Hey everyone, my wife and daughter are going to be in town until 1 Nov, so intend to be sparse until then. I apologize for the delay, but want to spend time with them as I can. If I get a spare moment, I'll update.
Sam, trying to get my characters in Hero Lab up to date. Got most of your stuff right, but can't get the arcane pools to line up. Hero Lab is calculating 10 for you and 3 for the blade. Help me figure out what I'm missing.
OK, so I had skill points for the first 8 favored classes, so there is 2 more giving me 12.
You are right that you don't get that last one until 12, so that's one more closer (end result 13)
I'm showing a +7 Int bonus, so maybe I'm missing a gear item? I have a 16 start, +2 racial bonus, +1 for level 4, +1 for level 8, +4 Int headband. That's the difference between my 12 and your 13.

I'm kinda at a loss... Other than bashing down the door, Nowzai could teleport out to pick up a flesh to stone scroll and come back. Otherwise, we have to leave the place entirely.

Hey guys,
Sometime in the not too distant future, I'm looking to run a Starfinder game, probably using the current "Dead Suns" adventure path. Anyone interested? Obviously, it will entail learning the new (yet mostly familiar) rules.
Yes, I know Skull & Shackles is still "on hold"...

Thanks for the push! I'm pretty much ready to kick off a starter scenario when you guys have characters ready. I'll open it to others if there's less than 4 PCs from this group of players.
Also, if it helps... Tike and Kam are both putting together multiple characters. If it makes things easier, you could start using one of the ones they don't, and then re-attack the process when you're more familiar with the system.
Sounds good! Follow the link above to the discussion thread... there are a couple of spare characters there. HeroLab Online is a free demo (looks like paying the sub gets you access to the expansion books), so you can build a starting character pretty quickly.

Not sure if we can discuss tactic here, but I'm think about dropping a herd of Aurochs on its head...err eyeball...I get 1d3+1 of them, they are Large creatures, so even if I only got 2, that might be enough to crush it. If someone were to teleport me to the tippy top of the room, the thing would have to rotate up to anti-magic them, and the rest of the party could attack it from below, then if it turned to deal with them, I could continue summoning beasts to attack it. I could levitate and hang up near the roof. If he anti-magic'd me I'd fall, but if the group attacked together, one of our attacks would have to get though. and I'd land on the Aurochs, might not totally die...=) Ok, plan needs more work
Summons will just disappear if he turns anti-magic onto them.
I think fighting him in that cylinder room is a death trap. We have to draw him out into the room we're in now... there are small wall protrusions adjacent to the door which could be used for cover, at least until he's completely in the room. Then, we can swarm him and attack from all sides. Most importantly, its a lower ceiling, and can't fly up to anti-magic the whole area.
Take cover around the sides and force him to come all the way in to fight us. If I can, I'll block his entrance with a wall of stone so that he can't retreat (easily).
We need Epik mobile and our melees to get in and hit this thing. The ranged volleys were pathetic, and any spell effects are easily shut down. I'm trying to be creative, but this sucks balls as a caster.
