GM_Ironcat,

Please consider Roga for inclusion your game.

His stats are in the alias; I still need to tweak equipment, etc. but it should give you a pretty good idea of where the 'mechanics' are going.

His fluff is also in the alias and spoilered below.

fluffy parts:

APPEARANCE

Roga, dark haired savage with shoulder-length mane and steel gray eyes.
Roga, large youth with hard-packed muscle on his lanky frame. Roga, tanned skin, criss-crossed with many scars.

As imposing a figure as he paints, it is his eyes that catch one’s attention. The eyes of a predator, always looking for a weak spot, always alert.

The youth is barely past 20 summers and dresses in the garb of those used to spending nights under the stars. A warhammer, meant to smash constructs, rests easily in his hands. A boomstick (pistol) is holstered at his side. A well-oiled chainshirt protects him.

BACKGROUND

Roga was barely past 14 summers when his name was whispered in the fighter’s circle. The youth had proven an able hunter and better fighter. He was taught to fear and hate all sorts of technology, especially constructs. And he learned well.

The zeal with which he smashed the metal monsters was spoken in hushed tones by much more seasoned warriors. The youth had even braved the land’s eerily glowing fluids and came away stronger for it. Roga was a chief-in-the-making living off the land in the Sellen Hills where his tribe, the Ghost Wolves roamed.

But then disaster struck. His hunting band was beseeched by several constructs. After trading blows with the abominations, it was clear that the barbarians were no match for the monstrosity unleashed. The metal arachnid picked them off one by one and dismembered them. A metal leg knocked Roga unconscious and he was sure he would die.

He didn’t.

He woke up several days later, nursed back to health by an older man, Jesper. Not a barbarian but one with vast knowledge of the land, and of constructs. But Jesper used boomsticks and other technology. And Roga saw how effective this warrior was when their camp was attacked by robots.
With his tribe now far away and his curiosity peeked, Roga asked Jesper if he could tag along with him, promising to hunt for him if Jesper would teach him his trade.

Jesper agreed; he wanted to pass on his knowledge. Together they tracked down the metal arachnid that killed Roga’s hunting party and destroyed it. Roga’s awe for the man only grew as he learned to respect but not fear technology. He was taught that most technology was just a tool, much like the warhammer he wielded. The intelligent constructs were the ones to be feared or so Jesper said. Although it didn’t look like he feared them at all.

In the months that followed Jesper taught him how to track down and kill constructs. Roga learned how to hide from them and strike at their most vulnerable spots. He also learned to craft. First he prepared metal balls and then learned to prepare the black powder with which Jesper stuffed his boomstick. It wasn’t long before Roga constructed his very own boomstick.
All the while, Jesper told the youth about amazing wonders scattered throughout the land. About strange metals, lighter but stronger than steel. About things that worked like magic but were not magic.

They wandered Numeria for a while until Jesper asked Roga to go to the town of Torch. Jesper had to go to Starfall and would catch up to the youth later. In the meantime, Roga was supposed to make contact and learn from the craftsmen that lived in Torch.

PERSONALITY

Roga is a young barbarian who just recently became acquainted with technology.

His previous views about hating and fearing technology were turned upside-down and replaced with a healthy curiosity of all things technological.
Roga has been described as stubborn and hot-headed but that could probably be said of many young Kellids.

While he certainly has the skill for fine metal work, he still lacks the patience needed to craft masterpieces, preferring to do what is right and necessary and then move on to another project, mostly related to guns at this time in his life.

Interested in how and why things work. Excellent skills with mechanical things. Risk-taker who lives for the moment. Uncomplicated in his desires. Loyal to his peers and to his internal value systems, but not overly concerned with respecting laws and rules if they get in the way of getting something done. He excels at finding solutions to practical problems.
Adaptable, action-oriented. Focused on immediate results. Living in the here-and-now, he's a risk-takers who lives fast-paced lifestyles. Impatient with long explanations.

Assertive and outspoken - he is driven to lead. Excellent ability to understand difficult organizational problems and create solid solutions. Intelligent and well-informed. He values knowledge and competence, and usually has little patience with inefficiency or disorganization.

HOOKS/NPCs

Jesper, Roga’s ‘trainer’, has left for Starfall.

The Ghost Wolves, who hate technology, are out there but believe that Roga was killed in action.

CONCEPT
Roga provides a ‘strong-arm’ and can take a hit or two while dealing good damage. Mostly a melee attacker, his ranged attack should develop nicely as well. He has good physical skills, as well perception, disable device, heal, diplomacy, gunsmithing, sense motive, stealth, and survival. Out of combat, he will tend to be fascinated by ‘civilization’ and very curious about technology (will take technologist feat when possible).
-------------------

If selected, I would like to work with you (your group?) to see how to best incorporate him in the on-going story,

Please let me know if you have any questions at this time.

Description and Personality for Toby:
“Lockjaw” is tall and gaunt, with light green skin and brown hair, kept long in a ponytail. Massive tusks jut from his mouth consistently making small cuts in his lips and cheeks. Even as he makes an effort to stay clean and tidy, his clothing is always crumped and covered with spilled liqueur and alchemical regents.
Personality: Lockjaw is an easy going sort, not given to bragging or bravado. He is not a wonderful speaker due to his tusks, and his brutal honesty and straightforward nature have earned him few solid friends. His love of brewing is only matched by his enjoyment of its consumption. Although not an alcoholic, Lockjaw tends to cut loose like few other around him, and then shrug off the effects the next day. Equally happy at home in wilds forging for ingredients or in the lab with bubbling beaker surrounding him, Lockjaw mostly goes with the flow.
Kahonnir has been a mentor and guide for Lockjaw, providing him skills and confidence he sorely lacks. Even with such backing, he still constantly seeks friendship and affirmation, handling failure poorly, but with a resolve to try, over and over and over again.
Toby does not leave his friends out in the cold, treasuring the handful he has more than air he breaths. In their defense, he becomes an engine of destruction and vengeance, nearly unstoppable in his anger.

Here is an application for Triax, a slayer.

Spoiler:

"Let me tell you about the created, the machine-born... ay, I suppose you would call them androids. They aren't like you and me; they don't feel sadness, fear, or fatigue. It's a good thing too, for they are more alone then any other thing in the universe. We know we have souls, we know something will be waiting for us when we pass beyond. What can a created thing look forward to when it dies? Certainly not its maker..."

Triax wandered out of the wastelands of numeria one winter day and into the midst of a stunned Raptor's Claw Kellid tribe. It was naked save for the fine tracery of silver tattoos covering its body, curious about its environment and eager to learn. The chief granted the creature shelter, teaching it Kelish lore and how to fight. Although incapable of love, Triax determined that a life with these humans was adequate for its continued prosperity. The gaps in Triax's memories regarding its origin and maker were non-ideal, but it determined the information to be secondary to survival. Instead, the creature learned how to fit in to its new tribe, practicing hunting, survival, and the skills of imitating its fellows mysterious "emotions".

Then the robot raids started - and Triax began to re-evaluate its position with the Raptor's Claws. Like itself, they appeared without warning. Triax decided it was ideally suited to fighting this menace, sharing many of the same skills and strengths as robots. It fought with the tribes people, hunting against the metal monsters and dodging their increasingly extensive patrols. The flow never seemed to stop, however, and the Raptor's Claws were eventually decimated and dispersed. Triax fled.

It wandered for a time, visiting Chesed and Starfall, trying to learn more of humanity. In Chesed, it found new opportunities, falling in wih criminals and putting its hard-earned combat skills to use. However, it also found new dangers - the Technic League has learned of Triax's existence, and has tried to abduct him several times. He has so far evaded the humans, but the strain of doing so has left the android wary of its allies, expecting betrayal at any moment. It continues to perfect its skills of deception and faking human emotions to keep one step ahead of its pursuers.

Most recently, Triax has wandered south to Torch. Alone again, it currently seeks new allies to assist in its survival. It is also considering pursuing further research into its mysterious origins, haveing decided that no other activities seem more critical in the moment.

Hi, I would like to submit Jonas Synd, a human sorcerer (true neutral).

Backstory, stat-block and description are in the alias profile.

The basic idea is that he has been sent to Numeria by the cult of Yog Sothoth, to find a way for the cult to ascend to the stars. His bloodline is Void-Touched. I gave him a Drawback which I tried to work into his story.

Posting a couple of times a day is generally fine (including weekends, e.g. now - most of my time is online). I'm playing an android in a Kingmaker game at the moment - so decided something different might work for IG - but the Numeria stuff is my favourite aspect of Golarion so am keen to explore it a bit more.

I'm really more into RP and writing than I am into, e.g. build optimisation, so hopefully that works with your group.

I'm normally to be found in GMT (hence the spelling ...).

Let me know if it works!

We're looking for either a divine caster or a frontline fighter, Jonas. Sorry.

Back story:

The 1st life:
They had activated her on another world an in another time, the stars in the sky did not look like the ones she looked at now. She knew that, she had been made to a single task, Unit 23 sub bay 8 maintenance. It was there that she lived and worked. Her power pod feeding her in her down time. Others worked with her, some organic some fully Mecha. She did what she was told and followed the great makers program. Work and rest cycles came and went. Then one day the Alarm, the lights flashing and much running around. An attack they said, an Emergency move, her home was in harms way. She was ordered into her pod and there placed in deep cryo. That was her last memory of that time. Then a light, an organic in odd clothing ripping the door of her pod.

The 2ed life:
She was awake, but felt very stuff, odd, things where odd in her body. They had placed her next to a pile of broken things, as they did they talked in an odd Lagrange. fearing the attackers she had acted broken. Then whole the odd organics had gone to rip more parts of the broken metal deep in a pit they had dug she had got up, looked around for her tool pack and then ran. This new bay was odd, Much bigger, over head was just the one light and it was very bright and hot. The air here was smelly to, every thing was strange. The light moved and soon was low and far away. She had walked more in one direction than she had ever done so before in her memory. Then some more organics, they where clustered around some off pods. Things made of metatarsals she had never seen before. In the dark she walked around looking for an data port to get a update of her programming from. But there was nothing here, every thing was so simple. When the light came again an organic came to her as talked in that odd language. It was female and was pointing at her tool kit. In the end it grabbed her hand and dragged the Steel Orchid into a pod. In side was a small Organic, it was still, and covered in water. The female seemed upset, so the Orchid looked at the child. Its leg was broken and there was an infection.

"This small organic will stop working if it is not fixed, please take it to the medical area."

She had said to the woman but all she did was talk more and then water leaked from her eyes.

"I could try and fix her myself, I have that capacity, I will try."

That was the day she found a new home, some seven years ago. Know she knew the name of the town, and the girls name. Alrina, and her mother Baleen. She can talk now with others and knows the ones that found her where hunters seeking sky metal. She has worked as a healer and meander of things. She had learned a lot, of men, elves, gods and country's. She knew now she looked female. Alrina had given her the name Steel Orchid, and tort her to cared about others and to like the company of organics. That she had worth, and to hate hurt and harm. Then the well dried up and the town packed up to move on. She packed as well and set off to see more of this world. Alrina now grown had said she should head out and see the bigger world, and so she did. Seeking to grown and learn.

No problem ... I think I can rebuild him as a warpriest - would that work for you?

Yep.

Hey, I think Jasper might be using the output sheet I made for PCGEN :). My apologies, I never could figure out how to get rid of all those dangling commas.

Definitely am Tangaroa lol. No worries however. Definitely beats having to type it all out.

Also, I don't know if this will matter to anyone but I'm slightly altering my character to do a switch hitting hunter. We are still going to need frontline help however as I don't want to be all by my lonesome but the ability to work with another front liner would be great!

I've proposed a front-liner. :)

I started with the intention of building a barbarian (savage technologist) but then the PC morphed into a multi-class barbarian (savage technologist)/ranger (galvanic saboteur). It just made sense for his background. I do intend to continue on the barbarian (savage technologist) path, though.

If selected, I think my PC would mesh well with your PC as he's just learning about gunsmithing and higher tech stuff.

Game on!

Jasper Finn wrote:

.

Always good to see something you made get used.

Very tangential, but you should check out Oladon's plugins for pbp They've got great add on tools for PbP.

I dropped the gun stuff actually. It just wasn't working the way I wanted it to. I'm using chakrams as my ranged weapon and a heavy flail as my melee.

Her items, Armor and weapons are done, she has 'Technologist' as a feat so if she meets tech she can have a change to try and understand it.
Its all in her background now, so fits. She is very Naive [Drawback] and has only been awake in the world for 7 years.

Jasper Finn wrote:

Even better. We won't have to fight over any 'gun loot'. :)

Seriously, why wasn't it working out? What were you expecting and not getting?

@GM_Ironcat: Feel free to tell me to shut up and take this discussion somewhere else. I'll continue as long as I don't hear otherwise.

GM_Ironcat wrote:
Yep.

OK. Here's Jonas' elder brother, Kabius, a warpriest of Yog Sothoth. The cult has sent him forth to find out what became of Jonas. If you're up for it, I think it's an interesting hook.

Backstory, etc, is in the profile.

Thanks for your consideration.

Grand Lodge

Steel Orchid, I have to ask, does your character worship a deity? I am a bit curious by it.

Hi Tabitha Flynn, thanks for asking, Its says under Iron Priest

'Iron priests preach of the messengers from beyond the stars, envoys of the divine brought by a falling star.

So the way I image her and the fact she is an Android is that she was programmed to worship the idea of a 'Great Maker'. The 'Great Maker' which made her and ones constructs with souls like her. Very much like clerics who follow the green way and other idea based faiths etc. Its a very simple faith, and why she seeks a deeper understanding of the world. Her faith may be tested, in fact she may even change faiths, who can tell. But to her how can that be any other way, for the other gods make Organics.

This idea is whys she has Knowledge and Artifice -> Construct Domains.

I hope that answers your question.

Ey! Emissary here, I'm sorry for the delay but life got in the middle.

I am still looking at the strongarm and melee brute position and I'm thinking about a barbarian that could divert attention and support the team with raw muscle and awesome strength.

I'm not too savvy around unchained barbarian and archetypes so I'll go ahead and ask the GM: Does unchained's danger sense counts as old trap sense for the purpose of archetype changing it?
I'm looking at invulnerable rager and unless it counts as trap sense I couldn't use it.

I'll try to come with a full build as soon as you answer

I'll allow it.

Grand Lodge

This is Emissary's submission: Maldrek the Bright, tiefling barbarian and "professional" adventurer.

Maldrek's Story:

Life isn't easy for certain kind of people. Being less intelligent than others, a disgusting appearance, being an outsider. Just one of those conditions and your life would be harder.

Maldrek was the three of them. Luckily for Maldrek he was, well, a lucky tiefling. Born to loving parents who cared to treat him like every parent should treat their son, they put a great deal of time teaching Maldrek about how the world would see him... and how he should ignore that and be the man he wanted.

Ragbrok and Sonya, as those are their names, taught Maldrek their ways: the ways of the Kellid people from Numeria. They inscribed in his mind a deep mistrust from anything magical and anything technological, for they both are contrarian to the true ways of the Kellid and therefore dishonorable.

Maldrek came to Torch searching for work as hired muscle to whomever trusted a good natured tiefling with a job. And looks like he hit home there...

Maldrek's Personality and Apearance:

Maldrek is a big, dumb, lovable brute. He is a lumbering mass of muscle, towering over most of the people he meet with a height of slightly more than seven feet. His grayish skin and horned head with spiked beard doesn't help with his overall dooming appearance, but he is quite proud of his protusions.

He has a knack for both animals and languages, despite his slightly impaired memory abilities. He has good sense of humour but is proud of his kellid legacy and won't stand against those kind of offenses.

His nickname "The Bright" comes from his good natured spirit and ironically because of his intelligence of lack thereof.

He isn't very religious, but pays respect to Trudd, brother of Torag, god of friendship and strength. Mostly when he is in mortal danger.

I know it isn't the best backstory ever, but Maldrek is one of those characters that I can't imagine what he did... but I'm eager to know what he will do. I hope you like it!

Thank you, everyone, for your interest in my game. :)

At this point, I'm going to declare recruitment closed. I'll post the selected applicants by midnight tomorrow.
