DM-Valkur |
Irontusk still continues his work on the boat he his on, he does not appear to notice anybody looking for him as you continue to walk along the pier.
Kyle you are still walking around to the other pier were Irontusk's boat is tied. Takes 3 rounds to walk around the buildings.
The rest the party is still roughly at the same location, 1 pier over.
Tessa Greenskin |
Tessa follows Kyle but hangs back, letting the Suloise man take point. She stays back by the buildings, waiting to see how Irontusk reacts before blowing Kyle's cover.
And yes, I remember this being an involved encounter when my cleric of Tritherion played this in LG. I loved this mod!
Kyle Reyford |
Maybe I can end this before it begins. Kyle taps Irontusk on the shoulder, giving him an uppercut when he looks up. "Where's my key, Rustjaw?"
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 for 1d3 + 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + (3) + 2 = 6 non-lethal damage
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 crit confirm (vs Flat footed) for additional 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 non-lethal
DM-Valkur |
Irontusk howls in pain from the sudden punch in the face from Kyle.
Crit!
The half-orc quickly regains his wits, "Piss off you little orange haired freak, I got a job to do."
Irontusk then grabs his club from his belt, "Looks like you need a good beatin'."

Tessa Greenskin |
Once Irontusk goes for his club, Tessa breaks from the line of buildings, moving directly towards the other half-orc. She likewise pulls a club, lending support to Kyle. "Stand down," she orders, narrowing her eyes and leveling her cudgel.
DM-Valkur |
Thalin and Ralafas are you going around via the street, or trying to move from ship to ship. If going by street it will take 3 rounds.
Queslin, your arrow just misses.
Irontusk Round 1
The half-orc flies into a rage, frothing at the mouth as he brings his club to bear on Kyle.
Melee Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Club: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Irontusk hits Kyle hard, causing the little man to crumble to the floor of the boat.
Kyle, you are at -3.
Thalin Shieldbearer |
With all the penalties imposed for armor and shield, the Acrobatics and Climb checks for going boat to boat should all be REAL UGLY for Thalin, so, he'll go around.

Tessa Greenskin |
I would like to!
"Fine. Your way then."
Tessa strikes Irontusk in the skull, striking to subdue, rather than kill. The group needed him alive to talk.
And Tessa is very good at making people talk.
Move up to Irontusk and hit him with my cudgel. Nonlethal at no penalty due to Bludgeoner.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage, nonlethal: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Crit Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Crit Damage, nonlethal: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
DM-Valkur |
Queslin you fire your blunt tipped arrow at Irontusk hitting him squarely, the brute drops to the ground unconscious.
End of combat, Irontusk is unconscious. Tessa and Kyle are with Irontusk. Ralafas and Thalin arrive a few moments later. Queslin is still is back on the other pier.
Thalin Shieldbearer |
Thalin toes Irontusk. "He's no' ginnae answer ques'ions like t'at." He stows his shield and weapon before squatting in front of the half-orc. Properly securing a tower shield takes a few moments, you understand. Then he picks the half-orc up in fireman's carry. "Ooof. He needs ta go onna die'. Where to?"
Tessa Greenskin |
"Alleyway," Tessa says, leaning down to check on Kyle. "We should go. Guards will come. Again." She looks to Ralafas as he arrives on the scene. "Fix him." She realizes the terseness of her words, and adds another word. "Please." It's said as emotionless and gravelly as the others, but she says it with an earnestness in her eyes that the priest of the Green Lady probably hasn't seen before.
Tessa Greenskin |
I've got no healing. I know, I'm a terrible divine caster! Is Ralafas still with us?
After retreating to one of the many alleyways, Tessa withdraws some rope and secures the larger warrior with the cord. She pulls out her waterskin and presses on the bladder to squirt him straight in the face with a blast.
"Wake up, she says impatiently. "Told you. Big mistake. Wanted to talk. That was then. Now...." She glances over to Kyle's still form as Ralafas cares for him. "He's hurt. Bad. You're not." She leans in close.
"Yet." She flashes a toothy grin, and lays the oaken cudgel on his shoulder. "Talk to keep it that way. Or don't. Your choice. Both are good."
Thalin Shieldbearer |
The dwarf pulls his tower shield off of his back, and brings it around into more of a readied position, and then sets the edge of it along the inside of Irontusk's left thigh. "'T's amazin' how much weigh' onna t'ese cin suppor'. Two er t'ree bodies wort' o' weigh' leanin' on on et'in edge o' hard shied, placed in a tender area cin really wake a man up, if ya know wha' Ah mean."
Tessa Greenskin |
Tessa removes the cudgel from Irontusk's shoulder, and leans in close to him. Her voice is quiet, but carries with it a whispered clarity. "'It is wise to direct your anger towards problems -- not people; to focus your energies on answers -- not excuses,'" she intones. She straightens herself, her gaze never leaving Irontusk's bewildered eyes. "[b]So says the Wise Fool."
Then she slams the cudgel top of Thalin's shield. There's a long pause between the clang of wood against metal and the muffled whimper of pain that issues from the prostrate half-breed.
She continued her even stare, her disapproving glance at the man that had hurt Kyle. "Who bought you? Talk, or I hit the shield once more." She patted the cudgel's head on top of Thalin's shield with growing impatience with the half-breed.
Kyle Reyford |
Kyle jerks up as the healing stitches his wounds. *Cough* spits out a bit of blood. He stirs, still less than perfectly healthy, but much better than unconscious. He rises, moving towards Irontusk and the others. he sighs when he sees they have it under control.
"Thanks Ralafas, and thank your lady for me while you're at it." To Irontusk's request for a finders fee, he chuckles, looking at the shield wedged on his leg. "Damn, Rustmaw, what are kneecaps going for these days?"
Thalin Shieldbearer |
"Finder's Fee? Shur. Ye wanna hafta fin' t'e lef' one 'r t'e righ' one?" As he's talking, he start adjusting the bottom of the shiled more to Irontusk's torso, without really moving away from the thigh that much.
Tessa Greenskin |
"You are bad at this," Tessa says, shaking her head. "Coins was the soft way. You went for hard. Last chance. Where are they?" She raises the club above her head, and prepares to bring it back down again, this time harder than before.
Taking 10 on Intimidate gets me a 19.
DM-Valkur |
Irontusk bellows in pain,"oww, watch the shield there stumpy."
"Okay since you put it so nicely, the Green Daggers Guildhouse is located in the river quarter. It is an old merchant house on Zyzar street. It is old an run down you can't miss it."
He then looks over at Tessa, "Say when this all over how about you and I get a drink?"
