....She muttered her own spell, as violet fire began to spiral up around her. As she focused on Lucan the flame shot forth like an arrow and surrounded him with a sparkling Violet light. At least that should make it hard for him to slink away... She thought to herself, as she headed upwards towards Bronwyn.
You're not up just yet but hold on to that thought...
Squeak Warforged |
Alchemists can use Wands - or at least Squeak does.
Squeak strode forward "Protect her. he ordered Palisade as he moved calmly and deliberately to the fight. As he strode he crammed a pastry pipe full of high-density fuel into his intake.
Everything snapped into focus. Plates moved. Saws extended. Eyes snapped into crimson life. "S-s-s-s-s-top." he ordered his target.
Take Feral Mutagen. +4 str. Still no armour, though :(
On the other hand Palisade should be able to get to B much faster this way.
Vi Olaro |
Things happened very fast. Vi felt a burning coldness on her inner thigh, and pulled her dress up so she could release Ice from its hidden sheath. Holding it with the flat of the blade along her inner arm, she made her way around the fleeing guests and onto the dance floor, hoping to get behind Lucan before he killed anybody with that thing.
Going for the flank
Bronwyn d'Deneith |
Of course it was Lucan but the dice roller failed me :(
Bronwyn's eyes widened in disbelief as she realized she had been dancing with Lucan. How could I not have known?
She tried to rapidly process all of the information revealed as the blue dragon masked lady tried to cast a spell on Lucan. It was obvious to anyone who had studied magic what she had tried to cast. She had either been cocky or stupid to think a spell like that would work on someone like Lucan. They had seemingly been allies a second ago so why risk it by attempting the spell?
sense motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Does her awesome roll give her insight into why the blue dragon masked lady cast the spell on Lucan?
spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
As Bronwyn pondered things, the sword appeared in Lucan's hand. Maybe it had all been a rouse to force him to make the sword materialize. Whatever the reason, Bronwyn's focus was on the sword.

Palisade |
Bronwyn is the main concern, so double move to get as close to her as Palisade can, angling closer to the battle and Lucian and further, just in case the Lady decided she needs to get closer to aim her spells better ;^)
Palisade heard unit Squeak's order to protect Lady d'Deneith and needed to further urging. Using its bulk to advantage, it rushed towards Bronwyn, drawing its dagger on the move, its eye darting from the mage to the sword-wielding Lucian. As long as he was content to attack the masked lady or fight her guardians it had no particular problem leaving him at it.
Will keep an eye on dropped weaponry... not that I expect Palisade to find a lot... but just in case it'll get an opportunity to upgrade from its knife by picking up something someone killed by Lucian has dropped...
Vi Olaro |
Vi stepped forward, taking care not to get swept up in the mass of people getting in each others way in their panic to leave. Lucan was well and truly surrounded, but he didn't seem perterbed by this in the least. Let's see how he likes Ice's bite.

Vi came in low and swept up with Ice; the dagger sliced up the outer side of his thigh, sending blood spraying across her arm. Bewildered by the viciousness of the attack, Lucan staggered slightly as he lost a little sure-footedness for a precious few seconds.
Debilitating injury: bewildered. Lucan is -2AC for one round, -4AC vs Vi. Offensive defence: Vi has +2AC vs Lucan this round
Grinning, Vi kept her body low and prepared to counter the inevitable attack, moving to ensure she stayed flanking with one of the similiarily masked wait staff.

Oh yeah. He is a Vampire! Bane (Undead) for the win, baby.
Squeak nodded at one of the surviving guards, on the other side of him. 'Humans are so... fragile. A cut a few inches deep and their animating fluid seeps right out' He waited a second for Lucan's gaze to flicker to the other side, and pounced to the attack, whirling saws slicing through Lucan's flesh as if it were, well, flesh. Bronwyn's line of sight on Lucan became obscured by Squeak's large frame. She needed to move but also released that it may be risky considering the floor beneath her became slippery.
reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
She decided to take a step and as she did, she couldn't keep her footing and she fell in a pool of glammerweave fabric. As she fell, she let out a yelp of dismay. However, she had enough sense to twist herself a little to the side so that she fell outside the area of grease.
Palisade |
Hmm... let's show ourselves as the good guys by buffing! Casting Bless, since it affects all allies in a large radius... someone might actually recognize it and appreciate the fact. That, and move towards Lucian's NW side, but remain one square distant since Palisade cannot actually attack this round... not that one puny dagger will do much against a vampire anyway... not that Palisade knows this ;^)
Seeing Lady d'Deneith and companion Lucina Mindragus safely away from the battle for the time being, Palisade veered from its previous course to try and circle around their foe, to limit his movements and distract him from attacking the apparently defenseless female by presenting yet another target. As the 'forged moved, it touched the locket worn under its chef's apron and invoked the blessing of the Creator-Goddess on the forces assembled to oppose subject Lucian and his possible allies.
"...chapter fourteen, paragraph four... employee resposible for... building morale among the workforce... daily lunch breaks no shorther than..." the 'forged intoned, watching a purplish-grey aura flicker into being around his companions and the guards overt and covert fighting the sword-wielder, bolstering their morale and granting their strikes the favor of the divine.

She reached into one of the hidden pockets in her dress and pulled out one of the three vials of holy water that she'd brought with her. Nearly fumbling the lid, she managed to open it, and poured the clear liquid over Ice's blade.
I assume that would take a full round action to retrieve it and dose the blade?

I wonder if her mask is dyed? Dragons sure are cool. Well, not when they're flaming you, but still. Cool. Cool as ice. ICE!" Shaking her head in an effort to dispel the confusion that nearly settled over her, Vi raised Ice and moved forward.
Considering the fact that his sister was trying to talk him into leaving, Vi thought she'd add her voice. "Lucan, please, this isn't you. It's the sword. Let it go, there's still time to save you. Listen to Grilsha."

Bronwyn's yelp of dismay turned into a cry of pain as the crossbow bolt embedded itself in her chest. The pain was excruciating and tears started to run down her cheeks. Her breath was ragged and she realized she didn't have any healing potions along. She wanted to channel her pain into directing fire at Lucan but the others were in the way. Bronwyn did the only thing she could think of and sent two missiles of pure force streaking towards Lucan.

Lucina Mindragus |
It's perpetually loading for me. Luckily I skimmed it earlier, but just didn't get a chance to post...But apologies if I missed something.
Lucina was heading upwards to assist Vi when she saw the bolt come flying for Bronwyn. Turning around she moved back towards the wizard with uncharacteristic haste, putting herself in between Bronwyn and the guards. "You idiots!" she growled at them, "Maybe save your ammunition for the vampire that is tearing apart your 'waiters'!
Not confidant that barrage wouldn't continue, Lucina hissed out more incantations as mist flowed out of her mouth and surrounded the area around Lucina and Bronwyn. All around them became obscured by the white fluff, which the exception of each other, as one could somewhat be viewed as a hazy figure by the other. "If you can recover, protect yourself or attack without a clear line of sight, now would be the time to do so...But if you need to leave, the mist will remain here if you need to hide. Lucina whispered through the mist. "Watch out for the greased floor. It is still to your right..." There was an oddly protective tone to her voice that Bronwyn had not heard before.

As Vi approached, she shouted, "Squeak! Shove over, surround him. Let me flank!" As she saw how little of the horrific damage the 'forged was dealing was actually getting through, she added, "He's a vamp! Remember what the girls said after their research? Needs to be magic and silver! Rub that stuff on your blades! That'll make him bleed." She hoped that adding the holy water to her blade would be good enough to really hurt him.

Will save: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 2 = 18
Oh... it does indeed say "and" there... wonder if it's a bug or intentional? Well, no matter since someone attacked Bronwyn, all bets are off ;^) Take aim at that gnome, then charge! But since there might be some diplomatic circumstances here let's do it a bull rush and knock the nasty little lawn ornament to the nearest wall.
Palisade had just got close enough to consider joining the offense when it heard Lady d'Deneith's cry of anguish. It turned immediately around, saw the crossbow bolt sticking out of her chest and, following the trajectory, it located the gnome who was franticly reloading.
All thoughts of subject Lucian immediately forgotten, Palisade headed straight for the offending gnome, quickly building speed, lowering its shoulder as it decided to ignore the less-than-optimal weapon it had access to and instead opted to use its own body as a weapon. The gnome, focused on preparing its weapon for another shot was slow to realize the new danger, only raising his gaze as he began to feel the floor vibrate under the heavy footsteps. His eyes widened in terror and he had just enough time to open his mouth in preparation of a scream when the over 300 pounds of steel, lifewood and stone hit him.
Bull rush: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 28 This should be enough to push the gnome quite some distance, considering he's smaller and since he was using a bow he won't even get an AoO. Serves you right, trying to hurt the Lady!
Eerily quiet if one discounted the sound of its footfalls, Palisade hit the gnome with a textbook tackle, his momentum picking up the much lighter opponent and carrying them both into the table and chair behind the gnome, with the guard taking the brunt of the blow. ”Demand. You will cease and desist in your attempts to harm Lady d’Deneith or this one will remove your arms one joint at a time,” Palisade growled directly into the guard’s ear before it untangled itself from the remains of the chairs and the table it had crushed with the gnome’s body and straightened, looking to see if someone else would threaten its young ward.

The OOC of the previous turn had asked that Palisade, Squeak, and Vi roll a will save or be confused as per the spell for one round.
I don't want to upload (or email) as an .rtf file because it would mean me having two files and things get complicated. I really want this to be simple and uploading to Google Sites seemed to have worked well in the past.
I'm emailing the turns for the time being but only as a temporary measure. If we keep having issues with Google Site then I'll find another site as a repository, which is really the only use I have for the website.

Holy water is a splash weapon and not something that you can smear on your weapon for any significant effect.
I'm assuming you are waiting for the vampire to retreat before throwing the holy water flask (delay/ready action) and not on your turn with the vampire right next to you.
Let me know otherwise.
