As you said before, I need to be able to have a feat for at least a day to qualify as a prerequisite. Martial Versatility only applies for minutes in a particular day. They disappear after a set time. So it would seem MV would not give me Shield Master. I don't think Bonus Feats magically turn on in that kind of way. If they intended for me to use MV to get Shield Master, why not give me...Improved Shield Bash at level 11?
Do note again that Brawler's Flurry IS Two Weapon Fighting. It says that while I am using unarmed strike, monk weapons and close fighter group(shield bashing is in there), I am treated as having Two Weapon Fighting. So, again, absolutely 0 reason to get the actual feat beyond qualifying for this.
I'm not saying that I should get the feat ignoring all prerequisites. Far from it. I'm talking specifically about TWF. I'm fine with getting Shield Slam, Imp Shield Bash and waiting till level 11.

Favored class: druid (+1 skill rank)

+1 Climb

+1 Perception
+1 Stealth
+1 BAB
+1 Fort, Will
Woodland stride
+1 0-level spell
+1 1st-level spell
+1 vermin empathy, concentration, fire bolt damage
Got a paper due today so I might be a while in posting in the IC thread. Assume Burnt One dumps out their pack for Ibuki and everyone else to appraise stuff in the loot sheet.
| Ibuki Surtova |
Have the book too, but yes, i wanted to know those and didn´t find them.
Found them by now though.
Charsheet updated.
Actually more spells in the spellbook than are shown right now, have to add them manualy later.
Other spells are:
-Infernal Healing
-Monkey Fish
-Obscuring Mist
-Snowball
-Sow Thought
Took the exploit to change spells with a full round action.
Arcanist exploits are really cool!
Open to spell suggestions.

I feel your pain. I have a tengu warpriest that relies on natural attacks. In order to get the feat that lets me split my Divine Weapon bonus to both claws/bite I have to take twf. Which does absolutely 0 for someone with 3 primary natural attacks.
Arcanists afre really fun. I have an elven 'enchanter' arcanist thats addicted to scroll dust (Consume Magic Item exploit) that can pump his charm and sleep DCs into the 20s and keep his arcane pool up by snorting Scroll Dust :)
Derlin Froak
|
By all means! 1 level two Scroll gets you 1 Arcane Point back. You can drain wand charges and consume level 2 + potions to regain them as well. Combined with the Arcana that lets you spend a point to up any spell's DC by 2 you can be a pretty powerful enchanter. :)
| Ibuki Surtova |
Yes i realized that.
Combined with craft wand/stave/ write scrolls thats really powerful^^
I also like some other exploits though, like dimensional slide (always cool, especially with dimensional feats), arcane weapon (very cool later with a firearm from technomancer), the familiar, even the arcane barrier or energy shield are cool-

Derlin has pretty bad saves, I'd like to throw my name into the ring for wearing it. I'm sure quite a few of us could benefit. Derlin is very vulnerable to Will Saves and I don't want to think about what could happen if I got charmed or dominated.
Not being claim'y but interested for sure, for the presented reasons. :-)
As to the swords, does Bran need an extra weapon? He may, I'm unsure.
| Yvell Endymion |
Both IC and OOC he has not used any martial weapon. So he cant really use it, but Yvell asked to be sure.
I know I dont need the Cloak, but you can rage, so that makes the lack of saves less important. In order, Bran, Valtrya, Ibuki, Derlin, Auehda and lastly Yvell.. for overall saves situation. Being dominated is something that could result in bad times from most of the characters presented.
And for Ibuki, you have 7 spells I believe right? For Arcanist anyway.
Derlin Froak
|
It'll be the first item I purchase regardless. For now lets push on. :) I'll hold one of the extra swords til we get back to town. Whoever was tracking please remember to write down everything we've found thus far, thanks! :)

Ibuki should probably get this cloak since he's playing Disable Device monkey too. Completely forgot he was our trap springer. So either him or Val for the Cloak of Resistance makes the most sense right? I had to go check numbers.
| Ibuki Surtova |
I have resistance that i can cast on myself or others.
Just think it´s unrealistic to cast it on all partymembers every other minute. Wouldn´t be doing something else^^
Also i can´t do magical traps i think. Only mechanical ones, except the GM let´s me retroactively take the seeker sorcerer archetype, which trades eschew materials vs disabling magical traps.
But actually that feat is rather good.
The Razmiran priest archetype with false casting or what it´s called is even better though. Just reflavor it as a "priest" of Brigh^^
Derlin Froak
|
Also there's a campaign trait from one of the other APs that grant's magical trap disabling as a rogue. Might be called trapspringer if memory serves.
Derlin Froak
|
Keep resistance up on yourself for sure. 3 Seconds of every Minute is all it takes to keep active. :)

Oh for sure, not trying to direct anyone's character. Just talking options since I'm awake and it was being talked about :)

| Yvell Endymion |
Hrm? For me I tend to work Nights/Not really sleep so when I get hope its like 4-5Am and as long as I have something to do I stay awake to respond. Also did Ibuki pick up Androffan? his sheet is all wonky and has all this extra stuff so it gets confusing.
| Ibuki Surtova |
What´s your problem actually?
Mind my PC?
Not sure what´s wonky there.
The GM approved of everything, it´s not a uberpower character and the sheet is herolab output, what yours is figured after.
I picked up Androffan at first level actually with linguistics.
That´s the whole point of the Technologist feat and the character concept going into Technomancer with impossible bloodline.
| Auehda, Burnt One |
I think these are the relevant bits.
Skills Bluff +7, Disable Device +7, Knowledge (arcana) +8 (+10 to identify alien monsters' abilities and weaknesses), Knowledge (dungeoneering) +8 (+10 to identify alien monsters' abilities and weaknesses), Knowledge (engineering) +11 (+13 to identify alien monsters' abilities and weaknesses), Knowledge (geography) +11 (+13 to identify alien monsters' abilities and weaknesses), Knowledge (local) +8 (+10 to identify alien monsters' abilities and weaknesses), Knowledge (nature) +8 (+10 to identify alien monsters' abilities and weaknesses), Knowledge (planes) +8 (+10 to identify alien monsters' abilities and weaknesses), Knowledge (religion) +8 (+10 to identify alien monsters' abilities and weaknesses), Linguistics +8, Perception +2, Spellcraft +8; Racial Modifiers +2 Perception
Languages Androffen, Common, Draconic, Elven, Hallit, Orc, Undercommon
I'm not sure what's wonky about your sheet either. There isn't anything that isn't covered by pathfinder rules or house rules.

Androffen is a hot commodity! Derlin had it then lost it after the Great trait Debacle of 2014(tm).
| Yvell Endymion |
1) Because it wast there before
2) Because getting approval doesnt make it any less fine when it comes to certain things.
3) Yes I pay attention to other people's stuff
4) For example he has like 4 traits 2 of which were not there previously.. Kinda like how Derlin changed his trait again. (Yes I noticed)
5) It makes a difference for stats and abilities, as with the GM's permission I believe he allowed him to take Dual Talented, but have the same gains and losses.. not just for free. Otherwise there is no reason for me to not ALSO get a free +2 to a stat.
6) Storywise I don't much care tht you changed the skills to be able to do
Other than that I have no issue with you as a player or RP as a character, it just mechanically you have errors..
| Ibuki Surtova |
You know what, i´ll take away that dual talented.
Doesn´t make that much a difference overal anyway.
Hope you can be happy then.
I have 3 traits and one flaw.
The GM and i didn´t talk outside of this thread, i posted the character and he took it as it was.
True the flaw was not there, since i put that into the "personal" window in herolab, which was not transfered, what i didn´t see.
My apologies. There are sometimes mistakes in herolab, which escape the attention. It´s still a very good program.
I still have to add the spells that are in my spellbook too.
Other than that i think you should take a step back and relax.
| Yvell Endymion |
Do not misconstrue what I say as an assault or not, I state that which is in the rules. I personally dont use char generators for that reason, as they get wonky. As a programmer thats an everyday thing. However Im always relaxed, but fair. What you suggesting is that I am somehow targeting you unjustly, which isnt true. There are people who made their chars under the GM's guidelines and as such getting an advantage one way or the other shouldn't happen unless it is universal.
| Ibuki Surtova |
So you feel at an unfair disadvantage?
Your posts read a bit harsh.
Next time, why don´t you write a PM and explain everything in a calm way?
I prefer to play fair, so as you can see i changed away the dual talented.
Don´t know about other char generators, but herolab normaly has everything straight. Mistakes occur when you play around a lot.
You might in exchange consider that not everyone is able to post several times at that hour and pushing the story alone isn´t always the best thing.
So, let´s have some fun with that robot and the fungus.

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
My traits have been the same since the Great trait Debacle(tm).
I do have to side with Ibuki - you come off as quite antagonistic. Mostly out of character but just to show you how most people treat each other when playing group games like this I've noticed several Paladin Code Violations. Do I point them out? Nope! I keep taking it in stride because we're all here to have fun. I doubt an NPC Warrior would be as fun to play as the condescending paladin who wants to feed the evil people-eating plant 'red food' later. E v i l. :) Just some perspective from the other side of the screen.
| GM Demonmoose |
If you have any minor flaws, you can fix them. It doesn't matter to me.
As for Paladin Code violations, I haven't seen any. Yvell likes threatening a lot, but I haven't seen him lie, or attack innocent people outright. And there is no real law underground. If you'd like to point them out, for fun, I'd like to know what you think.
For Paladins, I find it better if they follow their deity's code, in this case Ragathiel's.
| Ibuki Surtova |
I don´t think we need any sides in this group.
We can just play together and have some fun.
Demonmoose is a quite good GM so far and i really have to respect him running this AP here with 4 or 5 groups and keeping track of it.
So, can we have some good group strategy and show the machines who´s da boss please?
Derlin Froak
|
I'm with ya. Wasn't really any issue but it did seem like he was being overly antagonistic towards Ibuki. No need for that at a gaming table.
One of Ragathiel's 3 main arcs is Chivalry. Our very first encounter, before we'd spoken or interacted at all he called Derlin a buffoon and made mockery of a true and just man trying his best to defend those in his company at the cost of life and limb. Just seeing that made me want to scream Are there no true knights amongst you?!.
One, as a homage to a series of novellas I love dearly and second because it was a very unchivalrous act. I didn't go past the second page to find a code violation because my goal here isn't to antagonize or debase the game.
You did ask for an example though. Great game so far Moose, I really am enjoying the game. :)
| GM Demonmoose |
Well, you are level 2 now. I don't expect any of you to be shining examples of any deity. It's more of a pursuit and a goal. A paladin must try to be a paragon, but they are allowed to fail and continue to strive.
Yvell needs to work on chivalry. Having flaws is fine. At level 1 and 2 you aren't heroes yet. You are just fledglings of your class despite how high and skilled you may see yourselves.
Thanks for the compliments!
| Yvell Endymion |
Chivalry is seen in many ways, being nice is not all chivalry entails nor does it assume you must be nice. I was the same with you as I would be with myself nor any other person. It should be taken with a grain of salt because this is the internet and as such can lose inflection. I write in an affirmative fashion.
Either way, as I said, it was an error and nothing too big save for mechanics, which it could effect. Now for group strategy we've been mostly doing that and I'm going to respond to Derlin IC for his comment
Also I wouldnt mind you pointing out said infractions in the code if they are present.
| GM Demonmoose |
Aye, chivalry can mean many things. It doesn't necessarily mean niceness, diplomacy, or etiquette. Maybe Yvell respects each of you deep down and doesn't know how to show it. Like a tsundere. He critiques you because he wants to show you your flaws and weaknesses so that you better yourselves. That is how I see him anyway.
Derlin Froak
|
He'd never interacted with my character prior to that statment. If he had then I'd 100% agree with ya. It was "walk in" "hi buffoon!" No RP, no conversation. A snap judgment, unchivalrously made. Just saying.
I've read Ragathiel's portfolio thoroughly; nowhere does it describe him as the archangel of snap judgments lol.
Derlin Froak
|
Something a non-Serenite Barbarian type would have drawn his weapon over also. I showed a considerable amount of self restraint in the situation. Maybe I should have been the paladin and you the Bloodrager? :P
Kidding, of course.
| Yvell Endymion |
Oh ofcourse he didnt, He called you that because you were a big strong man who worshiped Sarenrae actually. Which he would usually respond to in such a fashion due to her teachings, this was more a conditioned response. Also as you can tell he seems much more at home with tension than pleasantries as you can tell by his reactions to compliments/praise.
Right now he's trying not to make you question your beliefs when it comes to preserving life and all that... when his god would have little issue with killing what you perceive as an enemy or when defending yourself. Especially if you had been wronged in some way or it is part of your duty.
He knows how to generally speak well t people it's just he doesnt always do it, much like a person can be talented at the piano but choose not to become a pianist.
Derlin Froak

Merriam-Webster also defines Chivalry as ;
: an honorable and polite way of behaving.
Of course everyone has an interpretation. He's learning, perhaps his deity will send him a scolding in his dreams later and how him how a Chivalrous Knight should behave ;)
I didn't mean for this to resort to looking up words online but an example was asked for and it just so happened that one was found in his very first post lol. I'm cool with moving on, just mind your code. Paladin as a class is really strong because they have rules to follow..
| Yvell Endymion |
You picked the second definition without noting the first;
the system of values (such as loyalty and honor) that knights in the Middle Ages were expected to follow
As A Sarenite I would give you the same words. Paladin has rules to follow it changes depending on your god ofcourse but the main rules even with the changes are pretty obvious and " Not being the nicest guy " is not part of that. They tend to be things along the line of Rape, Unjust Murder, Sacrilege, Poisoning, Child Sacrifice, and so on and so forth.
Derlin Froak
|
No my friend that is where you are incorrect. I am a flawed man seeking redemption with no code but my own. If I wanted the strictness I would have played paladin. :)
Also, I just google searched Meriam-Webster+ Chivalry and cut pasted from the search page. I see nothing that disputes what I've said so far going back and reading the entire definition.
Derlin. Is. Not. A. Paladin.
I think we can just agree to disagree on what qualifies as chivalry. A warpriest of Ragathiel would probably act like Yvell IMO.
| Yvell Endymion |
That is often a thing people attach to paladin, the Knights Romance type character regardless of how they actually are. For example, intercourse. A Cleric, Warpriest and Paladin can all be Lawful Good Paragons of their lord and all generally act the same as Yvell.
His god is one that had to wrestle horrible abominations for eons, Destroy an indestructible fortress and get his wing ripped off by his father for the Deities be OKAY with him joining them.. Finally .. after all of that. More than alot of Gods had to do to gain divinity. He is a Vengeful god and as such has much wrath but as long as that wraith is just and centered on evil it can be channeled into a the fight for goodness. Ragathiel was also known as a great General, so in alot of ways Yvell is trying to mimic him. He is one of the few gods with the Rage subdomain.
Simply put your Chivalry is different .
Derlin Froak
|
Agree to diagree. Still. Also sex doesn't violate any paladin ethos that I'm aware of. I've always felt that was just silly; paladins can have consentual intercourse with whomever they want but they also should always strive to be an exemplar of their deity's portfolio. Not 2/3's of it :P
| Yvell Endymion |
Often it comes up as a problem/used on paladins. That they have to either be chaste or Monogamous, or that they cannot use Prostitutes OR be one. Same with Being Mean or Drinking or being Stealthy. Paladin has alot of things attached to the name from knight's romance era but actually has no standing on the class. Its much like how Im sure you would be upset if someone assumed you couldnt learn to read or be civilized or (WAAAAAY back in the day) Utilize magic weapons or you lost all your rage powers.
He has hit every portion your definition is the more modern version. Often used when a guy is being nice to a woman. IE letting the door open or sliding the chair out for them.
Derlin Froak
|
I think the paladin code now is pretty straightforward compared to previous editions. It's practically impossible to fall in Pathfinder as long as you aren't a belligerent murderhobo.
