Kardas Rasalas
"We got 'em!" yells Kardas as he raises his sword and clenches a fist, but the arcane might he tries to summon fizzles out once more. Regardless, where magic fails him, physical prowess does not.

Now that the immediate danger had passed, Zane turned his attention upon striking down the remaining croc-men before they could inflict any further damage on the party. Seeing that Ser Armithia and Kardas seemed to have the one enemy under control and that Azarra was sorely pressed by the other, Zane stepped up behind the one threatening the lovely half elf, attempting to smack him with his mace.

Sorry for not having written it in blue, but Ishta's intention was to step back as well, leaving a space empty. It is stated in the description.
Azarra
Oh, no worries. I just moved you. It is kind of off the edge of the map, but based on the rest, there should be a space there. Azarra must have just been mistaken when she thought you were right behind her. :)
DM Fang Dragon
Earlier feeling renewed, Zane clambers out of the murk and smashes his mace into the back of the crocman menacing Azarra with a satisfying crunch of splintering bone!
Once more Karda's art fails him, but his trusty sword does not. It bites deeply into the crocman on the bridge, spilling his lifeblood in a growing puddle.
Zane tries to follow through, the crocman was sorely wounded but some canniness remained and it dodged aside from his bloodied mace and managed to pirouette away from Ishta's frigid ray, but it was out of luck when Azarra steeped back and loosed an arrow at point-blank range. The arrow pierced it's heart and keeled over, kicking feebly.
Ser Armithia seeking tactical advantage splashed into the water, flanking the crocman but his footing was anything but firm and he very nearly slipped as his sword passed harmlessly several feet away.
Knowing it's time was up the remaining crocman shrikes in broken common "BANE TAKE THEE!" as it presets it's unholy symbol! More sickly darkness radiates out to steal your life-essence!

Ser Armithia, your damage is reduced to 2. Thanks for the save! LOL

Kardas Rasalas
"Hrm," groans Kardas as he climbs out of the sludge and clenches his fist. A soft recital of arcane words causes runes to appear out of nowhere and glow softly before disappearing. "Should we check if they have any valuables on them? Or, perhaps, a spare key to wherever it is they dwell?"

I'll wait a bit longer to see if Zane can make the perception roll.
The crocmen are just wearing rags, it's almost as if their clothing burst at the seams, but that would be crazy.
Zane Levallis
After the too-close-for-comfort combat, Zane taps himself and anybody else who might need it with the wand of cure light wounds, saving the Morninglord's trickle of power for combat times.

After everyone takes a collective breath after the fight, Zane's keen green eyes notice the tracks leading down the right-hand fork. The priest waved the others to come forward, then proceeded to where the reptilian tracks suddenly ended in a wall. His brow creased as he looked about, then suddenly noticed something above the group. The cleric grinned as he pointed out an indent in the ceiling above the group that looked like it would accept the unholy symbol they had found in Kovel Mansion.

Azarra
Azarra smiles when Zane discovers at least part of the mystery of these unusual croc-men. She is reminded that there are others in the party as well when Ser prompts her, and she shakes herself from her gazing admiration to cast prestidigitation on everyone, cleaning them up and reducing the smell considerably. Then she heals everyone up with the wand.
Cure Light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

DM Fang Dragon
All right you have a decision, try and open this hidden door or follow Braccio's original plan which would bring you up through a storm drain nearby?
Ser Armithia-Seendren
Ser Armithia stands in front of the secret door.
With our original route near this location, I am of a mind that we may have found their emergency exit. Now, we either block this someway, and continue as planned; or vice versa.
The gold elf looks to the trappers.
Fine tooth comb, if you please., the knight bows backing off.
Zane Levallis
Zane certainly appreciated Bishop Braccio's advice, but being able to adapt on the fly was an important skill to have. Or a dangerous one, depending on how it worked out. Still, the opportunity was there, and the priest was of a mind that the Morninglord had guided him to see the printed and the outline of the 'keyhole'.
"I say we go ahead and enter through here. Bane's bunch are zealots, and not nearly as likely to run as the disciples of Mask. They likely won't expect an enemy to enter through their hidden doorway, either. If the group thinks differently, though..." The cleric's green eyes went to each of his companions in turn, settling slightly longer on Azarra before he turned back to the hidden door, searching for any surprises that might be attached to it.

The paladin chuckles.

"We'll never know unless we try, right?"
Azarra
Agreed. Let's use the secret door.
Kardas Rasalas
Before agreeing upon using the secret door, Kardas first rubs up against Azarra's healing wand.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

"Alright. Let's do this before doubt gets a chance to sink in."
Ser Armithia-Seendren
The paladin scans the area for evil.
Anyone see anything before we proceed?
Azarra
Azarra humors Ser and takes another look around, just in case.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

The unholy symbol fits perfectly into the indent and the moment you do so the wall starts to weep blood and disgustingly turns into flesh before your very eyes. Like a sphincter, an opening appears into what feels for all the world feels like the bottom of castle staircase! The rock shows the marks of expert stone masonry and each granite block has been fitted with the upmost care, you're unable to get a piece of paper between the cracks let alone a dagger.
There are spiral stairs leading up to a landing with a wooden door.
Map updated. I'd recommend tending to your wounds before venturing far.
Ser Armithia-Seendren
Ser Armithia stands ready for any trouble as the Ass allows for an entrance....
Ready!
Zane Levallis
Before the group proceeds, Zane turned to Kardas & Ishta, smiling kindly as he regarded them. "Though you took no physical wounds during the conflict, the dark power of Bane sapped your strength, for I could feel it, as well. If you still feel that stain sapping your strength, we can use the wand to lift it before we proceed into this den of evil."
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
After any lingering wounds have been tended to, the priest regarded the disgusting opening with revulsion, but was determined to see this through. Bane was a god, but both he and his followers were reviled by the goodly races on Faerun. Disabling this place of fell worship would be a boon for the fledgling city of New Phlan. Turning to Ser Armithia, he nodded for the gold elf to proceed should he be ready, the cleric ready to proceed deeper into the lair.
Azarra
If anyone still needs healing, please just roll it yourselves, and I will subtract the charges from the wand. I'm down by two, but I don't want to use a charge for that yet.
After everyone is healed, Azarra follows the handsome Cleric.
Kardas Rasalas
Kardas stops in his tracks when his familiar starts snarling. The animal peers up at him and his companions, sending feelings of anger and disgust to its master. The swordmage then speaks with a hushed voice, "Multiple bad guys. One .. or more .. are walking away, best wait a minute or two before doing what we must."
The sword in his hand then glows, the build-up of arcane might giving away his intent.

I updated Kardas's hp from 29 to 37 on the map page, since he used a charge of Azarra's wand earlier on.

Actually, I did have some damage indeed.
Ishta asks for some healing, then follows the other inside... that thing.

Azarra
Got it, Ishta. Thanks.
I think that we are all healed up. The totals on the map are incorrect. Do you want us to update those individually? I haven't touched them previously; I thought they were a DM tracking thing. The HP total in my tag line is correct.

Looks like I missed some heals, anyway I think I've caught up now.
The door is thrust open revealing two startled looking half-orcs sitting in a well appointed office with oak paneled walls. The one on the left (red) is a big bruiser armed with a bardiche. The paladin then activates his Detect Evil, encompassing everyone.

The Raumathar draws a square with his pinkie and, as his mouth starts filling with phlegm, spits out what sounds like a curse from days long gone.
Move action: move
Std action: cast Grease (DC 13 Reflex save or go prone) on the center of the room so it catches both orcs, but allows us to move in and attack them. I drew it on the map, feel free to remove the ugly box whenever.
A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can’t move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.
Azarra
Changed the Grease Box to yellow, removed the background fill, and labeled it to make it easier to work with.
Azarra moves to the side to set up a better shot, and then she lets fly an arrow at Red.

Not a bad start!
The vile villianous Villa that we are visiting has brought forth these slaves of evil!

Zane gasped as the noble Ser Armithia strode across the room, batting aside the strikes of the surprised half-orcs to bar their access to the door and allow the alarm to be raised. As one of the Rashemi's images popped out of existence next to him, the priest resolved that he would help ensure that the gold elf's bold move was not in vain. He hefted his heavy mace and brought it down in a now-familiar arc towards the enemy threatening himself and Kardas.
