Dunia nods, her gaze lingering on the spiders covering the effigy.

"Agreed, this place grows ever more unsettling."
Sajna leaves the alter and returns to the path, ready to head over to the festival grounds and whatever dark revelations await. A slow dread is creeping over her.

Yoshi tags along behind, looking over his shoulder one final time at the stone circle as he leaves.

Darvan and Sahba also follow the others; he doesn't have much to say about the matter, but he does know that if such mockery were perpetrated against Sarenrae, he would take serious issue with it.

We should be wary, as sheep among wolves. We do not know the threat or who might bring it. We should trust few if any in this town advises the warpriest.

The Festival is here. You hear a voice and see It has games here
You all here a voice on speaker phone or whatever they had in those days.
over here you have Dreamer's Leap, jump over fire and try not get burned. Over there we have Falling Star. Throw starknives at bales of hay, you get six knives, most number of sticks wins, you an participate in the long range or short range. Over this way we have the Raven fights, if you have a Raven enter it, or you can watch. And then we have the three-legged race, cooperate with your partner to win while the third leg is in the sack. And last but not least we have the greased pig, which will be on later today, can you catch a grease pig?

The festival is filled with free food and games. The free food is given only at the Founder's Feast. You might not need those trail rations after all, you'll have a better meal if you'd like

Yoshi is more than happy to join in the festival.

"Fire jumping is sounding very exciting." says Yoshi. He'll hold off having any festival food until after competing though.

Well, some of de events seem Desnan an' not so much about de human sacrifice an' effigies. Dunia scowls, I s'pose we should be makin' nice.

"Perhaps it would be a good idea to join in some events. These people don't seem to like outsiders much but maybe if they believe we are simply here to join in the festivities we will find them to be more welcoming."
Sajna wanders over to the Falling Star event.
"Where do I sign up?"

Darvan makes his way to the greased pig event, keeping Sahba close.

Dunia doesn't look thrilled with the spread of events, but will join Yoshi at fire jumping.

Are there any events or shows with sheep? He is a shepherd by training.

"oh, goodness so many fun games. How to choose, the knife throwing sounds like fun. I'm good with my bow, who knows maybe I can throw a knife. Though I would love to see you jump fire." Uthraed says to Yoshi.

Uthraed will follow Yoshi to the fire jumping and if there is time he wants to check out the knife throwing.

Eli goes to the farm petting zoo, which has sheep, goats, chickens and calves.
Those of you doing the throwing contest, we have range increment 1, range increment 2 and range increment 3. Give me six attacks against the hay all at the same range increment of you choice. Most of you aren't proficient with star knives so keep that in mind. The hay's Ac is 12.
Yoshi and Dunia, you sure you want to jump the fire? I need an acrobatics check of 12 if you are serious otherwise you could take 1 or even worse 1d6 fire damage if you fail worse.

Dunia eyes the jump speculatively, then casually leaps over the flames without bothering to take off her breastplate.

Take-10 on Acrobatics will hit a 12 for her in armor

Are these range increments 10, 20, and 30?

Edit: or 20,40,60 just realized star knives have a range of 20

1st range increment of the star knives ie 20, 2nd one is 40, etc.
The crowd cheers Dunia on Yeah! And you see many many people make it over the fire with no problem, others make it over but catch their legs on fire for a second. Nobody gets seriously burned though Most fail by less than 5 so they only take at most 1 damage, the rest just succeed, nobody fails badly to be clear.
Yoshi is standing around watching. The crowd cheers him on. Yoshi, Yoshi! They all get excited expecting you to jump.

Darvan, it will be two hours before the greased pig event starts, it's not scheduled yet.

Sajna collects the set of knives given to her and flips one over in her hands. It had been some time, but she remembered roughly how one was thrown. Sajna has martial weapon proficiency, which covers starknives.
Sajna aims for the closest target, not wanting to push her luck with the tricky weapon.

Starknife 1st Throw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Starknife 2nd Throw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Starknife 3rd Throw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Starknife 4th Throw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Starknife 5th Throw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Starknife 6th Throw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Her first throw falls short of the target. She forgot how awkward these knives could be. Adjusting her aim the rest of her throws strike true.

Uthraed steps up to the range and debates which targets he should aim at. He chooses the medium targets, takes aim, and begins throwing at a slow but steady pace. Only slightly pausing between throws to make minor adjustments.

As Sajna makes five out of six hits on the hay, the crowd cheers wildly, Yay. You hear whistling and clapping. You hear someone else say You hold the record for today, others today got 2! You watch about two and a half dozen people attempt this event, most got none, some are lucky to get 1 or 2 in the round. Some people attempt this game multiple times, and noone can seem to beat two. When they go out the Medium distances only about four people get one hit out of thirty people attempting, and then when you see the long distances only two people gets one hit out of thirty people. Hey a crit always hits, no matter how badly you suck, thus the 1 hit for 2 people long distance.

After seeing many people suck, they see Galt make five hits out of six with the medium distance. The crowd goes wild. Galt, Galt, Galt as they all clap. More whistling than Sajna.

Yoshi removes his armour, displaying his manly bare chest as he prepares his run up for the fire jump.

The mud is soft just as he leaps and the man from Tien takes off poorly. However his natural athleticism carries the day. He lands just on the other side of the fire, catches his balance for a moment, and then walks onward.

"Is there being a round two?"

Sajna doesn't let the cheering get to her head too much. She smiles and nods towards the crowd.
"Fine throws, I doubt even I could have landed so many hits at that range!" She congratulates Galt. She's not jealous of his louder cheers, just happy to have had some time and the opportunity to practice with a more unusual weapon.

With her event completed, she has a look around to see what food is on offer.

Being wary of the generally unwelcoming attitude of the villagers so far, and suspicious of foreign cuisine in general, Sajna will be very careful when selecting a meal.
Approaching a vendor, she tries to get a feel for their attitude toward her.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
If she can get a view of the food being prepared, she keeps an eye out for anything unsavory being added to her meal.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Finally, after receiving her dish, she carefully inspects the food for any obvious poisons that may have been added to it.
Craft (Alchemy): Take 10 + 4 ⇒ 14

If she can't find anything vegetarian on offer, or if she suspects any foul play, she will just eat some of the rations she brought with her.

The warpriest will stay with the sheep and goats, the familiarity with them is welcome. He will see to make sure that they are healthy and taken care of.

At Sajna, I goofed like I said, no food, except for at the Festival Feast with the Mayor which happens later tonight, and the whole town is invited, it is part of the founders festival.

They all clap for Yoshi.
Then the guy who you all fought earlier (one of the men you recognize not the brother), you challenges you to a jump off. Yo, Yoshi, I don't like how you embarrassed us earlier. I challenge you to a jump off. You on one side, me on another, we jump across the fire immediately upon one of us making it across. The first one that needs stabilized is the loser. You can't take 10 if you accept his challenge, and you will roll three straight acrobatics checks and so will he, the loser is the one that has to be stabilized or healed. All the towns folk are like what is he talking about, because none saw that fight. The Mayor is seeing this. It's okay Yoshi, teach him a lesson, since he can't fight you, he will fail in other ways, but if you don't I understand. Many are cheering Yoshi on, others are telling you to walk away and be the bigger man. You can accept his challenge or decline and walk away. You won't get anything special for winning and nothing bad will happen for declining other than the man booing you and maybe some of the crowd.

Yoshi, always one up for a challenge nods.

"I am accepting. But I would like the pit to be made longer!"

He points to the end and recommends another three foot is added.

But I'll do the jump now, as that won't change whether or not they agree to make the fire longer.

Sorry, I got confused when you said there was free food, I didn't see that it was only later. Just take those actions as what Sajna will do when the food is eventually available. In the mean time she will watch some of the others competing.

Uthraed beams with pride at his ability to throw the star knives with such accuracy. He takes a small bow when he is done and heads over to the fire jumping pit to add his cheers to the crowd rooting for Yoshi.

The crowd says We can't make the pit longer, the fire will only go so high and it area is only so long, the fire has to stay inside the circle.

The after three rounds. Well congrats, none of us got burned, so maybe we are just too good And he goes home after giving you a handshake for a job well done. The crowd claps for the both of you as the contest ends.

One last call for games, then I move onto the Greased Pig event where you catch a greased pig (every PC will participate in the greased pig), then the Festival Feast

Yoshi looks worriedly at the pig. "Pigs are big, big creatures. Hard to catch even if not greased..."

Dunia appears suspicious, like she's expecting to find out she's the butt of a joke, I hope you ain' countin' on me goin' all out fo' dis. I ain' makin' myself a fool.

Ladies and Gentlemen get ready for the main event. The Greased Pig! They put the pig behind a rope, as the heroes line up behind a line themselves. Now when I release the pig, you all run after it and try to catch it, thing is fast. No rules, you can corner it, slow it down with magic, just try not to hurt it. Perception checks from everyone.

Some of you notice that the pig seems sick or drugged as it is stumbling as it walks, and it is not very easy for a simple commoner to tell that. Out of the hundreds of people watching, only a small handful might be able to tell, assuming anyone knows it at all. Knowledge nature or heal check if you want to know more, though you can do so without being near it. You can do other things as well

Dunia peers suspiciously at the pig, Why the hell would they drug a pig before chasing it around?

Dunia knows it is definitely drugged, probably poisoned and in severe state. Something might happen to the pig.

Dis ain' no kinda... fair pig wrestlin'... Dunia trails off, realizing she doesn't know how to register any kind of greased pig complaints, and turns to the other pathfinders.

Sumpin' wrong wit' de pig. Be careful.

"The poor thing!" Sajna cries out. "What have they done to it?"
Sajna hangs back. Not too interested in catching the pig and possibly hurting it further, but unsure of how to help the suffering animal.

"If the pig is being sick, you should be saying so" admonishes Yoshi who knows nothing about the well being of pigs.

People overhear the heroes saying something about the pig being sick or poisoned. The people in charge takes a look. Oh, they are right! They say loudly. Then as the person goes to investigate the pig, this is his pet, the pig transforms, it starts to grow man eating plants on its back. The pig grows extra legs. It is an outsider, so knowledge planes will tell you more. The pig's plant bites its owner's hand and the pig itself bites the owner's leg, the man pulls and runs away. The rest of the crowd flee the scene in Terror.

The pig is 20 feet from the heroes north. Every square has a 20% chance for difficult terrain due to tents, mud and panicking crowd. Just roll xd100 where x is the number of square you move, 20 and under is bad.
