Kardas stares at the door through which the remaining Banite scourge might pour. Gnarly hands grip around the hilt of the sword while the man controls his breathing, trying to elevate the rate at which his heart beats.
"More orcs, or worse, priests of Bane."

Suddenly with a sound like thunder the door to the west bursts open and a quartet of half-orcs rush in. The robed one at the back shouts roughly, "For the glory of Bane, KILL THE INTERLOPERS!"
They didn't count on Ishta however! The arcanist completes her spell and a vivid fan of colors washes over them causing several of them to gaze vacantly into the distance!

Ser Armithia rushes into the room pass the stunned orcs and the knight introduces himself to the speaker!
Ishta moves from the door to allow her companions in, and casts her signature cold ray against the robed orc that seems the patrol's sergeant.
Kardas moves into the room with sword in hand and, just when he's about to strike, stumbles over an Auril-damned cooking utensil. As it turns out, the man's attack didn't exactly pan out the way he had hoped it would.

Kardas moves to engage the non-stunned sword wielding half-orc. He tries a tentative slash to test his defences, the half-orc parries it with ease and a sneer!
Ser Armithia vaults over the table to get to the robed half-orc, the half orc Kardas engaged tried to stab him in the back but once more the Paladin's armour turned the blow.

Ishta rushed in and hast her spell. A thin beam of utter cold raked across the cleric, searing his flesh as surely as any fire!
Ser Armithia's sword bit deeply into the cleric of Bane causing the man to curse as his blood ran freely. He presented his unholy symbol and shouted, "BANE TAKE THEE!" Tendrils of dark energy washed out and over Kardas, Ishta and Ser Armithia, leeching their life force! Kardas and Ishta managed to resist most of the attack but Ser Armithia took the brunt.

Azarra moves into the room and shoots at Red.
While the situation is quite proper to use one of her dreaded area spells, Ishta fears for the safety of his paladin friend, so she decides to use her last high level incantation.
A wave of fire arcs up out of nowhere which gives the swordmage the opening he needs to quickly weave a spell into his blade. As the fire dies down, he strikes.
Steel resolve tightens his grip on his sword and shield. Without any hesitation, the Paladin returns an answering strike at the cleric of Bane!
Calling a swift prayer to Helm, the Paladin wounds seem to heal a bit.
Zane moves to stand next to Kardas and he presents his rose colored holy symbol. Invoking Lathander a wave of color smelling faintly of roses waved out from him causing many of the parties wounds to vanish!
Azarra sends an arrow hurtling into the chest of the man next to the robed cleric. He tried to scream, but he couldn't move a muscle!
Kardas's first pass didn't hit any of the images dancing round the man, but they where fragile and one shattered anyway. His second attack shattered another image, now there where only two remaining.

Ser Armithia strikes once more at the cleric, his sword biting deeply into the man's chest. He then calls upon the power of the gods to cure some of his wounds, and with a blue flash some of them vanished!
Ishta chants the words of a spell and she points her arm at one of the half-orcs and an arc of burning fire too bright to look at arced over to him searing his flesh. He screamed briefly before falling down, burned to a crisp. Some of it bounced onto the man next to him and while he managed to avoid the worst of it, he too screamed in pain.

Zane felt the dark energy of Bane wash over him as the cleric called upon the evil God to harm his allies, the energy of life being sapped from him as thoroughly as a blade could take it. Resolutely, he called upon the Morninglord, healing most of the hurts inflicted by the Banite.
His face grim, he saw the catastrophic flames Ishta released char one of their enemies and severely hamper another. The priest's brow furrowed, as he knew he shouldn't take joy in such a thing. Then again, these were fervent followers of Bane, one of the most evil deities alive, so perhaps Lathander might forgive him. Shoving the philosophical aside for a moment, he raised his arm up and brought his mace down at the stunned enemy beside him, hoping to end the orcish fellow's fight before it had even truly begun.
Ser Armithia smiles at the cleric.
Bane has left you! And Helm has found you wanting!
It seems that your penance has been postponed!
Kardas laughs almost maniacally as Ishta's arcane blasts wreak havoc on the orcs. "Taste Thayan magic, wretches!"
Ishta concentrates fire (or, better said, concentrates ice) on the mirror imaged orc while the others are still stunned.
Azarra shoots at Red again.

Zane's mace landed heavily and made a messy wound as it struck the stunned warrior in front of him, splattering him with blood. The man would have screamed but he was still bewitched by Ishta's spell.
Azarra shot the slight looking stunned man at the back once more but her arrow was deflected in a shower of sparks by some unseen shielding.
Kardas' spell fizzled and unfortunately his swordplay let him down too for he fumbled his lunge and nearly fell over. This must have been catching for Ser Armithia also stumbled and his wild stroke nearly cut his own foot.
Ishta sends a ray of cold at the mirror imaged orc, but rather than striking the man, it shattered an image leaving but one left. With a hint of desperation he struck at Kardas but his form was poor and it was easily parried.

The remaining half orcs groan as they come round from Ishta's spell, but are unable to do anything, yet.

What? I just shot that guy! How did I miss this time?
Feeling angry and useless, she starts a song, hoping that the song will give a boost to her companions and help her calm down and focus.
Another arcane incantation. Another fizzle. Weariness is getting the better of Kardas and, aching for this fight to be done with already, he takes a gambit by foregoing defense in favor of offense.
"So... Images, uh?"
Ishta fires another ray. It can either hit the orc or destroy his last image. Either is a good option.

Feeling the rush of energy as Azarra's song stirred him to action, Zane lifted his flagging arm and again brought it down on the stunned foe in front of him. It might not be the most noble of efforts, but taking out a foe before it had a chance to inflict damage was smart tactics. Lathander was all about rebirth and new beginnings, but for Phlan to have a second chance the filth that had infiltrated it had to be cleansed.
Frustrated by difficult archery conditions Azarra decides to inspire the Watchers of Dawn by song!
Zane feels an extra spring in his arm, he feints high. The half-orc groggily parries this and Zane whips his mace away before smashing it towards the half-orc's midriff. The half-orc twisted away at the last moment although Zane still managed to land a glancing blow.
Kardas tries another spell but it dies on his lips as he had to duck a thrust. He whips around determined to behead his foe, his sword gleaming as it swept towards the pale green exposed neck, but rather than cutting through flesh and bone, it shattered the final mirror image.

Ishta tries to take advantage by freezing Kardas's opponent now the last image was shattered, but she couldn't get an angle.
Still blinded the belted black-robed half-orc at the back snarls his fury and cries, "DIE WITCH!" His hand suddenly glows and a ray of super heated fire rakes the floor near Ishta.

Bereft of his protective Images, the frontliner attempts to cast another spell while avoiding Kardas's blade. He manages to snarl out the spell and once more there are multiple images of him swarming around!

Still blinking from the after effects of Ishata's spell and badly wounded the Falchion wielder screamed his fury at Zane, "TASTE BETTY *@#$^ SCUM FACE!" He swung his oversized sword in a two handed over head chop that ripped through Zane's armour, sending sparks and blood flying!

Noticing one of the orcs about to pass out, Ishta tries to hasten things.
Azarra took careful aim and her arrow struck the sorcerer high in the chest. He tried to scream but a spray of blood fountaiend out of his mouth instead. With both hands on the arrow, he wobbled before keeling over, legs thrashing.
Zane ducked a thrust from the half-orc in front of him before punching out with his mace. The half-orcs armor took most of the blow with a deep clang, and he grimaced in pain before preparing to counter attack!

Kardas managed to complete his spell despite having to parry an experimental thrust from his opponent. His first strike missed but came close enough to one of the fragile images to smash it like glass. His second cut was better but rather than connecting with the man's midriff it smashed another image.

Ser Armithia attacks one of the orcs but Helm it seems withheld his judgement, for now.
Ishta sends her ray of cold at one of the orcs . Picking the wounded Falchion wielder who seemed intent on murdering Zane. Her ray seared his flesh, but it wasn't enough to put him down!
It was a strange site, watching two combatants both with Mirror Images fighting each other. The half-orc thrust with his longsword skewering an image, leaving two remaining but those started to waver an loose coherence as Kardas's spell faded. The half-orc sneered in broken common, "Now you die!"

The other half-orc still standing grunted as he tried to slice Zane's head off with his falchion but the cleric was able to parry the blow and avoid what would have almost certainly been his death.

Zane contemplated attempting to heal himself and his companions, but after a near miss from 'Betty', the resulting impact nearly numbing his shield arm, the plucky priest decided that stopping the rampaging orc combatant took a higher priority. Stop the damage, then treat the wounds. With Ser Armithia now on the opposite side of the dangerous opponent, the cleric waited until the orc was distracted by the noble gold elf before he swung his weapon at the enemy.
No gift ought to go unreciprocated. So, when the orc spits hatred and disgust at the Raumathar, the swordmage returns the kindness. "Auril will chew on your soul, mongrel!"
Azarra scoots by Ishta in order to avoid going near green, and moves to the corner to get a better line of sight.
Then, still singing, Azarra shoots at Green.
Azarra plants a well placed arrow solidly into the middle of the image swarm, smashing one.

Zane's mace smashed once more into the Falchion wielder, crushing bones and causing him to scream in rage and pain. He wobbled slightly, badly hurt but still a threat.
Kardas completes his spell and curses his opponent before landing a solid blow. This time rather than having an image shattering he managed to land a telling blow on the man himself and was rewarded by a sharp intake ob breath and the spray of blood!

His follow up blow narrowly missed, but it came so close it caused one of the fragile images to shatter, leaving just one to defend the half elf heathen.
Ser Armithia flanking the Falchion wielder tried to decapitate him with a powerful overhead chop, but the half-orc managed to just duck in time although a lock of his braided hair got chopped off instead!

While she knows her rays cause little damage, Ishta understands the importance they can have in eliminating mirror images and thus not making the true damage dealers waste their attacks. She shoots one of those with the said intention.
Kardas's opponent saw an opening and went for a cut, but at the exact same moment Ishta's pencil thin ray lanced out at him. To her surprise it hit leaving a narrow whiplash like frosting over his arms! The half-orc cursed, his cut ruined.

Setting his feet, Ser Armithia attempts to end Blue!
Guving that his sword arm is bolstered by having his friends along side him, the Paladin of Helm sends the garbage out!
Again the priest side-stepped the swipe from the dangerous orc, but allowing the creature to continue to swing the falchion seemed foolish. Zane was already sporting quite a wound from the thing, and he had no desire for a repeat. Working with Ser Armithia, he again tried to hammer at the orc's defenses, looking to bring him down.
