... not.
Negotiating with local settlements for support and possible levies is certainly worth a try though, though your control of the local area is likely to be a relatively significant modifier.
As to your last question, of course the Traitors are evil. Some of them anyway. It's all very well for enthusiastic local troopers, but Lord-Governor Davias has to understand that no single world or system can stand against the forces of the Imperium forever.
...so what is he up to, exactly?

BlindKitsune |

Homebrew - not using Rogue Trader, Deathwatch or Only War as they handle individual stories far better than the movement of armies and wars (imho).
Ideally this will be a dice- and stat- lite roleplay. Some of you will be better at some things than others, but most of this will be determined by your creativity and storytelling abilities.
My last post before your first outlined what I'm after from a character, while the first one sets up the background.
I have an idea that as well as the command room in-character discussions, I can advance the situation "on the ground" a day every two RL days, executing your collective intentions. Naturally I'd post NPCs more often than that, but it seems a good balance between time passing and giving you all time to discuss things.
Sound doable, my friends?

BlindKitsune |

Jene "the Genie" Rodriguez wrote:So, walking the line, black sheep, unorthadox? But your record of success speaks for itself."In the words of The Emperor, beloved by all: 'Victory requires no explanation; Defeat allows none'."
Exactly!
No Astartes are present in the Warzone... at this stage anyway. Good to see a cameo from the Deathwatch though. Astartes do the best quotes of the Emperor's Word in their deep booming voices.

Lessah |

As to your last question, of course the Traitors are evil. Some of them anyway. It's all very well for enthusiastic local troopers, but Lord-Governor Davias has to understand that no single world or system can stand against the forces of the Imperium forever.
...so what is he up to, exactly?
"A Heretic may see the truth and seek redemption. He may be forgiven his past and will be absolved in death. A Traitor can never be forgiven. A Traitor will never find peace in this world or the next. There is nothing as wretched or as hated in all the world as a Traitor."
I'm not really an imperial guy at heart, but man do they have some nice quotes : )

BlindKitsune |

Right, well that looks like five!
Welcome to our little experiment my friends, I'll let you work out your characters against the four bolded points in my earlier post and feel free to ask any other questions that occur to you.
I'll put up some information about Lord-General Domitian (and one or two other NPCs) over the rest of the day, and if possible will see about setting up some of the other gameplay information soon as well.
The Discussion thread will be opened when we have a couple of characters ready, but just to reiterate what I mentioned in passing earlier:
A Man, not a Million
While you command a force of tens of thousands (the entire 1252nd Imperial Army is clocked at 315 000 men upon deployment) you are not in fact all those men. Over the SRPG you should focus on what you as an officer are doing (planning, intriguing and so on), and issue orders (ideally in character, via the adjunct) to the Guard at your command.
In most cases they will even obey orders, or try to.
Time Passes...
Overall I'm asking for at least one post a day from the players. I'll try to do at least twice that for any dialogue with NPCs, and advance the strategic picture by one game day every two RL days once the campaign is underway.
That does mean that if a certain general gets so caught up in planning and scheming with their fellow generals that he or she forgets to actually issue any orders, their regiments will probably act on their own recognizance. Which might mean sitting tight, falling back from the enemy or, just maybe, launching an all-out attack on what they, from the ground, deem to be the most dangerous threat to the restoration of the Emperor's light.
Orders, sir?
How should you issue orders? Well there's a few ways, and mostly you're only restricted by your own creativity but here's two.
-=-=-=-=-=-
- 1st Tychis Longspears fortify ridge SE of Malygdan Woods, facing E.
- 821st Penal Legion fortify ridge N of Longspears, across pass. 1/3 in positions, 2/3 held in reserve.
- 66th Death Korps entrench across pass, specific orders to fall back if under heavy attack.
- 5th Charybdis Dragoons, 28th Scyllan Highlanders to form together in reserve, counter-attack in support of any regiment forced back.
In some cases the out of character style might be more useful, particularly if your character is still involved in a discussion with the other player characters when the day advances.
In General, General
Have fun!
And just because you all start together in a command room doesn't mean you have to stay there...

General Kimes |

Not sure if you wanted us to make alias' but this is Teneroth.
Just going to throw some data down here, begin framing my general
Name: Lieutenant General James Kimes
Senior NCO: Sargent Major Ericson
Previous Command: Before being promoted to the upper command ranks Jim Kimes was the commander of an armored battalion. (don't know numbers yet)
James prefers commanding armored regiments, but has also shown some promise with Mechanized Infantry and Artillery regiments. Though he has never mentioned it, he has always wanted to see what he could do with a squad of super heavy tanks, like baneblades.
Flaw: While skilled with commanding vehicle based regiments he doesn't seem to understand people that well, often delegating moral issues to his second in command, Sargent Major Ericson.

This is the submission for Atlas2112. Enjoy!
Just a Captain then, he served under Col Colonel Trymon Stagler with a fierce pride. Never had so many men died so willingly for so great a gain.
There Gauis learned many lessons, but there, too, he also found a new and uncharacteristic distaste for the doctrine of "noble sacrifice" that epidemically infects the populace and military from Krieg.
Of course men may die, but if they can achieve victory over so implacable a foe as the Tyrnids and yet live, might there be a doctrine for preservation of life that could give the same results?
Gauis prefers going into battle with heavy troops, some mechanized element, and at least a smattering of artillery support.
While he has yet to put his new doctrine into practice, he has found some solace from the writing of ancient generals, and their belief in "combined arms" and "maneuver". He has vowed to put such tactics into practice to try and preserve as many troops as he can.

BlindKitsune |

Sorry to hear that Deiros!
Unfortunately as I said in my first post, this is going to work best with players on one or the other side of the conflict. There might be an opening for a Traitor player later on, but at the moment I have someone offsite to handle military decisions for the non-played side, who won't know where to look for Imperial plans and orders.
You're welcome to write up an Imperial officer though, if you like. At the moment we have two of four-to-five characters worked out, and from the wonderful interest I think we'll be all ready to go soon.
Kimes & Arvitus
Nice work guys! I wasn't going to require a new alias, but since you've been kind enough to make one I'll be glad to use them. Kimes, could you follow Arvitus' lead and put your data on your profile?
I found all kinds of useful information there, and I can already see there will be some hot competition for the Armor & Mechanized units!

BlindKitsune |

Lord General Domitian, 1252nd Army Commander
Andrej Domitian was first recruited as a Captain in the 11th Vostroyan Rifles, shipping out to join the regiment in the siege lines on Lolita. A stiff and punctilious company commander, by the time the 11th Rifles spearheaded the big push into the Ork-held territories the young Domitian had been promoted to Major in place of the fallen. With his slavish dedication to orders and devotion to making his superior look good, Domitian was exactly what his Colonel was looking for in a second-in-command. As Major - and eventually, Colonel - of the 11th, Domitian displayed a steadfast determination in reducing every enemy position in turn, giving direct and simple orders which his capable subordinates (and powerful combined-arms regiment) were well suited to accomplish.
As a General, Domitian has played key roles in the defeat of two major Ork Waaaghs and the Argos Crusade against separatist elements toward the Damocles Gulf. When given a role in the planning of these operations, Domitian focused his plans and operations on disciplined and focused infantry. His expectations for these massed regiments were always high and took their success for granted, treating them all as regiments of the Firstborn. Across his time as a commander, Andrej Domitian has excelled in rallying the units directly under his command as well as a startling degree of loyalty to his skilled and creative subordinates which encourages them to speak their minds.
In sharp contrast, his plans have never been all that creative or innovative. Out-of-the-box thinking is foreign to the Lord General, although he can recognize and appreciate it in others. This is his first Army command, and his first opportunity to prove himself in an independent command without oversight.
He will secure victory, or die trying.

General Kimes |

Put it all in my profile and added a bit more, explaining what exactly made him stand out from other tank commanders.
If there is a lot of competition for armored and mech divisions I can retool my character to prefer drop troops (which it doesn't sound like we have >.<) or line infantry.
Honestly, if we had drop troops I might go for those instead anyways. It just sounds to me like there won't be any kicking of sentinels out the back of Valkyries any time soon.

Aedán O’Hern
Finreht Highlander Ginearálta
Standing tall among the highlanders of Finreht, a stoic and canny commander with a feel for war and a taste for blood. Aedán was born to the Clan O’Hern, he was one of the tributes paid from the chieftain’s own blood, though it means little in the regiments of Finreht as every recruit is to substitute losses of existing regiments and started as a Saighdiúir. What made Aedán an asset to his superiors was that he was brave and sought to do combat with the enemy, and a great strategist for a Finreht. These combined gave him a quickness to assess his enemies before engaging them, ensuring ambushes and redeployment of his squad to gain an advantage. Surrounded by more experienced soldiers and being of noble birth, it was not long before he was promoted to Sárisint do to both birth and martial prowess. Aedán learned a lot from his men as they were veterans of countless battles but he brought an uncommon leadership style that their men adjusted more easily as it was how they fought back in Finreht.
His reputation was hard won, he excelled at tactical command, possessing a coolness under the pressure of combat. As a Captaen during the Battle for Ariodis IV, it is said his company became surrounded by superior rebel forces who demanded his surrender. Rather than succumb, Stein flew into a rage, ordering an immediate attack which saw his company break out of the encirclement but lose nine out of every ten men in the process. Since then, Stein has hidden his dark temper from his men. This act of defiance and bravery got him promoted to Colonel, but only the survivors which are few and his trusted aids know of what happened.
The Defense of Eridu Prime from Waagh! Eadbreaka, the battle was fierce and brutal, the numbers of the 379th Finreht Highlander Regiment were cut at least in half, thanks to Colonel Aedán or they might have lost more men. This is what gave him his promotion to Ginearálta. As a Ginearálta he likes to be in the field of battle, delegating most logistical responsibilities to subordinates, preferring to lead his men in combat, or take quick decision on the field.
Wargear
In combat Aedán carries a bolt pistol and Beagalltach, a master crafted power sword.

orionbasher |

Lucius Ovidius Firmianus
1. Lucius hails from Cadia, as the son of a noble, he was taught to command at an early age.
2. Lucius has deployment on many different fronts, mostly dealing with rebellions, working best with infantry regiments, especially shock troopers.
3. Lucius is a skilled quartermaster and was previously awarded for losing a small amount of resources in a drawn out engagement.
4. Lucius is slightly neurotic/ paranoid due to his need to take stock of supplies and resources. He is also vulnerable to inaction, hoping to take the best path out of one situation and waiting for an opportunity that might not come.

BlindKitsune |

The discussion thread is up now, and I've linked a map of Culara there as well as to Campaign Info.
Now should be a good opportunity to start looking at plans, asking questions and working out your plans and what you want in your Corps to see it done. While you're doing that I'll work at shifting a few regimental histories from bullet points to prose.
Thanks for trying this with me, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I will. :3

Jene "the Genie" Rodriguez |

My only experience is Dark Heresy... so, forgive me.
Jene was marginalized, a military brat raised on Battlefleet. Mother a psyker and father always planning for or leaving for the next campaign. Mother never repented from a mission. Father became even more distant, severe and regimented.
Introversion was mistaken for ineptitude. And she was sent to become an Adept, a Scribe. But... That's where her mind woke up and engaged. Voracious appetite for knowledge of all variety, technical, bureaucratic, historical, commerce and economy, and... military. She would memorize rosters, officers, retinue, ships, their specifications, manifests, repair manuals, fuel requirements and capabilities.
She studied battles, diplomacy, strategy and tactics of law enforcement, military and aliens.
On one "field trip", the planet she was on cane under surprise attack. Heavy losses, military was recalled to leave civilians to their death. She couldn't do anything except watch the jet signature move further and further away in the night void.
Pulling together the other students, she had them gather supplies, build shelter and hide. But, there was one thing she didn't tell them. She rigged a long range distress beacon, not to be picked up by enemy scanners.
Weeks passed, some cracked. Some had to be killed. But, eventually the enemy was abuzz... Incoming Humans.
She worked quickly, transmitting short encrypted bursts... Identification of enemy craft, number, signatures, speeds, locations and flight capabilities.
Squadron after squadron of light fighters, followed by cruisers and finally a destroyer class vessel releasing marines, planetfall.
By the time the enemy found her, there weren't many of them left. Marines had found her too.
That's how her path changed.
Eventually, she became The Genie. Her commanding officers would just have to think of something nearly impossible and make a wish.
How'd you do it, Rodriguez? They'd ask.
Is the mission complete, Sir?
A nod.
Then does it really matter, Sir?
Rodriquez, dismissed. They never really wanted to know, it was better that way for everyone involved.

BlindKitsune |

Looks good, Genie. Great to see a bit of variety in the Men's Club already signed on!
So she's technically outside the Guard and it's rank structure, which means she'd need to be Andrej's private project if we're going to give her a Corps command; he can make her a Brevet-General in his Army to make best use of her talents.
Or would you prefer she avoid a command, and simply join as a strategist-advisor?

Jene "the Genie" Rodriguez |

I didn't mean for her to be outside the command structure, just of non traditional origin. In Dark Heresy at least, they allowed you at GM discretion... Modify your career path.
So, if she has a command... a corp, they are probably a "legion of the damned". Isle of misfit toys. Black sheep, unconventional fringe elements. The most versatile assembled force, adaptable and unpredictable. But, not... Chaotic.
Loyal to a fault, two way street. They would do anything for her and she would return the favor. She has allowed them to serve and maintain their identity and voice. Harness their energy and dig deep to discover their virtue.

Marshal Lucien Bron Yorke |

I would love to get in on this!
1. Before becoming a General, your character served within a regiment likely for most or all of your military career. Which regiment was it, and what is most memorable about it?
Lucien was born on the forest world of Markellus IV, whose peoples are organized into various fiefdoms ruled by barons and knights. It is a world rich in natural resources such as lumber, minerals, food and men. Born to the noble house of Yorke, Lucien was chosen from amongst his brothers to be tithed to the Imperial Guard as part of the 202nd Markellus Chevaliers.
His initial training opened him up to the technologies most used by the Imperial guard, including the lasgun and laspistol, as well as the methods used by Imperial regiments as standardized by the Munitorium. Despite that, the regiment utilized a lot of tried and true technologies such as the sword, the shield, and the horse. Full plate as opposed to flak armor was common, though layers of flak fabric as padding instead of leather was the norm for such. Formation fighting and mobile deployment was emphasized, but not to the extent of over-specialization.
Lucien fought on the front lines of several conflicts over 19 years, against depraved cultists, brutish orks, and traitorous heretics. He gained much glory and honor in those years, and eventually Yorke rose to the rank of Colonel in the Guard, entitling him entrance to the ranks of the Grand Knighthood, the brotherhood of officers that kept in contact with one another to compare notes, share stories of victory, and debate new tactics with one another.
Unfortunately, the old adage about the cursed Demon Lord Murphy proved all too true, and Lucien's luck turned ill. Within the next three years, more than two thirds of the regiment was destroyed in engagements against both Ork and Eldar forces, and little chance of supply from the munitorium, the Chevaliers were left to their own devices as they fought against a Dark Eldar raiding fleet, hoping to grab some of the human forces as slaves while an Ork Waaagh thought it would be dandy fun to try and wipe out the guardsmen. Though eventually the Chevaliers were reinforced by Imperial forces, they were so decimated that there was no hope of bringing the unit back up to full strength. As a result, the Munitorium decided in their wisdom to amalgamate the remaining squads from the Chevaliers and other regiments into a new unit.
It consisted of both the surviving Markellus Chevaliers, a group of Sidan Beast Warriors riding their famed fanged Rhinocerox, the 114th Mordian's supply and support platoons, and a full lance of 127th Iron Serpents' Sentinel walkers.
Together, this new unit was all under Lucien's command, which he would name the First Fulbrecht Chevaliers. He would serve with this regiment for another decade before his next promotion...
2. Since you were promoted from your regiment, have you seen any other fronts? What type of unit's command comes most naturally to you?
As a General, Lucien has only a few theaters under his belt, though he was quick to learn how to use different units' strengths together. His previous regiment (and still his personal one) was good experience in learning how to adapt to new doctrines of war quickly and efficiently to get the job done, and done right. Still, the types that he most works well with are foot infantry, cavalry and rough riders, and siege tactics.
3. Regardless of which units you've served with, what is your greatest gift as a commander?
His adaptability in regards to dealing with new situations, unending drive to succeed or at least steal victory from the enemy, and his willingness to make allies of even the most different of Guardsmen. There are few loyal guard units he will not at least make an effort to work with, and does not hold to a noble-born's usual mentality of being above others. If you do your job right, he'll respect you and give you your credit. Lie or try to put personal politics above the greater goal of victory over the enemy and he will annhilate you.
4. And naturally, what is your greatest flaw? Everyone has one!
Despite his ability to work with anyone, General Yorke can be quite judgemental. This has resulted in more than one incident of foot-in-mouth disease that appears chronic. He has a set of moral standards that he views are the minimum requirement for being a true servant of the Emperor, and those who don't at least try to measure up can find themselves staring down a firing squad. He means well though, and is willing to swallow his pride when proven wrong, or at least with sufficient evidence of doubt.
5. What does your character usually bring with them onto the field of battle?
Masterwork Hotshot laspistol w/ backpack power supply, an adamantine Power sword with sacred inscriptions and a customized grip named Nethersbane, mastercrafted Full plate armor with a refractor field generator in the gorget.
Basically I would be playing a 'Knight in King Arthur's Court' style of officer, but in 40K terms. And in case one was wondering, no he would not have a problem with Jene's forces.

BlindKitsune |

Alright, let's go for six Corps commands then - Jene's unorthodox prior career would probably preclude her having a command outside of Lord General Domitian's forces, but her creativity and ingenuity would make her a fantastic subordinate for him so he'd have her acting as a General until he has the rank and past history to make it stick.
He'd probably be a good fit for her as well, since he tends to give his subordinates more free rein than other commanders do.
As for Yorke, a well-crafted and very thorough backstory that gives me plenty to work with! The one point I'd ask you to tweak is your alias name (you can still do that before you've posted 10 times, right?). Lord Marshal puts you at the same rank as Lord General Domitian; maybe Marshal or General instead?
With that sorted, let's close recruitment for now. If we lose someone along the way (hopefully not) we can reopen it, but for now we have a fine array of commanders!

BayouSnowman |

Friend posted link in another game, but looks like I'm late to the party. If room opens up, I'm interested. Not in command, but a strategy adviser. Someone who never saw combat but had an eye for it. A simulation expert perhaps, mathematician. Or maybe the traitors when you decide to open up. I'm gonna keep up with this game, very creative idea.

BlindKitsune |

There's probably room for another strategist if you're not after a command; at the moment the command council is trying to decide where and what to land, so some more advice couldn't go astray.
I'm not sure if I'm going to open up the traitors at this point, but if you'd prefer to hold out for a possible command there then it'd probably be best not. On the other hand if you'd like to slip in now as an adviser and possible fallback if we lose a commander someplace, please feel free to write up a history and some military experience in the past. Maybe you're one of the Lord General's staff officers?

BayouSnowman |

I'm fine with joining as a strategist, don't think I have the time for a command nor the knowledge of 40k lore that some of you seem to have. I'll come up with a good bio and answer those questions asap. I see him as a man who makes connections others don't. Information is key and he always seems to be filing and plugging away data to be exploited and tested. Not sure how that'd play out on PBP but I'll try and think some more and read up on whats happened so far, that'll give me a better idea of how to settle in. Not sure if my concept is a playable one or not. Thanks for extending the invite. I'll get an alias and info up and post again if I got some questions in the meantime.

BayouSnowman |

You were the one whose recruitment post lured me to the boards here; it's the very least I could do. :3
Welcome aboard!
It's been a great community, even for non pathfinder folk. It's filled a gaming void in my life since giving up xbox. Pbp seems to fit my my time needs perfectly.
The EP game is gonna be great, enjoy the boards.

BayouSnowman |

Hey, thanks for extending the invitation, but at this point, I need to catch up first with the EP game we're in and the DW game I will be shortly begin GM'ing. I can't get to this PC right now, so count me in for later if possible. Might be able to finish next week, we'll see where things are and if my joining still makes sense.
Great reading thus far, I like the idea and looking forward to the invasion.
