We are camping now! Let's do this!

I should meantion that Iisac doesn't evangelize, even if the other faiths based on the same family might.

Roshan, was there an implication in the last sentance of your most recent post/would you care to elaborate a little. for some reason it seemed important.

F Templar Lvl 6.02   dmg:D8 HP:25/25 A:2   Wrath:+3 ~ STR:+3 ~ CON:+2 ~ DEX:+1 ~ WIS:+1 ~ INT:0 ~ CHA-1   WANTED

Women with their hair down in white nightclothes in the dark are creepy. Lots of old folktales start there and end with dead people. It was just an observation I made after the fact.

oh, okay, a rusalka type thing (okay, so maybe still too much sapkowski)

okay, after these scenes are over, I'm time-skipping forward to the next morning.

HP: 22/22 | Gambit 0 | Def 0 | GG: 619 (+4026 infernal) | Aggressive 7.11 BM (6.0 Wiz -0 ongoing) | AC 4 | 1d8 | S 1 | D 3 | C 0 | I 3 | W 0 | CH 0 | Spells: Light, Prestidig., US, Shadow Walk

I plan on pushing the scene with Roshan forward but I've been swamped. We can do it in flashbacks.

Male Human Cleric 6 26/26 HP | 14 XP | Bless, Sanctuary, Speak With Dead | -2 cast a spell, 2 hold (spend 2 to make camp, 5 to escape labyrinth), blessed

Did we find the sheath?

Female Dwarf Channeler 8 (23/28 hp, 1 armor, d4 damage, 2/15 xp) (Str -1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +2, Wis +1, Cha +0)

Tom - yes, it was in the crystal-men's camp.

I think Roshan and I are done, so I'm ready to move on.

Male Human Cleric 6 26/26 HP | 14 XP | Bless, Sanctuary, Speak With Dead | -2 cast a spell, 2 hold (spend 2 to make camp, 5 to escape labyrinth), blessed

I see that now. If anyone doesn't want it I wouldn't mind a new and dangerous sword instead of this saber that gets me a bonus to attacks from a horse...

Belym will give you a distinct look, but hands the sword and scabbard over.

Nothing like an outstanding 6- to make you refresh the forum page more than is perhaps strictly reasonable! :P

Also, Conwall, welcome to the whiffing-in-a-boss-fight club!

So ... my original plan was to try to save up 4 gambits in this fight. Maybe I'd be better off saving us from the 6- train.

You can mark gambit for Conwall and Tom, they both got attacked, even if they didn't take damage.

personally, I am enjoying this 6- train, it lets me try out fun moves. also, this is another "not pulling punches" fight

I'll try not to die this time. Maybe there's a way to gambit Roshan some +2 / +3 armor? Like the whole bullet proof vest trope. -or snag a shield from the shieldmaiden later when things get desperate. She can handle heavy armor now.

Conwall

I may have forgotten about your owl...

please, feel free to introduce him (Her? it?) at any time, you don't have to wait on me introducing it

Sorry for the silence - day job decided I should put in a few 16 hour days. Should hopefully be back in another day or two.

it's okay, holiday/finals season,I expected things to slow down. also, that sounds unpleasant, my sympathies.

Conwall, I had the same thought when she first showed up :p The Godslayer was introduced in Tom's vision here.

Yes. it was intentional misdirection on my part. though, if we want to get technical, the first mention of her is from two weeks earlier. I've been planning this confrontation for a while.

F Templar Lvl 6.02   dmg:D8 HP:25/25 A:2   Wrath:+3 ~ STR:+3 ~ CON:+2 ~ DEX:+1 ~ WIS:+1 ~ INT:0 ~ CHA-1   WANTED

*licks fingers* Okay, Tom. You can have her. I've done my damage.

I think I'm calling her Petra... our pet rock...

I don't really know how this soul stone thing works or what it does, but we can talk to it, yeah? I don't think Roshan would understand it to be something consumable, like a spell component, so I'm just going to pretend that's out of the question.

Female Dwarf Channeler 8 (23/28 hp, 1 armor, d4 damage, 2/15 xp) (Str -1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +2, Wis +1, Cha +0)

As I was starting that last post, it occurred to me that the Dwarves probably don't want any surfacers to even know the golems exist. "Our mining techniques occasionally unearth unstoppable killing machines" is the kind of info that might make the neighbors a little less neighborly. So the official story is the Undercanal, which connected this continent to the Dwarven home, collapsed in a massive quake. In reality, it's golem territory now.

Still here. A lack of time/motivation is lining up with a time Roshan is busy doing gross stuff so the posts just aren't going up.

I'm sorry. I figure once Ron responds o Thadds, we'll be back on the road.

so, a few of my games have recently died, and I have decided I am able to run a second DW game. the tone will likely be like this one, and it will probably be set in a similar world. you guys have always been a pleasure to play with, and so I thought I would see if any of you were interested?

it can be found here

Well I submitted a character for it. I could use another game like this one, so here's hoping.

Roshan's current gear?

Still around, but I've been having trouble getting the boards to load the past few days. For now, waiting to see what Roshan learns from the cultist.

Should we have an out of character planning sesh for a moment?

We know:

1) The bronze wall is magical and will be difficult to cross. I think we are probably stuck with a ramp or climbing over. Unless anyone can think of a way to teleport, fly, go under, or bring down a magically reinforced wall.
2) Some of the demons remain loyal to Ishvar. Ishvar still travels with us, and perhaps we could use him to create a division in her ranks.
3) She is vulnerable to divine ore and is only resistant to magic. I can hit her with spells with Larune's help, but should probably take a one hour break to prepare magic missile again. I'm not sure if Belym's abilities would qualify. Can Tom cast direct damage spells? Perhaps magic weapon could make Roshan, Tom, and Conwall more effective.
4) We have Roshan's divine ore dart gun, a large chunk of divine ore (enough for a longsword), two smaller chunks (enough for a dagger), and at least one Astral Ruby. Any thoughts on weaponizing these? I seriously have a pillowcase from the last inn which I grabbed with the thought of making a slock filled with the divine ore. That should be a last resort, although I'd love to see Conwall racing into battle with a Slock.
5) She can apparently read our minds, but greatly undervalues our abilities and overvalues the abilities of her allies.
6) She is trying to turn us back by threatening the nearby town.

Any other useful bits of information that I missed?

Male Human Cleric 6 26/26 HP | 14 XP | Bless, Sanctuary, Speak With Dead | -2 cast a spell, 2 hold (spend 2 to make camp, 5 to escape labyrinth), blessed

3) I don't have any direct damage spells outside of magic weapon, which should help with any mundane weapons we need to deal damage. My bread and butter is absolutely Bless to give bonuses to rolls. Roshan has a magic weapon, and so does Conwall and Ron - but I just have my dangerous sword which doesn't seem truly magical just strange.

4) I'd like to use the astral ruby to imprison Einora as she dies. It gives us bonuses getting her to work for us, and makes sure she doesn't come back again.

7) I have my quest GPS targeting the divine shield that Jeslei revealed she had. It is somewhere in the keep and can be a difference maker if we get our hands on it.

Wait, when did your quest change. you slew he Godslayer, that is certain, but I don't remember you making the move again. have I just forgotten?

Female Dwarf Channeler 8 (23/28 hp, 1 armor, d4 damage, 2/15 xp) (Str -1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +2, Wis +1, Cha +0)

1) Belym has the Teleport tag; thus far it's been limited to "moving really fast", but there's several options there. (I was contemplating going for a purple-worm-ish Teleport-tagged summon, which could swallow a PC, burrow under the wall, and disgorge on the far side.) A flying summon (stone roc?) Could potentially also carry someone over the wall. Volsung, thoughts on those?

2) sounds like a good idea.

3) I'd expect Belym's powers to qualify - my impression when we found the headband was that it could've also affected Remorse's spells if Ron wrote it.

4) I think we also have two large chunks from the serpent behemoth. I don't think we've found a way to use ore to fuel magic - Belym tried to do so with a summon once, and immediately rolled a 6- :p And Volsung established that actually working it requires Ritual-eqsue prereqs. So, I think the options there are Spout Lore on magical uses, or bludgeon her with Raw Divine Ore (hand, awkward, divine)

For the rubies, the move implies a demonic agreement to use them, so Belym would vehemently oppose that.

8) She has one of Kelos' altars, which won't directly hurt her if destroyed but would apparently anger/frustrate her even so.

Go with haste, Conwall, Tom says speaking his blessing over him before he heads to strike the band.

It's my fault. I needed to check up on it but we got into a fight and I didn't make sure to get my drawbacks.

3) Not sure if holy is the same as magical.
4) The divine ore came in specific shapes. (needles, hemispheres, and I think a lump?) The lump may work as a hammer (cut stick, shove rock, bind with sinew). The needles are already a blow-dart set. I can't picture what to make of the hemispheres.

9) There's totally a spy. My money is on either Larune or Tom's imaginary friend. Roshan and Cassandra are gonna commence interrogations if we actually camp again.

I didn't have an update and just didn't think about it.

I do need the restrictions placed on me for my quest.

I think Piety seems appropriate, if only to see how a Calloused Hand sanctifies the fortress of an evil goddess.

I seem to enjoy showing disparities in personal growth...

Eleth is mourning her sister and can't deal with Roshan's stoicism. Francis is powering through his injuries out of spite for Danse, and putting off any feelings he can't resolve immediately. Roshan, however, doesn't understand her feelings, and is just trying to restablish the hallmarks of stability she knows.

I think Counter-Attack as written really doesn't work well in PbtA. I've come up with a workaround using Defend hold, but generally since all monster moves come at the expense of a failed PC roll, there is no real way to trigger it, other than by intentionally giving the MC a golden opportunity.

It is just odd.
