Hey, brain trust!

Wondering if telekinesis, cast at 12th level, would be able to pull Melagorn into the acid pit? The spell description say at her level she can manipulate up to 300lbs.

So, I'm not sure which version to try?

Sustained Force: A sustained force moves an object weighing no more than 25 pounds per caster level (maximum 375 pounds at 15th level) up to 20 feet per round. A creature can negate the effect on an object it possesses with a successful Will save or with spell resistance. This version of the spell can last 1 round per caster level, but it ends if you cease concentration. The weight can be moved vertically, horizontally, or in both directions. An object cannot be moved beyond your range. The spell ends if the object is forced beyond the range. If you cease concentration for any reason, the object falls or stops.

An object can be telekinetically manipulated as if with one hand. For example, a lever or rope can be pulled, a key can be turned, an object rotated, and so on, if the force required is within the weight limitation. You might even be able to untie simple knots, though delicate activities such as these require DC 15 Intelligence checks.

One cool thing I missed about the House is that she has permanent unseen servants at every door that automatically open doors when someone is within 5 feet and then close them behind them when they pass through. That would've been interesting for this fight. Ah well.

I have no idea how to proceed. We have a ton of information to sift through but still no real path forward. We just wiped out a ton of the enemy leadership (I assume, no way to know for sure).

Firstly, we need to get Dalamus and Ma'puande back up. Happily we just looted a ton so we've got some cash to throw away. Thoughts on rezzing Jenya or Shensen?

That beholder can f$!% right off. Seriously the most asinine obnoxious thing I've ever encountered in my D&D career.


You guys have essentially completed Chapters 7 and 8. You do have a ton of new information ... it will take time to research, but it will be helpful.

What's left unfinished?

-- Returning to the beholder lair, if you want
-- Returning to the dungeon behind the portal in the Temple of Pharasma/Norgorber -- not actually necessary, but there is stuff there that may help
-- You skipped the siege of Redgorge. But with the return of the Blue Duke, you discovered the siege ended ... you have acquaintances there.
-- The Lord Mayor is still missing and there is currently no Captain of the Guard since Terseon Skellerang
-- I believe you found a scroll of resurrection or raise dead in/around that last fight

-- Sam and Ma'puande need level ups as does Jenya.

We do have a raise dead scroll, and I am good with using it on Ma'puande as she can cast raise dead herself with the right mats.

I say yes on raising Jenya, she has been way too good of a companion and we can look at the resources for Shensen once we get everyone else up and restored as well.

    Nowzai will claim the arcane scrolls. I already have 2 rings, but I'd suggest someone take the ring of counterspells... I can put disintegrate or something on it for when we face the beholder again. We had a 2nd one, but can't remember who I gave that to (Magma? Epik?).

    Can Ma'puande use the +4 Cha headband? She should definitely take the divine scrolls and heal wand.

    Cash won't be a problem. If you can use the Cha headband, go for it. I offered it for Ma'puande first because Cha is her primary casting stat... not sure if she already has a +4 item or not.

    Ma'puande would definitely use the ring of counterspells, and the Divine scrolls, I'd ask if we can keep the +4 Cha headband, she currently has a +2 int/cha headband. but not sure I want to sacrifice the extra int. I just saw Dalamuses post. If no-one else wants it, she'd also like the ring of mind shielding. but she doesn't need any other stuff...=)
