"Someone's got a weird sense of decor." Kyle checks out the cloth covered door for more traps ( no more head-bonking. If he finds none, he opens the cloth-covered door.

Kyle you cut through the cloth and open the door after an inspecting for traps. Behind the door is a small 10x10 room that is filled with spider webs. You barely have time to scan the room before a large spider jumps out and attacks you.
Everybody but Queslin is surprised by the spider.
Queslin you can take the first standard action in the surprise round, then the spider will go. Then round 1 will start.

Tessa fires her crossbow at the spider as well. "Get clear, Kyle!", she shouts.

Kyle you open the first door on the west wall. Inside the room is a large table with a map of the River Quarter placed on it. Next to the map are two ledger books. The room is neat and well organized.

Kyle moves into the room, examining the books to see if they contain any interesting notes. "Well, bugger 'em and take the books, Won't know the head side of their coind from the tails." Kyle hopes he sees anything corresponding to the theft of the key.

Most of the items are fairly mundane, however the last few entries in the ledger talks about the guild coming down with a wasting disease that spread rapidly. And the last entry is about a cleric of Boccob that offered a cure for a price...
After that their is no more entries.

Tessa looks out the doors to the walkway, and chews on her bottom lip. "Open the lock, Kyle?", she asks, inclining her head back over to the remaining door inside.

"Ain't got a key. Sorry, Cutie, but I'm a scoundrel, not a thief. Never learned how. I'm sure I could figure it out, given that I'm a genius, but I don't have any tools either." Kyle smiles at Tessa, shrugging apologetically. "Maybe Thalin can bash it? Not like we've exactly cultivated an element of surprise here."
