I'm also open to the idea of shifting the campaign's focus, if everyone would prefer to go a different route than Rift exploration.

Making a new recruitment thread will probably get a lot of replies. The old thread seems "full" so people might not look at it, though undoubtedly some will.
I was just throwing it out there as an option. I'm not sure why interest has seemingly waned across the board. I know holidays derail a lot of campains, and they're hard to re-start afterward.
If we have to recruit, I'll start a new thread. Good call.
How long of a time lapse do you all want to do?
How long is enough time for your characters to recover and build up the nerve to strike back out after such an encounter? Want to wait the entire month so Rsss'tak gets a new mount? Less metagamey than that?
Depending on the amount of time lapse, your rumormill will be updated with info from my real life game (currently on hold until I get back to St. Louis from Virginia in spring/summer).
I think a week or more would be enough for Yochtanl to build up the nerve again, though he's not going to want to go the same direction. However, he'll wait if others need more time.
I'd have to be making profession or craft checks for cash, as I'm down to a measly 1 sp.
Everyone can make skill checks for income when you get back to Riftview.
Let's assume a base of 2 weeks to recover, earn money, and recruit new companions/hirelings, if needed.
I am willing to continue...the wait for a new mount is a bigger deal for me though....as you can imagine. Rsss'tak would probably disappear into the swamps for a while to try and capture and then train a new mount...I could see that taking easily a month...

Lapsing a month is okay. Yochtanl can work in town in the meantime, as he's low on cash.
Right on. Tomorrow afternoon I'll give a time lapse, feel free to roleplay in town from that point onward. Shaygen will give you all discounted or free rooms for the month in return for helping around the bar or fighting in the pit.
Everyone currently in the game is welcome to stay, but I think we need to recruit 1-2 new players. What sorts of allies would you want? Telling new players your preferences, missing roles etc., may help.
I think we need some type of healer, otherwise I think we can accomodate any other classes...
Yeah, I don't have any healing atm, so a divine caster would be preferable. Not really any other preferences personally.
A month is a bit long but Palag doesn't have anything against it. He can finish Blacksock's training and do some work in the town to earn money for a new crossbow! If I remember correctly, a Craft skill can be used to make money pretty well. Palag would also like to keep in touch with Lolfi.
Agreed, a healer would be nice.

Just so you know, I can gadly switch out the spell beguiling gift for cure light wounds if we're still lacking in healing.
I may just add it to your list, and say that your familiar traded a spell you know for it to a local witch's familiar.

Yes, we can run it with less people. I was just hoping you guys could get some assistance. Not all the pre-statted encounter areas are as tough as that one that close.
I'll let you all know that there are 3 potential TPK areas for 1st-2nd level characters within 2 days travel of Riftview. You found one of them.

Sorry; my fridays and saturdays are usually the worst days for my pbps, as my weekends are usually filled.
I like the druid applicant (though I don't like trying to pronounce the name :P), and he seems serious about it. 3-4 posts/week seems like a reasonable minimum to me.

Yep, sounds good...I can usually post 1/day except a little slower on weekends...
I'll make them take defensive actions for a round or two, then DMPC as needed. If the player drops, I may NPC them until it makes sense to exit them from the story, as it did with previous players.
Druid is looking quite suitable this far.
The post minimum sounds good. Of course at some times there are points when a certain character has nothing to do (like being unconscious or asleep or just separated from the others) but I guess those are special cases.
Updating from a family member's computer.
My laptop finally died, and until I can afford to fix it or replace it, I won't be able to post more than about once a week.
Also, I don't have access to my image files or photoshop until then, so... I will do my best to keep posting, but there may be a lag for a few weeks. :(
I'm going to try posting from my phone if I can, and if combats happen before I have a computer again, we'll just have to do it description-wise. I hope that's okay.

Fate, sorry to hear about you computer...the once a week thing is just too hard to try and keep track of (character and checking the site) so I am going to bow out of this one.
Good luck with the game...hopefully at some point you can get this one back up and running.

I had some nasty flu there, but it's going away now. :)
Computer problems are annoying, definitely. I suppose it's better to hold until we all can post properly and have enough players. Then again, I guess we could do some social role-playing just with the PCs while waiting. Don't know how that would work though, maybe it'd need some planning.
Anyway, even if we go on hold, I'm ready to continue whenever. I do like the game!
