If you step forward to use your recalled Color Spray, You'll be within easy reach for Ed to sing you a band aid song.
:)
My thoughts, exactly...
Something like "Blind, oh, blind the furious mob that is trying to lynch us..." ;D
Ragadolf
I was thinking similar, along the lines of 'Sneak, sneak past the angry mob. Don't notice us because we're sneak, sneaking past!'
:)
I have the feeling that this was one of those scenes that were written in the AP that is very hard, if not impossible, to avoid. (A couple of Nat 20's might have done it, but with the way our dice have been lately? Not so much. ) :/
I was hoping for slightly better result from the Color Spray, however.
Ah well, the best laid plans of mice and mages,... ;P

I don't think less of Leik in the slightest and have massive respect for the excellent RP that Leiks player is doing. He would feel a MOUNTAIN of resentment and not the slightest cultural need to hold back - insects fight to the death as a rule of thumb.
That said, I think our insectoid friend just offed one of the mob.
Not sure how thats going impact things for us. Do we get the hell out of town? Take secret sanctuary somewhere until the trial?
Leik Fire
Yeah, pretty sure he died. But, it was a bar-room-esque mob, and hopefully my defense attorney survives this fight! Also, there's no rule to "uncharge" daggers with psychic strike, and that much damage would be damn-near-if-not kill a commoner as nonlethal (not to mention Leik was trying to not draw attention to himself, got backed into a corner, and assaulted. Even chose grease over his favorite fire (that guy should have to make a save not to drop his weapon now that i think about it)
Seeing how this town treats those different than their own, on top of being personally attacked (plus the whole intro story about his kind being used as experiments around these parts).... Leik has no problem killing them.

2 people marked this as a favorite.
LOL,
Yep, given the particular AP we are in, that probably is true! :)
(Now visualizing the scene in Young Frankenstein where he is caught corpse-robbing, but with Edwin in the place of Young Dr Frank-en-Stein)
"No, no no, There is NO untoward activities of any kind here. Just out for a stroll. In the dark. With a few friends. And a bug-man. And a wagon. Nothing unusual at all. Why do you ask?"
Ragadolf
Lol,
I have a friend that ,... WAY back in the day (1st or 2nd Ed) had a wizard that insisted on picking up every unclaimed magic weapon the group found and using them in combat. Negative modifiers for using a unfamiliar weapons and all. He missed as often as he hit, but when he hit it was always so good that he kept doing it again the NEXT battle! :)

Just FYI, I'm in Tech/Performance week for the opera. So if I vanish I'm not ignoring you.
I will have been kidnapped by aliens from the planet 'Moron'. :(
Seriously, I don't know who I wanted to slap more last night. The students who didn't know how to do their jobs, (frustrating, but understandable) Or one of the teachers. :/

We should decide what to do with Ant´s gear once we hand him to the watch. We have:
potion of cure moderate wounds, potion of invisibility, tanglefoot bag; +1 studded leather, +1 rapier, masterwork light crossbow with 20 bolts, cloak of resistance +1, thieves' tools, 489 gp
I already have a cloak of resistance +1, but one of you guys could find it of use... On the other hand, we could just give it all to the watch, although with N´Kai´s NG alignment he´d probably suggest putting the equipment to good use against the party´s future foes.
Oh, and if someone want to call dibs on Miley Cirus´ hand, please be my guest... ;D
Aethorduil Faelaiien
Its for the common good... of us... that he had no equipment. Just this club here - you know half orc, thugs to a 'man'.
No, this shinny stuff over here? Thats our stuff.
Ragadolf
I concur. :)
Especially since it appears that two members of the Watch (?) are watching all of this go down without lifting a finger to help or stop the bloodshed. On either side.
Edwin, (Meaning me!) Is beginning to see a dark pattern here. He smells Conspiracy.
Ah who am I kidding? He ALWAYS smells Conspiracy. (Yes, with a capital 'C') :)
I am however, writing a couple of lil' speals for our talk with the 'Watch' over there. :D

I agree. I feel Edwin would appreciate the +1 studded leather or even the rapier. And Aethor or others could really use the +1 cloak. Potions are useful for everyone...

Leik Fire wrote:if we are level 6 (i havent counted yet), are you alright with Leik taking a level in Pyrokineticist?Have you burned a structure down "just to watch it burn?"
If he hasn't until now, I am getting a feeling that he soon will ;D
Leik Fire
Well I did give it a pretty good try, stealthily kicking a burning log from one building to another to try to spread the fire to more structures. That is, until someone in the party, without even making a perception check to oppose my very high stealth, acted upon what they should not have seen and stopped me.
I'd also like to point that I've been acting more chaotic lately in preparation for it.
I mean, it would be very easy to sneak off tonight or any other night and burn down tons of buildings. Chaotic too. But I figure it'd detract from the story.
Aethorduil Faelaiien
This is not going to end well... That said, having prepped this for my upcoming home game? You may well have something REALLY special to set fire to in your future and leave it at that.
Aethorduil Faelaiien
Now me? I have to kill someone to well, kill someone... except, you know, for money.
I was worried about my alignment turning to evil in this group earlier - now I see its just a matter of time.
I can't take Rogue levels as the Slayer is a Rogue/Ranger Base class combo so assassin makes sense if I want to walk this path of skill monkey with the deadly skills.
Level 7 and 'Deadly Aim' and my journey to the darkside of 'archer-dom' will be complete.
Then again, there is the Magus too...
Oooooh look!Something Shiny!

Donald Sutherland shows the way.
Love that movie! May have to watch it again soon...

Level 6 - joy. Better will save, imp precise shot and an extra sneak attack dice.
For me it means an extra mirror image and the empowered spell magus arcana (swift=empowered shocking grasp, what´s not to love??)
Ragadolf
Ed will be happy if he (meaning me) can figure out something useful to do in combat besides trip 1 perp at a time. :/
I wasn't planning on going the archer-route with him, because it didn't really fit the original concept. Hm, perhaps I can take a feat that makes him more deadly with his one attack? (whip or sword) To play up the 'Sherlock-I-see-your-weaknesses' approach?
Meh, I'll go looking eventually. Right now there is RL work to do.
Laters! :)
Ragadolf
<Arm twist> Ow! Stop! I'll take them!
But only because you insisted! :)
I have a clarification question on the street scene.
Did we, or did we not, see 2 fellows that looked like the City Watch standing there just watching the party-goers try to clean our clocks?
If so, I would really like to know what they were doing. Were they just our for a night of entertainment watching drunks brawl? OR were they the ones that set said party of roughnecks upon us?
Or did I just misunderstand a post from 4-5 pages ago? And there are only the usual late-night revelers on the scene? :/

I thought they were probably house guards of some rich merchant, or the like. Not actual city guards as such.
On a side note, I (and Alinya, but mostly me) would be alarmed if the party veered off towards a very chaotic or evil direction. I know we're in a darkish noire-ish AP, but we're still the heroes I hope.
