Relan seems focused on his task and notices little else.

Average dagger damage per round will be 15 points that bypass hardness and that does not count power attacking. Can you power attack with a dagger?

There's a difference between being able to do damage and how effective I am going to let a dagger versus a statue be. You will eventually "break" it but it won't be a pile of rubble, make sense? And yes you can power attack with a light weapon

Sure - call it defaced if you like and not broken. Was just a side thought that the rebirth of this thing could be linked to this statue. Likely not even so... Did not mean to sidetrack us.

Vuloo and Andel both move out of the room and down the stairs and open the northern and southern doors.

While Relan continues to deface the statue and Braelex stares at the harp, Nalar hangs back in the central room.

Andel and Vuloo move to the western doors and open them up into a horrific sight.

At the west end of the entrance hallway, floating over the body of the dead naga are the two caulborn and their strange brain creature from the other side of the menhir. Arrayed on the east side of the hallway are a swarm of black, ghost-like figures with hate-filled red eyes being urged on toward the caulborn by a small anthropomorphic hedgehog. North of the humanoid porcupine is a gore-covered white-haired woman mounted on ... no, emerging from a skinless horse ... waving a steel sword.

Knowledge Religion DC15:
The ghost-like creatures are wraiths.

Knowledge Local DC22:
The humanoid hedge hog is a shapechanger with power over the undead known as a pukwudgie that feeds on the flesh of newborn children

KNowledge NatureDC24:
The horse creature is a dark fey known as a nuckelavee, a manifestation of pollution and filth, be it the natural decay of a red tide or the intrusive pollution of sewage and other urban waste. A nuckelavee is a living irony—a carrier of disease and a spreader of corruption that unleashes its wrath against other sources that bring corruption into the world.

Actions?

Just as Relan is moving to react to the rest of the party, his last strike hits the back of the horse's leg and knocks open a secret compartment from which a bejeweled platinum key falls out.

The caulborn's alien voice resounds through your mind.

Greetings again, humanoids. You’ve accomplished great deeds in opening the Dark Forest to our explorations, and should be very proud. Right now, we could use some assistance removing the current tenants from this place.

Braelex downs another extract feeding her thirst.

The woman on a horse turns and both the horse and woman speak together as one tortuous voice,

The battle rages around the two groups with the incorporeal creatures flitting in and out trying to make contact and the caulborn and chrestomath repulsing them with blasts of mental kinesis ... neither party making any significant effect on the other.

The hedgehog humanoid disappears taunting the party as he does so,

The thing at the stairs? Looked like a statue to me. Not an icon with a ring around it. I am happy to move and attack it. But I really could not tell what was what.

Revision

Relan uses the extra movement from the Blessing of Fervor and attacks the horse woman, but misses badly.

Cavalry Rescue Round 1

Init: Braelex, Nuck, Vuloo, Wraith, Caulborn, Pug, Chrestomath, Andel, Relan, Nalar

Andel fires an arrow at a wraith and the magically imbued missile sends electric shock through the ghost-like creature as it passes through it disrupting its essence.

Relan moves forward and misses the creature as Nalar fires rays over his head. (You need a separate roll for the second ray, so I'll only take the first 8d6 as the crit)

To hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Back to Braelex ... who I assume drinks something

Round 2:

Advancing and then rearing up the horse abomination attacks Relan, rearing up and slashing with hooves and sword as the horse head finishes off with a bite. Can't 5 foot on steps, so draws an AoO

Since my AOO might prevent the attacks and the required saves I hope making the AOO first before the saves is ok here.

Seeing the horse abomination stepping up onto the steps to attack Relan takes an attack of opportunity striking to trip the creature.

Trip: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (3) + 29 = 32

Well, a nat 1 followed by a 3 is not great. Did it trip?

We will call it a miss. Since you were honest, I wont penalize you for not rolling saves first. But even more importantly, looking back made me realize she csnt get a full attack so only the sword attack above is valid so saves werent actually necessary at all.

M Human Level 10 Fighter (Lore Warden) HP 117/121 AC 27 (30 Expertise) (+15 Perception; +4 Init; Fort +12, Ref +11, Will 7+4 vs fear) +2 vs transmutation and necromancy)

Ok. I know the 1 missed. Are you saying the 32 failed to trip as well? Its a little low for a 4 legged creature I know.

You have to hit to trip on an AoO yes? Or is that your action for this round? But also, yes, it is too low

M Human Level 10 Fighter (Lore Warden) HP 117/121 AC 27 (30 Expertise) (+15 Perception; +4 Init; Fort +12, Ref +11, Will 7+4 vs fear) +2 vs transmutation and necromancy)

No. You can choose to use a trip attack for an AOO. He he tripped he would have gotten another AOO from Greater Trip. So he tried to trip, failed, and then got hit with a sword. Good here, though I do need to start rolling better :)

Ahhhhhh! I am unconfused again! Got it. Thanks!

M Human Level 10 Fighter (Lore Warden) HP 117/121 AC 27 (30 Expertise) (+15 Perception; +4 Init; Fort +12, Ref +11, Will 7+4 vs fear) +2 vs transmutation and necromancy)

No, not right. Sorry for the confusion. When Relan first moved up and attacked on his turn he rolled a 1. That somehow did not show up in his post. Hence I stated he missed badly. Unsure where that roll went.
The 3 was the AOO provoked by movement on the stairs.

Cavalry Rescue Round 2

Init: Braelex, Nuck, Vuloo, Wraith, Caulborn, Pug, Chrestomath, Andel, Relan

Vuloo begins a spell as the wraiths flit around the caulborn, one of them gets through and the hooded caulborn flinches with a hiss.

Vuloo's spellcasting draws the ire of the invisible pukwudgie and it fires a pair of quills at the halfling, becoming visible as it does so.

Cavalry Rescue Round 2

Init: Braelex, Nuck, Vuloo, Wraith, Caulborn, Pug, Chrestomath, Andel, Relan

Andel is paralyzed with indecision.

Relan steps backward and with a series of expertly timed strikes cuts the legs out from under the nuckelavee and then slashes her gravely as she crumples to the ground. (Is there a penalty on the second attack from power attack ... furious focus just applies to the first one, yes?). The blade of the guisarme has a hard time penetrating fully through the creature's skin

Nalar throws an explosion of fire into the room searing everything. Some things dodge, many don't. There is an audible squeal of pain from the puk.

Point 1 - you are correct that Furious Focus only works on the first attack of a full attack. In this case I am unsure as he only made a standard attack. I think the AOOs after are at the same bonus as the standard action attack. I am not totally sure though. Your call. If you do not agree then the 31 to hit becomes a 28. If we are going with that, does the 28 hit? It might influence my decision to trade to hit for AC...

Point 2 - If the nuckelavee uses a move action to stand up it seems like it cannot full attack, unless it can stand up as a free action. It has already 5' stepped as a free action. Let me know. Since I might need a fort save, I'll hold off on rolling dice until I hear from you.

Power attack penalties applies to everything until the start of your next turn. 28 still hits

Twice I have screwed up the action economy! I am not paying attention. You are correct. Just the sword again. I had originally had her attack on the ground and then decided a horse creature wouldn't do that and then failed to update the attack. Thanks

Andel fires into melee and can't find a hole.

Relan smashes the horse creature again and with a massive display of strength just barely forces it crashing to the ground again. It thrashes in frustration before the warrior slashes it again. The creature wards off a lot of the damage, it's bizarre nature resistant to steel, but it is harmed grievously and starts to look panicked.

Nalar sends a follow up ball of fire incinerating three of the wraiths and scorching the nuckelavee again.

Braelex searches the table set for the undead Rider and his hounds. She finds a roasted feast of carrion. The food on the table is a mixture of normal dishes and horrific murder, the latter including a plucked and broiled tengu trussed into the shape of a turkey; a ratfolk with its chest cavity spread wide and its innards jellied; and the centerpiece, a decaying centaur with a cherry in each empty eye socket.

Let me know what you decide to eat ... it's all technically food

The nuckalavee inhales as if the horse is going to expel a breath again and then coughs, unable to produce the vile phlegm yet. So, she stands (provokes) and moves forward again, this time biting at Relan with the horse head, but the wily warrior dances away.
