Torment??? Why? Fraadok was able to tell you that your friend was indeed dead, and was not turned into an undead creature by the Devil, Daemon or Demon that your group has released upon the world. ;)

I would think relieved, as now you don't need to worry about having to kill him again, at least not in the immediate future.

Sometimes Herolab is good, other times not so much.

I removed the Recharge Innate Magic spell as it is gnomes only, so I have replaced it with Divine Favor.

I'm going to try to read the back catalog of posts, but could someone give me an overview of the story to date?

And how shall I enter? Chasing after the Shoanti for some reason? Tied up to be rescued down there somewhere? Etc.

Everyone arrives in town for different reasons, mostly to participate in the dedication of the new church.

At the dedication, goblins attack, heroes respond and kick green arse.

Tavern owner gives group a set of rooms to use as base.

Arthur gets his freak on, bow-chigga-bow-wow style.

Group responds to disturbance at the cemetary, encounter skeletons. Cleric of the previous churches bones go missing. Necromancers robes found in tomb.

Tavern owner goes missing, clues indicate her brother may be the cause.

Investigate glass works in search, find brother and many goblins. Proceed to kick more greenery and capture brother. Brother tied up and unconcious.

Clues indicate the previous Clerics Aasimar daughter, believed to have died in the church fire, is actually alive and trying to rid herself of her celestial heritage. She seemingly needed her fathers bones to do so.

Group enter tunnels below glassworks, encounter undead monstrocity. Darlin the Cleric gets killed, Shoanti Cleric arrives.

Thats all of it in brief, I think.

Thalrik, that was absolutely beautiful

A few things worth mentioning,

Current sheriff is out of town getting more troops to protect town due to goblin problems. Found out all goblin tribes are gathering at some place called thistle top. Also weird shit about ancient thassilon and seven pointed stars keeps popping up almost like it's important
... To be honest I'm a bit stuck on how we explain away dexter and ferdin (I've run out of dark souls references) so... Lets put it up to suggestion! What do you guys think?

It would be easy enough to just add more critters in the next fight and have both of them die killing them. Or have a trap kill one or both.

Btw, I personally think it would make the most sense if Fraadok and Idril are travel companions and entered as a team. How well they know each other is up to them, but story wise its probably better. Means Idril can come in immediately as well (She was checking the rest of the building or something and is right behind Fraadok)

I would be fine if Idril and I have some common backstory, be it either recent or over a longer period of time. With the Shoanti and Varisians ethnicity making them cousins, it would be very easy to find common enemy in devil worshiping Chelaxian strangers or ancient Thassilonian slave masters.

And so it is. Fraadok and idril met along the road and headed here together for whatever reasons the two of you care to make up. Regardless, you are here together, idril hear sounds of battle as she was looking about the massacre at the glassworks and she now makes her instance into the caverns below. Everyone is all "oh hey girl" as she approaches

How about this?
Idril hits town to be a star in Cyrdak Drokkus show, but is rejected hard because she is too young and inexperienced.
Later she is crying into her ale at the Rusty Dragon "Then I kicked him in the grapes! Now I'll never be a star!"
Ameiko shows up: "You! Stop crying! You drive off customers!"
Ameiko grabs something off the bar and pins it to Idril.
"There! You deputy now! You need experience? You go help deputies down at Glassworks! Now!" She then propels Idril out the door.
With nothing else to be done, she goes to the Glassworks, spots this suspicious looking Shoanti and follows him into the tunnel.

Does this work?

it works to a certain extend.

Ameiko can't deputies you she is "just" a bar owner, and she is still in shock after we just rescued her a few moments ago. He sock was seeing her brother turn evil and torturing+killing their father.

So a sobbing Ameiko can go ask you to join us down here as there re evil thing about.

If Ameiko isn't available, it could be anyone who's running the Inn at the moment.
As for not being able to deputize, well Idril doesn't know that. I postulate that Ameiko (or whoever is there) just grabbed some random object from the bar "here! this is a badge". Anything to hustle the cryer out of there. I should probably put something in perception spoilers; "why does that girl have a bottle opener pinned to her chest?"

Soooooo, apparently when I updated Thalrik to my new character sheet format, I managed to make a booboo and not edit his gear, and I cant find the old sheet.

I've got a good idea of which spells I've used from my scroll, but as for total gold im a bit in the dark. How much you reckon I should repurchase for?

By my own count I think its:

1x Infernal Healing
1x Enlarge Person
1x Color Spray
2x Obscuring Mist
1x Vanish

Originally it was 4x Infernal and 2x Enlarge and Color.

I also know Thalrik has the tower hermits journal and that we purchased for 500 at the beginning. I just cant remember if we have acquired any more gold.

You have all acquired more gold for sure.... I'm going back through the posts trying to remember if I actually gave it to you guys or if I just wrote it down in my notes haha. You got some gold from the Sheriff after the goblin raids, and you most certainly found a good deal of loot after fighting Tsuto...

Let me do a bit more digging and I'll try to figure it out lol. In the meantime, any chance anyone else's memory is better than mine? (I guess, Arthur, that would mean you ;p)

Alright, I went ahead and just refigured all the party loot. (I also posted this as a link by the current map).

So here's what everything you all have acquired up to this point. There was a whole lot of small sized goblin loot, so I just assumed you would sell it all and gave you gold instead... Also I kind of fudged the loot in the book and just went ahead and gave treasure based on average party level / encounters etc. Also, I assumed since you had been back to town a few times and so on, that you have had the magic items appraised or appraised them yourselves. Except for the magic ranseur you got from the statue. That one I'm just telling you lol. Anyways... Here ya go!

Well, the above gold is the party's total, so however you guys want to go about it. I would assume just divide by 4 (about 430 gp each) and add to what you all had left over from character creation... I'm not going to make you pay the 50 gp for those spells being added to your scroll, I figured that into the total gold values so everything is all paid for etc.

But if you don't want to share all your hard earned loot with the new comers, I totally understand ;p.

So you guys have two unexplored paths remaining, both back by that statue you pulled the ranseur from. Also there's the option of giving up, going back to town for now. Whatever y'all gotta do.

I could probably bend, beat, twist and squeeze my way into one of the breastplate armor sets from either of your fallen companions.

And having a couple extra holy symbols never hurts to leave on the chest of an undead or two, even if the holy symbol is not Pharasma.

I already got the wand of CLW when I first joined the group.

well since we have two +1 weapon i would rather trade for a +1 bladed scarf for idril and a +1 longspear for Fraadok.

I have a wand of Magic Weapon for those emergency times.

As far as type of spear... any of the three basic types will work for Fraadok (Shortspear, Spear, or Longspear)

He will have all three at some point, as they all have their specific advantages. Longspear would prob be the best for now.

Ok, so when you all get back to town you can go ahead and trade those two weapons. Anything else you can all equip right now. I will go ahead and update the loot sheet, if you could all go ahead and update your character sheets to include all your current equipment, it would make things a lot easier for me in the future.

I'm going to assume you all head back to the room before the zombie cages and check out that door, and will add that to the gameplay thread shortly. Beyond that, you all just need to decide where you want to go.
