For the moment, Kylar goes where he is paid to go (or where he thinks he can find pay once he gets there). And he certainly doesn't dislike hanging out with such excellent meatshields as Skane and Bjorn...
Alright, I'm moving things along tonight. I'll DMPC Bjorn for now.

I might be interested, too, if I can stick with Rayla. I have to have a look at what Crimson Curse actually is.
PS: Oh, well I am going to put a foot in, but given that the attributes are being rolled I rather adapt Lluvia, an elven rogue. Of all character story I recently wrote (and I wrote quite a few) she has the one I like best - far better than Rayla's. Unfortunately the "Second Darkness" campaign in which I used her was relatively quickly cancelled because the DM lost interest.

Yes, and I would love to have Mercy in the game. If you're willing to rebuild her, I'm more than happy to have her.
Re-rolled Mercy's abilities in the recruitment thread - so at the very least I'm up for consideration. She was one of my favourite characters and a very tough play as a Redeemer Paladin...
Part of Kylar's turn is dependent on whether or not the white spaces are impassable. Can't remember if that was ever said and didn't find the answer on a quick scan of previous posts.

I rolled it at the very beginning. I do block initiative and I go by who posts first. It just makes it easier on everyone.
The Hobgob isn't dead just yet, and it'll take him a while to bleed out.
If the other two survive, they'll be surrendering, It's just a matter of how forgiving you guys are feeling.

Okay, I have some good news and bad news. Bad news, I was in an accident this morning that likely totaled my car. I lost control on I-65 on my way to Birmingham AL while trying to avoid rear-ending a pickup in front of me. My car is likely toast.
The good news, I am okay, I'm going to feel like I got hit by the truck, but I am okay. Unfortunately, I'll need to pause the game until I can get things squared away. Hopefully, I'll have the game rolling in a week.

So I have some good news. I have a new car, so I can turn in the rental. I'll be moving the game forward if Skane/Bjorn don't show by Monday night.

Hint, WotC calls it the Underdark, which in my opinion just sounds stupid. Darklands may be a bit of a cliche, but at least it sounds like it belongs in a fantasy setting.
Yep, that's what I picked up from the pathfinder wiki. So... Drow, perhaps? (That's OOC speculation only). And... eh. Corny, cliche names for things are pretty much expected in RPG worlds. We roll with it.

Afore he went quiet we'd discussed bringing more of the Northmen's harsh culture alive - so hence me introducing burden thralls and mention of The Great Road (my own wee idea of Heaven/Hel from a pseudo-Norse fantasy novella I'm chipping away at :)
I've got a question to ask of you. Would you like to participate in a completely loony, hopefully funny, game instead of this? I plan on finishing this out, but I've lost that spark that I have with the other games I'm running.
And this idea will not get out of my head. The premise is that the party is stuck in a wizard's tower with no gear.

The tower is massive and has forests, villages, and all sorts of things that a tower shouldn't have room for. Like two families of dragons having a Hatfield and McCoy style feud over whether Post-modern Ironic Punk Rock or Post-Punk Ironic Alternative rock is better. It'd be a dungeon crawl, but hopefully one that won't bore you to tears.
We can just level up everyone after this quest, or we can go with new characters. Just don't take things too seriously.
I would probably bow out if we make such a switch. I don't really "see" Kylar in an overtly comedic setting (he's the serious sort) and I don't feel like going through another character building process just at the moment. If the other guys feel like switching over, though, no worries.
The reason I asked. I haven't been able to think beyond the end of this particular quest and we're coming up on the end of it. If everybody's opposed to it, I'll just have to get my rear in gear and see what I can come up with for this story instead. To be honest, I'm glad someone just responded to it. The silence was a little disquieting.
I'm pretty decent at generating story/plot, so if you'd like to bounce some ideas off me shoot me a PM.

Salsa, if the spark's gone, then I'll support you doing what you feel is best. You're a great GM, and if you decide to run something else, I'll always throw my hat into the ring. I don't know if Helena would work for the idea you have, but there'd be nothing stopping me from trying with something else!
I'll echo Kylar in that myself and Bjorn we're really (re)built for this game... However if Drayen doesn't make a return I'm not sure I'd continue regardless - the Northmen were really a duo and if the game is waning in your enthusiasm DM-Salsa, then I'd not want you flog a dead unicorn :)
Probably wouldn't shoot for the weird and wacky wizards tower game, but if something else did arise then I'd be interested.
Since he offered, I'll be talking to Arythain about where to go from here. I'd love to see you stay, and I am open to you switching characters if you'd like. Since the ACG is now available, you can rebuild using that if you want. It seems we may have lost Delilah as well. :/

Might well change up Skane somewhat if we keep going... Was building him to compliment Bjorn but if that duo is not going forward then may have to re-jig him... possibly as a huge sized Skald?
Being inside a prison with no gear is all is tricky for people who depend on their spell book. If you have a different idea, it would be alright if you kept going with it, though I did like our little adventure so far.
I found it a bit difficult to get involved with the two north men, since the converse mostly in their own language, so Rayla ended up mostly ignoring them, but there is little she could have done about it.
When you say "not even the clothes you get for free" I hope you mean we do at least have some rags. Part of the idea of Rayla was that she was one hell of a sexy bombshell and is quite easy going (though do think I have proven that this is not all that she is by now), but that doesn't mean she'd run around entirely naked.
I am not sure why Helena wouldn't fit into such a setting. The situation may be difficult, but a character who radiates dignity, is centered in herself and calm despite the circumstances would be very helpful to the group.
Kylar and I are working on the next bit, so we'll be continuing with this.
As for the tower idea, it is supposed to be funny, over-the-top, and just plain silly. It's an adventure that doesn't take itself seriously at all and if I thought I could manage it, I'd go ahead and open a recruitment thread. I want to prove that I can manage the games I have before I throw that into the mix though. In that vein, yes, you'd have at least enough to keep your modesty, but not by much. ;)
If we plan to continue with the game - I'll likely re-skin Skane as a skald. Have downloaded the pdf and looking over the class... truly my dream come true lol.

Okay guys - dropped a prelude to my thoughts going forward into the Northmen's interplay... When DM-Salsa mentioned that winter's first signs were on the wind, figured that is the call for my Northmen to return home...
Skane was my first ever php character on these boards since 2010 and he ended up being a joint submission with Drayen, with whom I've subsequently gamed with on numerous occasions and been lucky enough to have him play in a couple of my own invitation only pbps...
Sorry - am rambling here :) Since Drayen's been off the grid (know he was making a move in RL from Texas to Cali and this might involve a lot more responsibility job wise and upheaval... however since the mooted move he's went off the grid wholesale and I've tried to reach out through boards and private mail to see how he's doing.
I've not heard back and really don't want to keep DMPCing one half of our Northmen duo... however have also come to the notion that without Drayen as Bjorn I don't really want to keep running Skane... as this game was really about rekindling that early dynamic that we loved in our first game here on the boards. Without Marcus/Drayen to riff off I'm just not enjoying running the characters as much as I'd like.
So... I open the floor to you all, and particularly DM-Salsa who opened the door to our Northmen duo. I'd love to continue playing in the game - not sure where its headed, but if it has a degree of planned future I'm happy to continue if you guys will have me :) But alas I'd rather have our Northmen duo exit stage left after the current bandit scrap?
If I'm to continue I'm very open to fulfilling whatever niche the party think they need... but appreciate there might be other players/characters in reserve that someone wants to champion, so will also step graciously aside if needbe :)
If you want to keep playing, by all means let's continue! I can write out Bjorn and Skane and introduce a new character easily enough. I have some plans for what happens after this, but they are fairly vague at the moment.
If you need some ideas, I'd be more than happy to help you out with creating a new character.
Not settled on any ideas so will put the thinking cap on and likely PM you Salsa regards a possible intro.
Meantime I've posted the "exit-stage-left" for our Northman duo. Gutted but the group will likely be less raucous without them :)

Har. Very true.. Am hoping that if Drayen ever gets back to me in RL then our Northern Jotunnblods might come back some day (Salsa willing). Regardless I'm mulling some character ideas over...
Okay, I have an update for you all. Black Dow and I are working on how to introduce his new character. I've been holding off on things so he would have a chance to get things up. As soon as we have a plan I'll get things moving again.
Sorry for the unplanned break. I hope that we won't have many of those.

No worries. I've been very busy lately anyway, so the delay is actually quite well-timed for me.
Folks - home interwebs are pretty much slowed to treacle speed (joys to living in the Scottish boonies!) - so will only be able to post/generate character when at work... which is likely scant as I'm covering for my back-to-back this week.
If your all good with a potential extended delay that's fine - if not might be worth moving the game along whilst I can chip away at getting together my new character.

It seems like this games lost some of its steam. One of the PCs just took a javelin out of nowhere, and I haven't gotten one IC response, and only one OOC response. I'm wondering what I did wrong, and I'm also worried that you're bored. I'd like to continue this, but I'm not going to put time and effort into a game that no one wants to play. If everyone's busy, that's cool, and I can cool my heels for a bit, but still, when there's almost two full days that go by and I only get one OOC response, I'm wondering what I did to chase everyone off.
