Tessa is brought low by the ferocious catdog before her, and slowly bleeds as Kyle steps up to prevent it from finishing her off.

Thalin smashes the remaining dog with a quick chop. A few moments later Kyle flips into melee range and pivots behind the creature giving a viscous slash across the throat killing it.

"Hang in there, Tess." Kyle drops to his knee and begins to staunch Tessa's wounds, looking to Ralafas. "Got any more juice, Priest?"

After defeating the creatures in the chamber, you notice that it was one a richly appointed sitting room. However the two creatures living in here have made the room a complete mess. There are visible exits in this room.

Kyle smiles, and not just because he feels slightly better himself with the latest channel. "Thanks to your patent-pending fall down unconscious motivational therapy, sure." He stands, offering Tessa a hand up.

Tessa regards Thalin for a brief moment with awestruck eyes, then she shakes her head, clearing the stars away. "Too short," she says, waving him away. She takes Kyle's hand and leans heavily upon him. "Weak," she says to Queslin, her tusks stained red with her own blood. "Claws are sharp. They know we are here. Might leave if we do. Keep going."

Queslin just nods. "Let's get going. Time is against us.

"Ok, pull back a bit and load up that crossbow you're luggubg around. Thalin, you and me up front. Pointy, the arrows go into the creatures, not the woodwork. Let's keep moving before whoever has the key runs away." Kyle reloads his sheath, but also keeps two daggers out, one for throwing and one for fighting.

Tessa nods in agreement, standing straighter after Ralafas' healing boon. Even though she no longer leans upon Kyle for support, she winces with every other step.

The wide chamber behind the secret door contains several bunks and training dummies made of straw. There are five humans laying on the beds, they appear to be alive but are weak and feeble. So much so they can barely lift their heads to see who has entered the room.

Kyle approaches the healthiest looking one, offering a drink from his waterskin to the unfortunate soul. "Hey, hey. Easy there. What malady afflicts you and your companions, friend?"

Knowing his own skill at healing is lacking, and since Thalin has turned him down, Queslin turns to Ralafas, "Surely you can offer them some succor. They don't, no one, deserves to be left like this."

Kyle offers water to each of the men healthy enough to drink from his skin. "You're probably right, Tessa, but Queslin is more right, this time. Can't leave suffering men like this. Gotta at least parch their thirst a bit before we go and talk to the elf upstairs. I've been in the mines during a collapse and watched men die of thirst and lack of air. Disease is bad enough, but to be too weak to even give yourself water or food? I'm not much, but I'm not going to let these men go through that, no matter their sins."

The man sputters, "Cyrathas...our...guildmaster...tried to buy...a cure from a...man."
Then continues,"Key?...don't know nothin' bout no key. More water?"

Kyle gives the man more water. "This Cyrathas, he an elf?" he inquires between the man's sips. "And is he sick as well? Who was this man he dealt with?"
