I should be able to update tomorrow, we have off of school.

![]() |

I'm ready when you are!

![]() |

Currently working my two usual nights for the week so it might take me a bit to get Nella's coin and such updated to reflect the most recent chronicle. Only purchase I have in mind right now is a Handy Haversack which she should be able to afford :)

Does Pathfinder have magical bard instruments?

![]() |

I am ready, couldnt really think of anything to buy,

EM±GM |

Although there are magical instruments of various sorts, Phoebee, most of them simply allow for specific magical effects (Like the Pipes of the Sewers summoning rats, or Harp of Charming enchanting folks, or the Lyre of Building well... building things)
To date, I've seen a few show up on chronicles. (Drums of Panic and the afor mentioned Pipes for sure, perhaps others)
I don't think there are any instruments like they had back in the early DnD days, which I think is more what you're imagining.

![]() |

Ya, I remember that there were different instruments of the bards, I think it was called. Kind of sad that there is no equivalent in Pathfinder.
For some reason I can imagine them walking around like Donald Duck in this episode:

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past day or two; work has been busy with people being out sick. Hopefully will be able to get up a gameplay post tonight (if I don't pass out again) when I get home but until then feel free to bot Nella as needed if you need a skill check or a spell from her!

EM±GM |

According to the PbP Online coordinator fellow, all boons for GM's and Players that have been reported to date, should have been sent to the emails provided.
So could Phoebee, Malusha, and Jones check your mailboxes (and perhaps spam/junk folders) to see if they've arrived?
If not I can follow up.
(For instance I know my GM boon didn't show up from the default email they sent it, but then Jesse sent it from a different email and it arrived fine)

Got mine but haven't opened it yet.

Brutal Reputation: You have developed a reputation as an intimidating figure and fierce combatant. Once
per adventure, you can enhance your reputation. Your reputation grows if you succeed at an Intimidate
check that is written in to an adventure or successfully demoralize two or more foes during one combat.
Your reputation also grows when you confirm a critical hit against an opponent whose CR is greater
than your character level or suffer (and survive) a critical hit that deals an amount of damage equal to at
least 5 times your character level, leaving you with a permanent, visible scar. When you achieve any of
these goals during an adventure, ask your GM to record the adventure’s name and her Pathfinder Society
number on the blanks below.
Scenario Name GM Number
____________________________________________________ ___________

Once you have successfully built your reputation in 10 adventures, word of your deeds provides you with
an enduring benefit. Choose one of the following boons, and cross the other two off the Chronicle sheet.
• Your reputation gives weight to your threats. You gain a +1 bonus on Intimidate checks to demoralize
creatures. This bonus increases to +2 if you have dealt damage to them within the last minute.
• Your thick scars partially deflect blows. You gain DR 3/— that applies only against critical hits and
stacks with other forms of damage reduction.
• Your fearsome reputation inspires your opponents to flee from battle sooner. Show this boon to your
GM at the beginning of the adventure. When you are fighting a foe whose morale condition indicates
that they flee or surrender when reduced to a specific number of hit points, this number increases by
10% of their maximum hit points. For example, if a foe with 90 hit points has a morale condition that
he flees when reduced to 10 hit points or fewer, he instead flees when reduced to 19 hit points or fewer.

Ah, good to know the boons are showing up.
As of course most of you are aware, tomorrow is Thanksgiving state-side.
(I myself am going up to Canada for the weekend)
So expect everyone will be mostly busy for the next few days. But will check in daily still, just not quite as often as usual =)
Enjoy your holiday, those that get it!
(hm.... is anyone actually outside the US here?)

![]() |

Though I didn't win any here, I did win a couple of boons from other Gameday games and they showed up yesterday as well - so apparently the system is working as intended!
I'll be working tomorrow night and Friday night as usual, so sadly not a ton of celebrating for me. On the bright side I've been promised leftovers to take to work at least :)

![]() |

Happy Thanksgiving for all the U.S. folks and Happy Thursday for everyone! :)

![]() |

Hey folks, Masym's player wanted me to let you know that he's out of town until Sunday and probably won't be doing much if any posting until then.

![]() |

DM, I know that this is the last of the trilogy you were going to run for us but would you consider running more for this group? I think we work well together and I like your DM style.

![]() |

I'll second Phoebee, it's been great fun playing with everyone so far! Hopefully Nel is proving good to have around and not a pain to anyone.

![]() |

Hooray

![]() |

Nel gives Phoebee gas lol

![]() |

^ Sounds more like something Isme my alchemist might do :P

![]() |

:)

![]() |

I am thinking of maybe going Evangelist with her. Do you think that Shelyn would be an appropriate goddess for her?

![]() |

That may work Phoebee, and I do agree Shelyn would be a very appropriate choice for you. This smacks of a good RP opportunity!

![]() |

I was reading up on her church in the gods book and bards rank in her clergy. It does make sense.

![]() |

The evangelist for Sheyln is a perfect match for bards in their boons!

![]() |

I say go for it if you think it fits the character! :)

![]() |

I think it does

![]() |

dumb question, would dipping one level in cleric be a good thing if only to get the glaive proficiency?

EM±GM |

I wouldn't think so.
Isn't there an ioun stone that can give a weapon proficiency?
You're still level 1 and can adjust some things to get it as well.
As a half-elf, you can swap your skill focus for a weapon focus.
There's a trait that can kind of do it... at least for a specific glaive. (Heirloom weaponry?) Though not sure if that's PFS legal or not.
Probably other options.
Don't dip cleric unless you want some of the other cleric stuff. Don't do it just for a weapon proficiency.

![]() |

Ancestral arms I think is the name of the trait.

![]() |

Some half-elves receive training in an unusual weapon. Half-elves with this racial trait receive Exotic Weapon Proficiency or Martial Weapon Proficiency with one weapon as a bonus feat at 1st level. This racial trait replaces the adaptability racial trait.
The bad thing about it is that it gets rid of my skill focus in perform :(

![]() |

Maybe if I trade out my extra performance feat?

EM±GM |

No, I was talking two different things.
There's the ancestral arms thing that half-elves get, where you trade skill focus for weapon focus.
But there's also a trait that anyone can take that allows you to be proficient in a single specific weapon (ie: not all glaives, just that one particular glaive). That's the Heirloom Weaponry one I mentioned... though you'd need the Adventurers Armory source book for access to that.
Otherwise, its like 10k gold for the ioun stone to grant a martial weapon proficiency.
Might be other ways, not sure.

![]() |

I do have that book somewhere. I remember that trait, I used it for a kitsune wizard I made to use a sansketukon.
Do I really need a Skill Focus in instruments though?

![]() |

I am thinking of getting rid of the Extra performance feat and getting the glaive proficiency. I do get more rounds per level, though 6 extra might be good. I can take the Deific obediance feat at 3rd level so that I can get the benefit of the +4 to perform checks.

![]() |

Does the heirloom proficieny allow the weapon to be enchanted later?

![]() |

How would that be noted on a the chronicle?

![]() |

So the cost would be 300+ price of the glaive?

![]() |

That might be a way to do it without a major change to the character.

![]() |

Nella, would you be willing to cast that spell for me when I level?

![]() |

Something like this, lol
