Kinshara Medaan |

I'm here!
Taking a look at party balance. Due to a quirk in how Recruitment went, we wound up with very little in the way of a front line. I'm considering changing my archer Cleric of Erastil to a melee Cleric of Iomedae. Changes to the background and such would be relatively minimal. If anyone has other thoughts, let me know. Otherwise I'll change my character up after I get home from work tonight (relatively late).

DM Azure_Zero |

@Kinshara
The upside of being the only cleric is that you'll be SUPER effective later.
Front liners are great for the first 2 modules, after that Front liners will start having a harder time.
And a lot of frontliners without a cleric can be bad, the two bards are going to have their work cut out for themselves.
@Darion
you might want to go over your spells and see what will work best with the current party. You'll not need Comprehend Languages, or Mount at this time.

Corindus Droven |

Reporting for duty.
I'll probably be on our front line since I have the highest strength and I'm focusing on two-weapon fighting.
Boreas, having the highest AC, will also be helpful in that regards.
Also, since I'm using the Skirmisher ranger archetype, I'll be trading my spellcasting for my Hunter's Tricks, so Kinshara's divine magic will be all the more precious.

Boreas Summers |

Dotting :)
I dunno, Corindus seems to be rather melee focused, if not particularly durable. Later on he also gets an animal companion.
Also I wont be particularly effective in combat anyways.
But ya, Corindus would have a hard time protecting all 3 of us on his own. Still, I am sure we could make it work, even if we have to be more cautious about it (and probably more willing to flee from disadvantageous situations, rather then just slugging them out).
I still have not gotten equipment done, I will try and get that done tonight.
Boreas, having the highest AC, will also be helpful in that regards.
O.O???
Oh. That did not get changed over... I only have an AC of 13 and 9hps ^_^ I hope thats not the highest!!!Fixed a few other errors as well.

Whoops, nevermind.
I'll just stay up front for the party.

@Darion
Starting now you should use your alias both Here in the discussion thread and the Gameplay thread when you post.
@All
I've put up two maps at the top above the campaign info tab, so you have the Layout of the area and the town of Falcon's Hollow.

DM Azure_Zero |

@Darion
Quick PBP formatting Standard
Bold Text is for Speech and Talking uses the b tag
Italic Text is for Inner Thoughts uses the i tag
Bold Italic Text is for Mental Talking i.e. Telepathy
Now there are two more tags for augmenting speech the bigger tag is used for Yelling, and the smaller tag is used for whispering.
OOC text is for Out-Of-Character text. uses the ooc tag
Dice: 1d20 ⇒ 9 uses the dice tag

I changed out comprehend languages, but then realized it was my Diviner bonus spell slot so I must keep the comprehend languages spell memorized unless you'll let me use my specialty slot for a non divine school spell (that is the only divination 1st level spell l have). Also I like Mount for combat as a meat shield, cover, and an additional attacker if that is permissible

DM Azure_Zero |

Oh and so I can keep a more correct perspective and imagining of a scene
Give a description of your characters with there heights, as it might effect if some characters you interact with are Literally Looking down or UP at you.
I'll make some character renders and a Height reference to help me keep track of things better and have everyone with a common visual idea of their party mates.

Corindus Droven |

His face is sharply weathered from years of salt wind and hard labor on the sea. His close-cropped black hair looks like it has been bleached by the sun, though his eyes remain the color of darkwood. While he remains very lean from years of deprivation, both aboard the accursed Cheliaxian ship he escaped from and on the streets of Augustana, this does not disguise his muscles, thick as a ship’s rigging.
Corindus always keeps his upper arms covered to hide the slave brand on his right arm. He avoids making eye contact with others, a habit picked up to avoid inviting the wrath of his old captain or various street thugs.
He seldom smiles, self-conscious of the couple teeth he’s lost to fights and past poor hygiene. Nevertheless, he otherwise keeps himself immaculately groomed to distance himself from his rough past.

Darion The Diviner |

He is mildly handsome, but not very outgoing or charismatic. He is quite healthy and agile, but doesn't focus on these things to much. His weight is 160 lbs. His eyes are blue, and hair dark brown.
Where he is really in his element is when it comes to knowledge and intellectual matters. He likes to impress with his knowledge but is not arrogant about it.
He usually looks to be deep in thought as if he is puzzling out some incantation or formula in his mind. He is religious and pious about his religion, but never felt as if it was necessary to enter the priesthood.

Darion The Diviner |

I'd rather not deal with a mount, especially as the dungeons and ruins are NOT mount friendly.
There are other good Divination spells; True Strike, Identify, and any of the detect spells.
Well with your permission I will remove comprehend languages from my spell book and add Detect Secret Doors.

Kinshara Medaan |

Yesterday kicked my butt. I got back from my workout and kind of collapsed. I'll see if I can get Kinshara rebuilt this morning.
Edit: Rebuild is mostly done. I may want to adjust the equipment a bit still. Since I did it quickly, I'll want to check over the statistics for a mistake too. Her background and relationships haven't caught up yet. Since Kinshara is now worshipping Iomedae, should we say that she joined Lady Cirthana's garrison recently?

Go ahead and make the swap.

Lady Cirthana does not have a garrison, just a few worshipers at the moment.

Kinshara Medaan |

That's weird...I was sure that something I read said that she had a small garrison. Anyway....
I'm trying to brush up my background & NPC relationships after changing Kinshara over to a priestess of Iomedae. Lacking a good reason to pick someone different, I'd like to keep her knowing Milon Rhoddam, but I still don't know much about him. Can I get a little more information on the hunter?
Currently I'm thinking that instead of working under Milon, Kinshara worked with Laurel in her shop. It's been a few years since then, however.
Also, I was reading in the Inner Sea Gods book about the clergy of Iomedae, and it says that their order has military-style ranks for their heirarchy (general, captain & so forth). I'm assuming still that Kinshara has sent a letter ahead to Lady Cirthana as an introduction. Would I know what rank or title to use for her?

DM Azure_Zero |

All I have on Milon Rhoddam is that he works for the Lumber Consortium, operating out of one of it's many camps.
I think for a very small military-style kirk out in a small town, I think they'd modify the titles a bit to better fit in.
So Lady Cirthana is known as Lady Cirthana and has the title of Lady since he is the head of this kirk.

Boreas Summers |

Summers is short, so just about everyone will be looking down on him :)
I also finished his equipment (it puts him at a medium load) and he has a lot of alcohol and herbs, but not much actual useful adventuring gear. He also has a cask of wine slung over his shoulder that he carries everywhere :)
Summers stands around 4'11" tall, and weighs in at 180lbs, most of which is around his generous stomach.
Summers is a jolly fellow, his entire meaning for existence is to find enjoyment and pleasure in the world around him and his excitable charms are often infectious to those around him. In fact they are suspiciously contagious as even otherwise guarded and wary people tend to open up to him as if he was a close friend.
The other notable trait of Summers is his love for alcohol and he can often be seen sneaking a drink of whisky from a flask in his hand or straight from the cask slung over his shoulder. Summers is always willing to share what he has with those around him and he is also a good cook (he always carries a pouch of spices around with him incase he has to do some impromptu cooking). Indeed, it is a great joy for Summers to be able to cook a surprise meal for some friends with a few drinks on the side and just enjoy a good time together.
However this enjoyment of simple pleasures can also lead Summers to be somewhat lazy as he often prefers to take the easy way in any tasks he has at hand.
Another thing to note about Summers is that it seems that the forest itself is either rejecting the Satyr or is simply displeased with him. It seems that animals do no willingly approach him from some instinctual distrust of the Satyr and indeed, they sometimes torment him by throwing acorns or stealing his food. Why the forest would be upset with him is unknown.
Here is an image of what I kinda base my mental image of Summers on, except with a really young face. He is short ("I'm five foot, plus two hoofs tall. That makes me Seven feet tall!"), fat, and covered in grey-brown fur.
Hes only 4'11" but he fudges the last inch :)
He also has a perpetual cask slung underneath his arm or over his shoulder, kinda like Gragas from LoL, and thats a pretty important detail of his image.
Note that next level I intend on taking a skill rank in Craft: Alchemy and Craft: Cooking as I am thinking that it would be quite fun for him to start mixing his own narcotics and whatnot (whether he actually does or not, at least he has the ability) and he improves on his cooking abilities :)
Ya, this guy is basically a walking Drug Store :/
Edit: There we go. I am in. It took a day longer then it should have but Lets get going :)

Darion The Diviner |

Missing Mr Summers....
I look good I think I might try out for a boy band if this adventuring thing doesn't work out

Boreas Summers |

I still have to read that, but what are you making me read anyways DX
I also forgot to tell you, Wed/Thurs are very busy days for me and my posting will probably slow down those 2 days.

Boreas Summers |

Ya skimmed through it, I thought that it was pretty bad that you have to be a lvl 8 barbarian before you can take the lackey prestige class D:
No fruit tho, I didn't find that one. However I saw a couple of drinks, alchemical items and Liarfig Wine that could be fun :)
Especially the Liarfig!

@Kinshara
I’m guessing that this guy and the priestess in Brickasnurd Hildrinsocks story likely belong to the same order or at least worship the same diety
I see the man in blue has caught more then one eye....
I won't say what you, Darion, might have right or wrong...As it is better to keep the mystery until the time is right.

On another note I have a few extra things happening in the background and shadows of the area....

DM Azure_Zero |

Since it is October, and Halloween is coming up I though I should prepare something scary for it.
And I have something that should scare you...
A hint is in the movie Stay Alive

Kinshara Medaan |

In a recent post there was a GM Only spoiler in one of your posts, Azure_Zero. I'm avoiding it but also confused. Is it only supposed to be read by the GM? If so, why post it?
I'm new to play by post, so maybe this is a thing that happens, but I'm just trying to understand.

DM Azure_Zero |

The spoiler contains rolls and checks, so you don't know if Lady Cirthana has the right information or right conclusions.
As even an NPC is Character and thus can make checks and either pass or fail.
Now some GM's put some GM only spoilers when certain things/events happen so they have a reminder if they forgot what something was like; due to a busy day in RL, constant distraction etc.
Also some GM rolls are for the PCs....like disease, poison, noticing something etc...

Boreas Summers |

Ive seen a GM put minion Hps in a spoiler so they have a quick, fresh counter on the minions health that is easy to reference.
I have also seen another GM roll perception/saves/ect in a spoiler for the same reason.
I also saw a GM put random numbers in spoilers with the "real" rolls mixed in there somewhere, and with no labels for the rolls so that the players have no idea what they mean (and sometimes get paranoid XD)
I have also known about (not seen) some GMs roll all those stats in a different format or even with (GASP!) real dice and store the info somewhere off-site so that the players have no way of knowing those rolls, or even that they were made.
The last method is more work, and sometimes harder to find where you put the stuffs (lots and lots of stuffz for GMz, it can get hard to organize)
Some GMs just dont care and let the players see the Die fall.
But every GM that decides to put it in a spoiler knows that they have no ability to prevent people from reading it, aside from asking nicely, so they mostly just put information that is minor metaknowlege at most.
I like it because I can read over a campaign after a long time has passed and get some AHA! moments :)
It comes down to "If your going to read, don't Metagame!"

Boreas Summers |

Botting Mr Summers
"I just hope the rumor of a hag is not true,
and that it's a coven of some enchanting witches..."
Yes, Pun is Intended.
I approve of the pun ;)
I could play a lovely tune for them! Maybe they would let me play with them then! :D
Boreas Summers |

I've put some new NPC images in the NPC Folder 2 link.
I believe there'll be an image of interest for each player....
Reading up on it, when we left, we went west to the Lumber Camp, correct? And from there we went which direction? North?
as for the pictures, thank you :) They do help the immersion.
And Kabran looks scary XD Its a small wonder that Summers likes him so much >_>
Have we met Mary yet? Or did I just forget about her? Shes rather... Buff... She should be a hard lady to forget!

DM Azure_Zero |

I hope that I'm giving the game a Good Halloween feel for the moment....
Edit:
Those that want to try their hand at using Daz Studio for making their own renders
Should try it now, since it is the annual Platinum Club sale (Lasts about a month) and you can get FREE content or really Cheap compared to what it regularly goes for.
Though you should stick to Genesis (1,2,3,8) character content (or characters numbered, 5,6,7,8)

Kinshara Medaan |

Regarding Enlarge Person: the spell is tricky. In raw number terms it is just trading damage for armor class, which is frequently not a good trade. The exception is reach, either to take advantage of having reach against smaller enemies or to negate an opponent's reach advantage. That's reasonable enough in this particular fight. I've seen using Enlarge Person go very south before, though.
