Valeros 878 |
Valeros smiles and replies to Kyra "Yeah, but think of the stories!" He's not entirely joking. What was the point of doing all this pathfinder stuff if not for the thrills, after all?
DM PeteZero |
B6 – Growing Ruin
Piles of white shale litter the ground before a twisting, broken spire near a high cliff. Large white flakes constantly slough off the top and sides of the tower and plummet to the ground and sea below, as if the spire was still growing like some out-of-control mollusk. A gaping hole provides entry to the lower floor.
normally I would do roll the saves, but I knew I wasn’t able to update anything yesterday, so you could roll it
And still, warping energies surround you, and you see your companions changing, asking yourself, when will it happen to me? As you try to withstand the energies.

Magnus Landros |
Magnus seems disturbed by the coating of slimy mucus that has covered his body. He turns to Ezren, by far the eldest of the adventuring party, and asks, "Ezren, what is going on? Why are we changing"
Kyra of the Kyra Order |
"Eye See What Eye have changed..." Kyra cracks as she realises that her vision has sharpened and she actually has a wider view.
Ezren - pregen - Inash |
Ezren thinks carefully, and has a coughing fit, as he replies.. "There was something in the library about experiments in transforming people into aquatic hosts for something from the Dark Tapestry. Looking at the changes we've seen..... I think we may be experiencing the first effects of that.

"So, Ezren, is there anything we can do to prevent us from changing into these hosts?"
DM PeteZero |
As you move closer, a large giant lizard charges you.

Flinders cries out in pain as the giant lizard strikes him twice!
Drawing his rapier and calling on his luck, he stabs at the lizard, then takes a step backward.

Valeros 878 |
All that talk about their bodies going through changes and stuff just wasn't that interesting to Valeros. Sure, it felt like his innards were swimming around like snakes, but that could have just been his breakfast of Ale and raw eggs talking. The trick was not to give the discomfort any quarter. Besides, now it was feeling like good squirming guts instead of bad ones.
He steps up and gives the lizard a taste of steel. People really shouldn't just let there pets run around like this.

Kyra of the Kyra Order |
Kyra steps forward with her own weapon swinging.

Magnus Landros |
Magnus draws and attacks.

why can Magnus never hit?
Bartholomew Robert Flaxseed |
Bart moves around behind the beast while drawing one of his daggers.
I'm not sure if that was a surprise round or not but just a reminder that Bart always acts in the surprise round thanks to his diviner abilities.
DM PeteZero |
The beast charges you - Barthomolew can take an action, but with the lizard not being there
Flinders and Valeros manage to hit it - and as Valeros attacks hurt -it strikes back at him:

Flinders Offendurr |
Flinders circles around counterclockwise while drawing his whip. He then lashes out trying to trip the lizard.
Trip!: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 + 2 = 28
Circle around toward Henry, staying of of the threaten area, looking for a spot without cover.
Valeros 878 |
Valeros lets out a hearty laugh as the lizard fumbles about. The silly creature could hardly fight. Still, it might hurt someone accidentally. Best to put it down.

Nah, that's ok. I don't think I could've done much during this surprise round anyways.
Now flanking the beast, Bart draws out another dagger (Quick Draw) and stabs away at the creature.

Magnus Landros |
Inspired by the recklessness of Valeros, Magnus will 5' step towards Bart to get a flank. He'll detect evil on the thing, though he expects that it is not (move action). He'll then attack with his magic cold iron falchion...
"Taste Taldane steel, you wretched beast!"
Adding the prone defender, since I am guessing it was close. Remove if needed

Kyra of the Kyra Order |
Kyra prepares her wand.....seeing that her companions have the battle well in hand.
Kyra of the Kyra Order |
Kyra looks at the wand in her hand and then at her companions.
"I didn't do that."
Valeros 878 |
Valeros tentatively tries to stab one of the lights. Hey, when you have a hammer, everything tends to look a little bit more nail-like.
Magnus Landros |
Magnus shakes his head at the silly fighter. Obviously you are supposed to catch the things! Magnus tried grabbing one of the motes.
Kyra of the Kyra Order |
"Errmm while you play with the lights, who needs some healing?" Kyra brandishes her wand.
DM PeteZero |
Valeros stabs at the lights - and combat starts.

Flinders Offendurr |
Flinders' eyes widen as he examines the balls of light. "Will o' wisps! Careful!" Ticking off his fingers, "One...two...three...four.....fiv....er...that's a lot of wisps. Maybe we should try to talk."
Bartholomew Robert Flaxseed |
Bart listens to Flinders' advice and holds up his hands at the creatures. "Whoa there! We didn't mean any harm."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Kyra of the Kyra Order |
Kyra total defends.
"Ok what now?"
Flinders Offendurr |
Flinders holds up empty hands. "Please forgive our compulsive companion. We did not intend any harm. Understand it was ignorance, not malice that guided his errant hand. We are merely passing through. Is there any thing you could tell us of the island? If you follow us, I assure you there will be plenty of creature's fear to feed on, caused by our companion's hand."
Kyra of the Kyra Order |
Guidance on Flinders.

Wow A Natural 20.

Kyra Nods as she tries to appease the glowing things with the rest.
DM PeteZero |
Tension rises as you have no idea where the glowing things went, if they will say anything, or suddenly rays might strike you. After a few minutes of intense tension nothing happens, and it seems that the things left you.
Getting to the tower is quite hazardous, as debris falls - but inside Flinders discovers horn of fog inside the tower, buried under flakes fallen from the shell-like walls.
With this you easily move on to the Aquarium (B4):
A sheet of muddy water flowing up from the floor forms the door to this domed, shell-like structure. The liquid moves in a continuous loop, flowing from a large central pool across the floor and up the walls in a thin sheet, then falling from the domed crystal ceiling in a cylinder of water. A large bubble of murky water floats in the air above the pool. Detailed mosaics of fantastic sea creatures and undersea motifs adorn the
coral-colored walls.
DM PeteZero |
As you explore the room you notice the pool turn jet black.
