Yeah, I think you get to apply the boon to whatever PFS character you want in this case :)
Will be doing some work on updating Nella's stuff today and she'll most certainly be purchasing a cold-weather outfit!

Only 8 gold, so not too much of an investment :)

I am planning on going shopping for Phoebee tonight!

How does buying the masterwork item from a party member work?
| EM±GM |
Just buy it like anything else.
Its purely story fluff that a party member made it.
read it like: You gave her 100 gp to purchase the supplies ... whereupon the instrument was made... and she had 20gp profit at the end of it all.
We'll blissfully ignore the time constraints usually present on such items =)

Don't want to clutter the 'new' gameplay thread with goodbyes, but Tchak says goodbye to each of you individually, with a little hug for Phoebe and he takes the proffered cracker with any cracks about parrots... As he leaves with his Ulfen guide, he munches the cracker, not complaining about dry mouth at all, though he does follow it up with a long swig from his waterskin.

Going to declare this here; Nel will keep one spell slot 'open' for 1st and 2nd level spells so she can fill in if we need something unique. It should only take 15 minutes of prayer/meditation to memorize a spell if I remember right.
I've not had a chance to do shopping yet (working tonight) but besides the cold weather outfit I'm not sure what else I would get. Maybe a Wand of Endure Elements like Tchak did, hehe.

I am looking up masterwork instruments and cant find anything on them, at least online.

Under Masterwork Instrument
Also in the Core Rulebook in the Equipment section under Tools and Skill Kits.

Okay, Nel will definitely have purchased an Wand of Endure Elements back before we left the old hunting lodge so I'll add that to her sheet and subtract the 2 PP accordingly. Other than that and the cold weather outfit I think she'll be good to go for now, especially since the scenario gifted us with some extra food and tents :)
Masym Daleare
|
Yeahhhh...these tents are going to be an issue as well since we will need 3 of them, plus tents for the goblins. (I hope the gobbos are carrying their own packs too.) Masym can certainly carry one, plus the extra food and supplies too, but he will be encumbered which may not be a good thing for the party's scout here he he.
I think Ant Haul may not be a bad idea here, as Nella has picked up the Endure Elements wand which should help save spell slots here.
As an aside, sleeping arrangements should be as follows:
1) Masym/Dead Eye
2) Nella/Phoebee
3) Terrill/Malusha
We can decide on the watch rotation later, but I was thinking of
Malusha/Dead Eye for first watch, Phoebee/Terrill for second and Masym/Nella for last watch.
Thoughts?
| EM±GM |
The goblins have no possessions at all (other than Storc with his bit of rope). I will assume they have the goblin version of cold-weather gear... but that's it.
As for Malusha's question:
a 50 charge wand of a 1st level spell costs 750 gp.
You can buy any item worth 750gp or less for 2 PP.
So yes, you can... depending on the wand =)
At 1st level, 750 gp is usually beyond the maximum fame allowed for purchasing... but buy items with prestige bypasses that requirement.
As such, using PP to buy a wand after one's first scenario is quite common and useful.

Malusha, I don't know if you missed it but Nella already said she purchased an Endure Elements wand so you may want to get a different wand. I hear the Cure Light Wounds wand is rather popular :P
Malusha
|
Yeah. I did see that. But I'm torn. I think we're going to be out in this weather for a while and if we have to use the wand on 6 people every day, it will only take 8 days to use up the wand (Endure Elements). If we have two wands then we get 16 days out of it.
And that's not including using the wand for the goblins.
If we don't use the wands and if the GM plays strictly by the rules, we'll be doing a ton of fort saves all the time (1 per hour when the temp is < 40F, 6 times per hour when temp < 0F) and the cold weather gear just gives you a +5 on your fort save.
Endure Elements means that you don't have to do the fort saves down to -50F.
Now maybe the GM will do the cold weather differently.

Sorry, yesterday and today were nuts. I have had to deal with a priest sending me harassing texts and calls for not returning calls.

There's also the fact that depending on how many charges get used and how quickly we go through our series, a Wand of Endure Elements might also come in handy once we all eventually go our separate ways hehe.
Malusha
|
I want to make sure I understand this correctly. We have 48 pounds of stuff to carry so that's an additional 8 lbs per person.
That gives us the food and tents.
Tent arrangement is:
Jones/Masym
Nella/Phoebee
Terrill/Malusha
Watch shifts:
1st Malusha/Jones
2nd Phoebee/Terrill
3rd Masym/Nella
Nella has an Endure Elements wand.
Malusha has an Endure Elements wand.
Is there anything else we need to decide?
Penelope 'Nella' Tabor
|
If it'll make things easier on someone Nella has no problem with memorizing Ant Haul like was suggested earlier!
I'm also fine with the tent and watch arrangements; good call having our two non-humans take the darkest watch shift :3
Malusha
|
Yeah, I forgot to mention Ant Haul. Malusha only gets 2 hours of effect so I don't think it makes sense for him to use a spell slot for Ant Haul. Unless I'm misunderstanding.
Penelope 'Nella' Tabor
|
Oof...Nella is already rocking a medium encumberance as it is so she can't carry much more without using Ant Haul. She or whoever she casts it on will get 6 hours out of it though since she's 3rd level which would probably cover a decent chunk of our travel time each day; more if I wanted to devote more than one spell slot to it.
I know Terril said he could carry another 100lbs without encumberance affecting him so there's also that. We could also try having the goblins help carry the stuff that isn't food but I don't know how well that would go over...
Phoebee
|
Can we get a wagon and some caribou or something like that?
Masym Daleare
|
Phoebee, I think the reason we are traveling on foot is because the goblins have...issues with both horses and dogs, which I suspect goes for caribou too he he.
| EM±GM |
Hrm... ok, usually I don't worry about these sorts of things, until it seems like folks are ignoring it.
But I need people to actually check their encumbrance. Including the almost 200 lbs of supplies you gained with the goblins (food and tents et al).
Terril, for instance, was just barely under a medium load *before* he volunteered to carry 28 lbs of food, which would put him into a medium load. So he should currently be moving at a 20 (and you would not have reached the tower on a run unless you dumped your gear like Masym.)
With Ant Haul going, Nella would be in a medium load if she had to carry all the tents... but once it runs out, she can't move at all.
Etc.
Right now, I've got Terril with the extra food, but no clue who has the tents (in whole or in part).
Normally, I'd just assume each person has a tent, except Terril, who has the food... so would just have everyone moving along under medium encumbrance... which seems appropriate for a pack laden hike through the countryside... but would like someone to confirm all this.
I'm ok with you shedding the packs etc, when you need to move a bit faster (just let me know), but I'd like folks to check either way.

With her current gear, minus any of the additional food or tents and sans Ant Haul, Nella is at 73 lbs which is Medium for her. More than 76 will put her into Heavy. So even to carry one of the tents she'll either have to use Ant Haul or trek along at what, 15 feet per round? Either one I'm fine with; or if someone else wants to double up on carrying a couple of the tents then Ant Haul can go to that person.
"Dead-Eye" Jones
|
Jones can carry 30 pounds of gear to stay in medium load or 90 pounds to be carrying a heavy load.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd assume we would n have dropped unnecessary equipment before moving tactically toward the towers.
