Sherix |
Thanks GM!
Edric 'Godly' |
Edric is a westcrown local, originally at least. He's been away for quite a while as a 'guest' of House Thrune - five years or more, so he's not been around much recently, but you might recall his earlier career as a minor troublemaker and anti-Thrune zealot.
Mera Wist-Thrune |
The Wist-Thrunes are a noble house here in Westcrown. Mera is one of many children and has often neglected her family responsibilities for the fortune and fame of the lights on the stage.
Richard Holysmith |
Richard is Riddleport born. He's only moved to Westcrown recently to chase his corrupt uncle. Now that uncle's been taken care off, Richard owes Arael a few favors...
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Thanks for the chance to rp and go off.
Richard Holysmith |
Yes, that was great. Gave me a chance to fill in my backstory.
I'm ready to move on when you are,
Kioshi Katsu |
Guys, I am so unbelievably sorry but my work schedule has changed and I cannot focus on this game in the way I would want to and feel really bad about that.
So I hope you are not mad at me for leaving this group so shortly after joining you. :-(
I wish you great roleplayers all the best in this great campaign of DM RichD and thank you for the opportunity of walking a short part of this path with you.
Mera Wist-Thrune |
Oh sure. Come kill everyone and then leave us with the guilt and assassins!
Just kidding of course, best of luck in your new schedule and future games.
In other news, that slot is cursed.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Good luck Kioshi. I understand work requirements.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Do we press on for now with the 4 of us or wait?
I am in favor of pressing on and when ‘Areal’ finds another to join our cause we meet up at the mayor’s house.
Mera Wist-Thrune |
We shall press on with four. A fifth will come along at some point. If you like, I know numerous people I could poke to fill the slot.
Kioshi Katsu |

Oh god I’m so sorry!! :-(
Thanks for the warm words Tal!!
Richard Holysmith |
Kioshi, it was fun playing with you. Good luck on your job and may we meet again.
The 4 of us should press on. Maybe Areal sends some backup. Maybe one of the Mayor's servants has been preparing for this eventuality. Or maybe another kind soul wants to help protect the innocent and joins us.
DM RichD |
@Kioshi: Hope your work schedule improves and I see you on the boards again someday.
If you ever find that you have the time, you can always re-up. Seems like we will always have an open mage spot.
<DM scratches his head in confusion>
You find that Kioshi, like Stryx, refuses to leave his bed.
If anyone knows anyone interested, feel free to have them join.

You're forgiven. It's not your fault that Defence Against the Dark Arts Teacher mage is a cursed position!
Best of luck, I hope things sort themselves out for you.
Kioshi Katsu |
Thanks a lot everybody!! :-)
Tal Bernard Mainz |
I miss that crazy fool.
Good luck wherever you are and Castor too.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Sorry Mera had to act on that contract. Somehow Tal fears what might happen should you have a contract over a arch devil and wield that glaive. We might have some serious problems then.
Not sure Lily would approve about this though.
Richard Holysmith |
I'm glad Richard isn't over there, haha. I have a +7 to linguistics and can probably take 20 after this is all over to read it over carefully and see how screwed your soul is.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
I will welcome all help to overcome any soul damaging clauses in the wording after we save Westcrown.
Sherix |
My hero. I'd give you a kiss if it wouldn't anger Lily
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Lol. Richard might have an issue as well
Mera Wist-Thrune |
Tal doesn't like affection, he's training to be a monk.
Richard Holysmith |
Looks like Mera is going to save you from that contract, whether you like it or not.
Richard Holysmith |
Now both of you are getting bound to an Infernal contract? ARGH
Mera Wist-Thrune |
I think I did it.
Sherix |
Sherix is going to be so conflicted.
(Also, great rolls!)
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Ricahrd don't forget that your inspire courage is a move action now not a standard. You still had an attack or spell that you could do. We might need it since this things has a +14 to hit!
Richard Holysmith |
I totally forgot.

Understand completely. Life comes first and school definitely is a priority
Richard Holysmith |
Are the floors made of wood or stone? 1 ft of Stone will block it as well.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Hey everyone just a recruitment post in all my games. We lost a paladin and an archer in my wrath of the righteous campaign and also lost our frontline duo in reign of winter campaign.
The wrath of the righteous characters are in book 4 and are 13th level mythic tier 5.
The Reign of Winter characters are in book 5 and about to be level 14.

Hey gang!
I'm struggling to juggle my workload of games these days. I simply have too much and not enough time. The pandemic shifted my lifestyle this year and with the kids at home all day every day with me, I just don't have the bandwidth I used to have to keep the balance. Checking in for games is becoming less fun and more work, so in order to keep my sanity I'm going to need to drop this game.
I don't want to drop this game, as I've grown attached to Mera, but it's just too much weight for me to carry at this time. Maybe I'll come back again sometime if there's an opening, but for now I think I need to step away from some of my tables.
I hope you understand, sorry if I'm letting you guys down. Best of luck in you future games and I hope to play with you all in a game one day again.
Richard Holysmith |
Your family comes first Mera. It was a joy to play along side you.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
I understand completely. That is what happened to me in my other games as well. 2020 has just been a killer for people. Good luck and may settle down for you in 2021.
Edric 'Godly' |
I feel like the worst kind of tool, but I'm going to drop out too. You're all a great bunch, as I know from playing with you before but I've just never been able to get into this game due to the pace. Everything Edric has ever really done has just been reactionary to the events at hand and the one time he was finally getting some nice character development going, the damn city blew up!
Honestly I've been thinking about dropping this for a while because of the pace and haven't because I didn't want to leave Mera. With her stepping back it's a good time for Edric to go too.
Sorry guys - you're all great and this is entirely to do with me. Best wishes to you all.
Richard Holysmith |
It's been great playing with you too, Edric.
You can work on getting that damned glaive out of Mera's hands!
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Lol so true Richard.
Take care Edric and may a game be always available to you should you want one.
Richard/RichDI suppose it is a tactical retreat to recruit people and then return once we have a full party?
DM RichD |
I am sorry to see you both go. I take full responsibility for the pace between work and school, it has been a challenging year to say the least.
There will be always be a place for both of you in this game (as Mera can attest to).
@Tal & Richard: How many players should we recruit for and what type of classes would you think work best?
Richard Holysmith |
At least 2 players. Classes make no difference to me. We have the traditional fighter and that's it. I pride myself as a skill monkey, but I'm all over the place.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
2-3 depending on your wishes RichD. As for classes I am not too picky. Arcane and divine casters are nice for flexibility. Though with a bard we some of both covered already. Traps might be an issue but Tal can pick up a level of rogue if needed.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Any luck finding some replacements?
DM RichD |
So here's a question for the group. You are at the location at the spire, but you have some unfinished buildings to explore. If you decide to enter the spire you will be 8th level which might be easier to recruit some players at 8th level instead of having them join at 7th and then level up in a few weeks. I believe there is not much of interest in thee remaining buildings.
Thoughts?
