You are passengers on a cargo ship called the Jenivere, headed south to Sargava. The voyage promises not only to bring you and your fellow passengers together as you face adversity, but also to set you on a path into the very heart of one of Golarion’s most feared regions in search of wealth, fame, and ancient secrets.

Gun back in hand, Dereje begins to cross the next bridge, getting closer to one of the wights. It was too high up for his gun to be of maximal efficiency, but he could compensate by aiming for its center of mass, rather than any particular vulnerabilities.

Savras readies his chain, and Hana her blade, should the creature come within range while Dereje and Lawdrak pelt the red-clad wight missile fire.

Estietre casts her spell, seemingly successfully, and the blue clad wight crawls across the ceiling toward the other wight.

The red clad wight continues to hammer away at the ever-loosening rocks of the cavern ceiling.

The party is up.

Daring to get closer to the ceiling-bound wight, Dereje reaches the other side of the bridge, loading another cartridge as he moves along. Now within optimal range, the paladin raises his pistol, takes aim, and pulls the trigger.

While Hana and Savras standby, ready with their melee weapons, Lawdrak hurls a stone at the red-clad wight, Dereje takes aim at the same with both attacks finding their marks. Estietre's crossbow shot is somewhat less accurate.

The blue-clad wight, still controlled by Mum, claws at its counterpart, tearing the red-clad wight's throat from its neck. The red wight falls from the ceiling landing with a splat on the wet ground below.

"So, ah, how long will your spell last?" Dereje asks as he follows along, looking at the remaining wight warily. In the midst of the battle, he had overlooked Mum's spell.

Estietre shrugs.. "The spell will last for days.. doubtful the pitiful creature's tormented existence will last anywhere near that long."

As you proceed deeper into the mine, the path splits. One branch going northeast the other going due east.

A closer study of the northeast passage reveals two more salt wights, who haven't seemed to have noticed you yet, and a strange metal and wooden device in the middle of the room.

After giving the group a moment to prepare, Mum steps onto the water's surface - up closer her ensorcelled creature.
"Go kill" She points at the pair of wights in the room.

I'm assuming that you all are heading that way. Estietre, I'll let you roll and control the wight you have under your command (and it will go on your initiative). +4 to attack and does 1d4+2 per strike - obviously there are other effects, but nothing that is applicable against other undead.

I was waiting to see what happens when the wights get into melee.

Hana moves in behind the wight, letting it take the brunt of the frontal assault, but looking for a position from which she can strike if possible.

Moving along behind the controlled wight, but I'll move to melee if I can do so.

The wight scurries into melee, and claws at the nearest foe. Estietre creeps a bit closer, and fires off a thin ghostly ray from her fingertip.

The blue-clad wight strikes out at Mum's "pet", while the wight in red claws at Hana.

Hana slashes at one of wights, just missing her target. Neither Dereje, Estietre, nor her controlled salt wight are any more successful than the samurai -ko.

Savras, Lawdrak, and Sharpmaw hustle along as best they can to get in a position to attack the wights.

The red-clad wight continues to claw at Hana, while the one in blue moves beyond Mum's pet to attack Savras. Both wights land strikes against their targets, while Mum's wight swings at the blue-wight as he passes, but fails to make contact.

Hana takes 6 Damage and needs to make a DC 14 Fort Save or take 1d3 ⇒ 2 CON Damage.

Lawdrak and Sharpmaw move into position to attack, but fail to land a meaningful blow on the salt wight. Dereje takes aim and blast a hole into the increasingly surrounded creature.

Savras lashes out at the salt wight with his spiked chain, but swings wide.

Hana finishes off the wight in front of her with a quick, clean slice, while Estietre misses with her spell, but her controlled wight lands a solid blow against the lone remaining enemy.

The wight lashes out at Savras, tearing into the tiefling's flesh.

"Don't let up!" Dereje shouts encouragingly as his hands move in a blur, loading yet another cartridge down his gun's barrel. Without another thunderous report, he fires on the salt wight yet again.

Hana's sword droops and for a moment she breathes heavily. Clearly this combat has taken more out of her than she would normally let on. After a few moments she glances back at her compatriots, straightens slowly, and smooths her facial expressions once more.

"Which way do you think we should proceed?" she asks. "Doubtless there will be more of these kinds of... problems."

With Kainey perched gripping her shoulder, Estietre takes a look around the area.
"Around the bend here I'd say."

With a gesture, she commands the battered wight that direction.

Leaving the metal and wood device in the north passage behind for now, the party follows Estietre's controlled wight around the bend to reveal another bridge.

As you listen closely, you here the sounds of shambling creatures ahead.


Lawdrak brings sharpmaw up beside him and keeps up with the party.

The party slowly continues deeper into the mine, the edge of their light (and the edge of other's darkvision) reveals a small island rising out of the shallow water in the center of the drift. Part of a large, translucent blue orb protrudes from the surrounding earth, pulsing with a pale blue glow. The globe is cracked in several places and shards of the strange, glass-like substance lie scattered across the islet’s surface. A sizable hole is smashed into one side, revealing a hollow interior.

Shambling across the islet are a trio of salt wights, closer to you along the southern wall of the chamber is another.

What would you like to do? It does not seem they have noticed you as of yet.
