The door pops open easily (almost like it wasn't locked or stuck) and swings outward toward Jeffrey.

Area 8: Sleeping Quarters

This small cramped chamber holds two beds, one straight across from the door which is covered in bird bones, a small sack, and an array of old tools. The other bed in the corner looks recently slept in.

"Well guess what, they didn't even lock this door!" Jeffrey steps into the room and inspects the old tools. Next, he'll look for mushrooms.

Nebdel moves into the remaining corner and takes a swing at the little reptile.

Nebdel and Balazar rush into the room when they hear the sounds of battle. Balazar jumps on the bed across from the kobold slashing with both claws at the creature. The kobold screams in pain as the lion rakes with both claw across it's body. Nebdel tries to end the creatures life with one blow but in his haste swings wide hitting the bed post.

Dodging Jeffrey's clumsy strike the kobold scrabbles through a rough hole in the wall next to the bed leading out to the hallway.

Keanan sees a small humaniod come out of the wall 10 feet down the hallway.

At the sound of the dwarfs familiar battle cries, August darts into the hall way to see the angry dwarf approaching a small creature. Its a narrow hall, and he doesn't want to find himself on the other end of the Keanan's backswing, so he stays planted in the hall, looking to prevent any escape of the creature, and to watch the dwarf's flank.

Jeffrey moves to the door to the hallway and sees Keanan's cornered the kobold. He stays in the door opening for now. "I can't do nothing here! Keep that lion inside or the thing will go back again, and we'll keep chasing it. If you give me room I can move in."

Keanan can't do the 5-foot step back so I can close in with the 10 feet I have left from my move action?

The kobold darts pass the off balance dwarf and through the library door trying to escape.

The head of the kobold rolls off it's shoulders as it moves into the library the body taking a step before it falls forward like a tree.

August's stomach turns a little bit at the site of the trail rations as Nebdel digs them out from the remains of the kobold. He turns away at the site of what appears to be a dehydrated finger of some creature.

"Hahaha! The little fellow shouldn't have underestimated me!" Jeffrey walks back to the room where Balazar still is, and also tries to find some mushrooms.

After searching the room he walks to another closed door in the hallway, close to the exit to the courtyard. Jeffrey first tries to open it with the handle. If it doesn't open, he will use the crowbar Keanan borrowed him.

Jeffrey's search of the kobold room wields nothing in the way of mushrooms and all the other contains where already found by Nebdel.

The door

With a loud crack, the door finally gives way and opens, shattering an ancient wooden chair propped against it on the other side.

Area 5: Wating Room

The small room beyond is dark and smells deeply of dust and decay. Mummified remains rest in the center of the chamber wearing the garb of a blacksmith. The dwarf has the shattered shards of a glass vial in one hand and a scrap of ancient parchment in the other.

Keanan and Balazar follow Jeffrey around, both of them glad someone else has decided to lead the charge.

August moves down the hall just a bit, leery of the tight grouping of the group. He's seen groups of men, fall to prey traps and other devilish devices.

He keeps a lookout, for sounds and sights of unwelcome guests, giving the group room to search for more mushrooms.

Ignoring the mummified dwarf for a moment, Jeffrey first searches the waiting room for mushrooms.

When Jeffrey's done searching for mushrooms, he walks up to the mummified dwarf. Jeffrey takes the scrap of ancient parchment and tries to read it. "'Oi lads, I found something here!"

Next, he searches the mummified dwarf for anything else that could prove useful.
