not something Leik would say IC, but we should check records perhaps around the times that those super old coins were in circulation.
bonus points if you can use anything you discovered about the vampire linked to those coins to pinpoint an even smaller chunk of local records.

Any spell we could use on the skin to find out who does it belong to? I already made knowledge checks (altough Aid Another actions are always welcomed ;D )
I was aiming for blood biography, but a) there's no blood and b) we know it was a flesh golem. One day I'll get my blood writing on the wall... One day.

Hey All!
Been busy, (read = 'been busy spending all my money to fix too much food for everyone to not finish so I have to fit it in the fridge') ;P
But got some decent family time.
I'll catch up tomorrow,
Happy Thanksgiving to all! and to all a good night!
Cuz I'm going to bed and sleep off this food coma!
:)

Am I being to insistent on the "let´s head to the docks" thing?? Maybe we should just forget about it and either use some spell to track the owner or forget about it altogether and focus on finding evidence to free the Beast...
By the way, when is the trial starting? Did you guys find any proof that supports the Beast´s innocence?
| Larissa Brightfoot |
We found evidence that he was not responsible for the other crimes, yeah. We've dealt with at least two of the perpetrators - we were judge, jury, and executioner, so the crowd will get no satisfaction from them.
I am not against following the knife to the docks. Larissa is just not feeling very intellectual right now - point her at something to shred and she will go to town. Until then, she's mostly listening and waiting for the doing.
| Ragadolf |
Heading to the docks is certainly an option. Although I despair of finding a sailor or dockhand who will admit to losing a knife that he probably already realizes was lost during a major burglary. ;P
Still, it IS a possibility. We have certainly followed less obvious clues during this part of the adventure. :)
So, Ed wants to find the owner of the burned down theater, hoping that person is either the one who has the coins, or will lead us to them. What/who else were we going to look up in the records? I've forgotten. ;P
SOmething about researching who had the most to gain from teh beast's rampages? (That WAS before we discovered the missing seasage effigy, and it's possible occult use!) ;P

No, not too insistent at all. We need lots of ideas, because this is hard.

Idea,
Time wise (strictly by the rules) we could only make one or two, but once Alinya scribes the scroll into her book, she can make MORE scrolls. If she makes copies, then Ed can cast the spell as well, and we can split up, making finding the bad guy faster. We hope.
I just think we should probably be together when we DO find him, as OOC I'm pretty sure this is the climatic battle before the big courtroom scene.

Leik could burn the courtroom, to get us a 1-day delay.
Ahh, fire, you can always rely on it to solve most of your problems...
Let´s hope we don´t need to resort to underhand tactics, but they are always a possibility ;DWhile Edwin updates the attorney and Larissa inscribes and prepares the spell, some of us could do some questioning around the docks, just to cover all angles. After that, we´ll be back in time to sweep the city with the locate object spell and make sure we don´t miss the battle when the thief is found!!
I could venture there on my own, but N´Kai kinda sucks in the Diplomacy/Intimidation department...

Heh,
I know that 'Rules as Written' only allows you to scribe 1 scroll /day.
BUT,... I have always imagined that you could scribe more, if they are low-lvl.
Basically, I have always interpreted the 'XGP per day of progess on a magic item' (I think it is 1000gp/day of progress? I have to go check) as 'if it costs less than this, you can work on more things till you reach 1000gp'
But that would be up to our WONDERFUL, KIND, AND GENEROUS DM
:)

Yeah I agree that's the natural reading, and how it makes sense to me.
The bigger thing is that scribing the scroll takes a spell slot, so Alinya would have to
- learn the spell tonight
- rest
- scribe up to 6 copies tomorrow, burning all her level 2 and most of her level 3 slots
- rest
- prepare the spell, hand out the scrolls and get searching
Not necessarily a problem, just a consideration for timing.
Also, I've just realised that we don't even know if the idol is still in the city. Could be anywhere in half of Ustalav by now :/

True, but since most AP's aren't written with 'chase the stolen item halfway across the continent", (chasing the BAD GUYS is of course something completely different) And that all of the Beast attacks' were localized, that the BBEG for this particular scenario is still around.
Probably using the idol to do something very naughty and not-nice.

Yes, and let´s hope they didn´t place it inside a box with lead lining... :(

scribing scrolls
Sweet! I didn't realise the feat over-ruled the basic rules in the magic item creation section. Every day's a school day.
