I will be getting on a plane to head to Phoenix in a couple hours, going to be visiting my dad for a couple weeks (why he chose to move to Arizona is beyond me o.O).
I will be unable to access my desktop during this time as my normal laptop is broken and I will be using this chromebook, which I really have no nice things to say about (it was a gift!). What this means for us is that I will be unable to create or edit maps of any kind.
I will still be able to post and all that, but we'll be sort of going "theater of the mind" for a little while until I'm back home and have access to my programs again.
Anyways, I hope everyone has a happy holiday! I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of posting while I wait for my flight, so except gameplay to be updated shortly!
After about 30 minutes of intermittent breaking attempts, you are finally able to break free! No enemies around... You sneak towards the door. Remembering you were brought downstairs, you begin a frantic search for a stairway.
Out in the hall, everything seems eerily quiet... Around one of the first corners, you find a staircase headed up. Unfortunately, the distinct sound of harsh goblins speaking comes from up above. That ways a no go. You sneak down the hall a bit further on, finding a door at the end ajar and apparently empty.
Inside appears to be a war room with plans and maps all get a table. There are two closed doors. The first you listen at... And hear faint muttering a in common. Seems that room is occupied. One last chance, you going upon the other door... Success! A quiet stairway up! You sneak up the stairs and find a hall leading to a single door. From downstairs, you hear footsteps, though its unclear if they are headed to the stairs or not. oh well, no time for chances. It's now or nothing! You burst out the door into small courtyard with four goblin dogs just as a man wearing wooden armor and carrying a club drops down from the roof above!
Was I able to grab my stuff, or any kind of weapon? If I did, then I will attack the nearest dog. If not, then I will close the door behind me and try to bar it or hold it closed from my pursuit.
None of your weapons, but let's say you found a dagger in the war room. also it quickly becomes apparent noone is following you out here. Also from now in you can post in gameplay
I know it is a bit late, but I think in honor of the holidays and the upcoming new year a present is in order! Everyone can go ahead and choose any one item worth less than 100 gold, just let me know what you want and then add it to your inventory
A coating that allows your weapon to bypass Adamantine DR for a successful attack or 10 pieces of ranged ammo.
Weapon Blanch, Adamantine: These alchemical powders have a gritty consistency. When poured on a weapon and placed over a hot flame for a full round, they melt and form a temporary coating on the weapon. The blanching gives the weapon the ability to bypass one kind of material-based damage reduction, such as adamantine, cold iron, or silver. The blanching remains effective until the weapon makes a successful attack. Each dose of blanching can coat one weapon or up to 10 pieces of ammunition. Only one kind of weapon blanch can be on a weapon at one time, though a weapon made of one special material (such as adamantine) can have a different material blanch (such as silver), and counts as both materials for the first successful hit.
Thalrik, I have been having a heated discussion here IRL with my buddy about this, and he seems adamant to agree with you and I have been convinced. So, since things have already happened in reaction to the gecko moving, let's just say you use grease on your next turn, and we'll go with making saves from now on.
What convinced me is that spider climb basically makes it so you can walk on walls as if they were normal ground. And if a regular enemy was on normal ground, they would need to make the saves. However, I don't want to have to redo anything, but I would like to be consistent with our ruling here. I made a judgment call on a whim and I suppose we will just all need to be ok with that ;D
Alternatively, you could grease the saddle and see if the chief slides out ;p
So... my hard copy of the party loot document has gone MIA. I simply cannot find it anywhere on my computer! It is looking like I am going to need to dig through the posts and try and redo the list, unless, magically, any of you somehow have a copy of that document.
Bummer, I was hoping there would be more info in the posts, but it seems I did a lot just from the list... Anyone remember there being anything on the list that they didn't add to their own sheets? If there's nothing anyone will miss, I can just estimate the gold value and we'll start over.
Hmm... it looks like Thalrik is up to date on the scrolls and wands. I can't think of anything else there was that you guys were planning on using. So would it be a safe bet to go ahead and just throw some gold up there for party level and continue on?
Ok the link will be up momentarily. I'll put up the loot you just got and some gold minus the price of weapons you guys bought prior to heading to thistletop. I know there were a few random potions... Some heals and I think an invis? The sheet will be editable so just throw your names by stuff you want
ok link at the top should work. You can also find it here.
I guesstimated on the gold, I didn't actually go do the math on your equipment values... but I think I ended up giving you a little bit more than there was on account of my mistake and if I forgot anything important. Sorry for this guys, I have no idea why I would have deleted it! Shouldn't have that problem again.
Hp 79/79 AC 21 (-1 Perc; +2 Init; Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +7)
Arthur is up to date on loot (he hasn't taken anything yet...) on his sheet as well as the gp we already split right after dealing with the dungeon right under standpoint..
Also, we split the healing Potions right after this last fight. I added one to my sheet. Are they included, because I see other stuff from this last fight that no one claimed?
Had my weekly IRL game today, finally got back on track after a couple months of inactivity. A few new players in the group, and they actually all just did their first session of Rise of the Runelords! Will post soon after food and beer.
