Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
"Excellent, we shall pick away at their numbers. Come fourth from the beyond, even stronger than before," the wizard raises his hands to the sky and makes a great, albeit unnecessary, show of summoning a monster.
DireMerc |
You manages to quickly take down the two closest hobgoblins before they can react to your presence.
The remaining two quickly draw their weapons and turn to face you.
You hear laughing and an large bear like individual (a bugbear) comes lumbering out of one of the cabins. "Well I'll be. Scarvinious was right. The fire did draw out some roaches after all." he swings spinning a massive flail with ease.
init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
So everyone with a result higher than 11 can act again now and then enemies will go. I will try to get a map up asap for you guys. I am not working tomorrow so I will have plenty of time.
Betto Calvus |
I missed that I hadn't rolled initiative, fixing that now.
Betto Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Betto charges the Bugbear, heedless of danger to himself.
Charge: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Critical Confirm?: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8
Betto's AC is down to 17 until Betto's next turn.
Izithrael Xar |
Izit's mask burns a brilliant orange, like the blazing leaves of an autumn maple, an effect mirrored by the large flail the bugbear wields.
Using bonded mask to cast Burning Disarm on the flail. He may make a DC 15 Reflex save to drop it and take no damage, or else he takes 2d4 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5 fire damage.

lumbermill map
I know the grid isn't very visible and the characters don't line up every well with the lines (it's because the picture was very small and i had to stretch it so you can see) but it's more to give you a good idea of positions. There is enough room there for more people to move up into melee if you want I will try to fix up the map a bit for the next round
Betto charges and punches the Buggear who grins "Not bad for a human" he says.
When Izith tries to disarm he roars as much in pain as anger but holds on tight and swings at Betto but he can put much power in his swing.
attack Heavy flail: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 221d10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

The other steps up drawing his blade and swings at Betto.
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 231d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Your go.
Betto Calvus |
A week ago, Betto would have taken a beating like that and just gone down.
A week ago, Betto wasn't fighting for his life. Or his home.
Bleeding from several places, Betto grins at the bugbear.
"You hit like a sparrow!"
He sidesteps, trying to circle around the bugbear, and then lashes out again.
5 ft step northeast, to directly north of the bugbear. Move: Martial flexibility for dedicated adversary (hobgoblin), standard action: attack. AC back to 19 vs goblinoids.
Right Hook: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12
Izithrael Xar |
"Eeek!" Izit squeals as the crossbow bolt strikes him square in the leg. He moves east to get closer to Betto but remain outside the hob's reach. Hobbling as he goes, his hands flash a verdant green with a healing spell.
clw on self: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Filon Cen |
Filon drinks his Dexterity Mutagen, causing his skin to thicken and reflexes to alchemically quicken. He then moves down to take cover behind the logs, moving just out of sight for the time being.
Moving north of the log pile, right up against it but 5-10 feet from the right side, depending. The goal is to gain cover from as many as possible. He calls out to the Goblins from behind the woodpile.
Stats adjusted for the Mutagen
Filon calls out from behind the woodpile.
"Dab tsi tsw zoo tshaj qhov goblin tuag? Ib tug nyob!"
Maybe I should have taunted them and then hid. He had forgotten how a mutagen designed for quickness dulled ones common sense.
Zelik |
As he finishes casting his spell a celestial eagle appears next to the bugbear and claws and pecks at its head as it screeches (smite evil).
Beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Not bothering to reload his crossbow, Radok surges forward, jumping and kicking the bugbear in the head while still maintaining a careful guard.
Combat Expertise for -1 to attack rolls but +1 to AC.

Zelik |
Zelik sends a burst of arcane energy streaking across the battle field and it slams into the enemy (bugbear if still alive)
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Betto Calvus |
Ah, I thought the hobgoblin was the last enemy. In that case, I'll use those rolls for attacking the bugbear. No charge, so no +2 to the attack, but AC still at 19 against the bugbear.
Morde Chai |
Spot moves a step closer into flanking and gives the bugbear the good old tooth claw claw pain.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 121d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Forgot to level spot. He has power attack
Claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 81d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Morde follows the hobgoblin a few feet, nocks an arrow and attacks the fleeing enemy.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 161d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Filon Cen |
Filon moves after the fleeing hobgoblin and throws a bomb.
Bomb, Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 - 2 = 13
Fire Bomb: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
-2 is for ranged increment
Zelik |
Zelik pulls out the wand of magic missile and points it at the space between the two combatants. A purple missile launches into the air and splits, one slams into the bugbear and the other slams into the fleeing hobgoblin.
bugbear: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
hobgoblin: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
I assume that because the Identification DC was 18 that this is a CL is 3,so 2.missles
Morde Chai |
With another fury of tooth and claw spot crushes the bugbears head to bloody pulp before returning to his master, a piece of flesh still in his mouth, ready to eat.
"Well, it seems they didn´t run far. Quick, let us gather what we can and need and depart again!"
DireMerc |
There is a survivor of the attack a lumberjack tied to a post who was tortured. He is unconscious at the moment.
You grab what gear you can (will give you the list a little later) and find a note.
BOUNTY! Phaendar has not been secured to our glorious general’s satisfaction, and in her name I now offer a bounty of 25 pieces of gold to any member of the Ironfang Legion who returns reliable information regarding the location of fugitive human-likes who fled Phaendar. The payment is doubled if you instead return their heads. Live captives may be claimed as slaves! All rewards are doubled for the impudent ringleaders of this band! Return all information or heads to my cur of a son, Sergeant Scarvinious. —Lieutenant Scabvistin

Morde Chai |
If we rescue his family we have more mouths to feed. And it is hard enough as it is.
Quickly working with some long poles Morde makes a makeshift towing device and puts it on Spot, so that they can tow all the supplies gathered.
DireMerc |
Having done what you can you gather what supplies you can and head back to your camp with the survivor. When you return. You notice a group of men are wounded and being tended too by Aubrin. You ask what happened and they tell you they were out hunting when they found a large boar in the woods. They shot it with an arrow but the creature went wild and attacked and was far stronger than they expected. There were six of them and one didn't make it back. The rest were force to run for their lives.
