Hello all, I wanted to let everyone know. I will do my best to keep active, but right now is the time of year things are very difficult for my family.
this is the time My wife lost her brother and her mother. and many may know we are battling alcoholism. this time of year is the most difficult in coping.
we have made some positive step but the journey is so long I wonder if we can ever make it back to a normal life.
any way those of you that pray please keep us in your prayers, I need all the help I can to make it through Thanksgiving.
the next big hurdle will be January with the doldrums of winter with Christmas being over. I only hope we can make it clean and sober through the holidays.
If it matters at all, I have been clean for about 6 months now. my wife has been struggling to make her first 30 days. which will be on the 29th of this month.

Any issue if I keep him as a Wordcaster? I don't anticipate any problems with that, provided you agree that the Arcanist should use the sorcerer/wizard word list, which seems obvious to me.
That, I'm not sure about. With all of the abilities the Arcanist gets, I don't know how comfortable I am with it.
Well an Arcanist is designed to be a mix of Wizard and Sorcerer, equal to both; I don't anticipate an Arcanist-Wordcaster being any more unbalanced than a Wizard-Wordcaster or a Sorcerer-Wordcaster.

Aye. It's Christmas, so I hope you won't think I'm whining to ask- would you mind reconsidering that rule? A big thing about Wordcasters is that they have a much smaller spell list, and they make up for it in their flexibility in making wordspells on the fly. Limiting feats and traits to apply to complete wordspells rather than effects seems to be quite harsh and counter to my character's flexibility, particularly in comparison to non-wordcasters.
But then you're allowing me a complete re-build and I understand if you don't want a high-power level game, so up to you. Just thought I'd ask.
Huh; interesting. Arcanists use Intelligence as their base stat, with Charisma as a secondary stat for their extra abilities. I kind of like that.
But, it's really not consistent with Doran's character. GM, would you permit me to swap the Arcanist's primary and secondary stats? IE to have Doran's primary casting stat be Charisma, and his secondary stat for abilities be Intelligence? Purely for fluff and flavor reasons, not expecting any unfair advantage or gamebreaking-ness stemming from it.
GM, Arcanists get Arcane Exploits every two levels, similar to an Alchemist's Discoveries and a Witch's Hexes. Would you mind homebrewing an Extra Exploit feat, as per Extra Discovery and Extra Hex? Happy to apply any 'can only take once per X levels' limitations you require.

I apologize for not updating the gameplay over the weekend. I was getting the hells kicked out of me by sickness. Seriously, I mean knocked to the ground, and kicked repeatidly by spiked plate boots.
Gm, is any particular type of energy damage going to be specially efficacious versus this obstacle?
It's a wooden palisade, so fire or acid would work best I think.
